Road Survival, I Have a Hint System!

Chapter 24: The Purple Supply Crate

Seeing the giant eagle in this state, Zhang Tuohai laughed.

“You little thing, weren’t you chasing me pretty aggressively just now? What’s wrong now? Lost your bravado? You look like you're in pain, so let me help you on your way.”

Zhang Tuohai thrust the broken hunting spear into the giant eagle’s head.

The giant eagle kicked its legs twice and then went still.

Zhang Tuohai stabbed a skinning knife into the eagle’s body and disassembled it.

[Acquired: 500 grams of eagle meat x 50]

[Acquired: eagle legs x 2]

[Acquired: eagle wings x 2]

[Acquired: eagle neck x 1]

[Acquired: feathers x 10 units]

[Acquired: innards x 1 set]

[Acquired: ordinary soul x 1]

“Wow, these wings are huge. One wing alone would be more than enough to make a pot of braised wings.” Zhang Tuohai picked up a processed eagle wing and examined it. It was over two meters long and weighed at least thirty pounds. As the saying goes, the wings are so big, they can't fit in one pot.

Zhang Tuohai took out a piece of cloth, made a bundle, packed everything inside, and carried it on his back.

After dealing with these items, Zhang Tuohai used a high-powered flashlight to illuminate the surroundings, checking out his location.

He discovered he was in a pitch-black stone chamber, surrounded by dark brick walls, which appeared to have aged for many years and were covered in dust.

About two meters away was a decayed carved wooden door, and who knew what lay behind it.

Above him was a ceiling with faded murals, but they had weathered over time, making it impossible to see what they depicted.

There was a hole in the ceiling above, which was where he had fallen in from.

However, the ceiling was over three meters high, and Zhang Tuohai definitely couldn’t climb up on his own.

“System, is there a way out of here?” Zhang Tuohai asked in a low voice.

[Proceed straight through the wooden door, continue along the passageway to the end, and do not enter the rooms on either side.]

“Are you sure there’s no danger?”

[As long as you don’t enter the rooms on either side, there will be no danger.]

Alright then.

Zhang Tuohai slung the bundle over his shoulder and pushed the carved wooden door with the broken spear.

Crash!

Perhaps because of the years gone by, the door hinges had rotted, and the carved wooden door fell over instantly.

A cloud of dust was kicked up.

Cough, cough, cough!

Zhang Tuohai tore off a piece of cloth, used it as a mask to cover his mouth and nose, and barely managed to block the rising dust.

Though a makeshift mask made of ordinary cloth couldn’t compare to a professional mask, it was barely enough to block the dust.

Holding the flashlight in one hand and the half-broken hunting spear in the other, Zhang Tuohai stepped through the fallen carved wooden door.

Behind the door was a long, dark corridor.

On both sides of the corridor were many wooden doors, each with a small plaque displaying twisted writing.

Although curious about what was behind the doors, Zhang Tuohai remembered the system's warning and resolutely refrained from touching any of them.

The corridor was very long, and it took Zhang Tuohai a full ten minutes to reach the end.

At the end of the corridor was another carved wooden door.

“What should I do?” Zhang Tuohai asked in a low voice.

[Just push it open.]

“Got it.”

With the system’s guidance, there was nothing to fear.

Zhang Tuohai jabbed the carved wooden door with the hunting spear, and it opened with a grating sound.

Behind the door was a room filled with wooden shelves haphazardly holding what looked like scrolls.

There were also many scattered papers on the floor.

Zhang Tuohai tapped the papers with the spear, and as soon as the spear touched them, the papers turned to dust and vanished.

Unconvinced, Zhang Tuohai swept through several shelves with the spear.

Unfortunately, the papers couldn’t withstand the ravages of time and all turned to dust.

Just as Zhang Tuohai was feeling disheartened and was about to give up, he noticed the scroll touched by the spear didn’t disintegrate; instead, it shook slightly.

“Found something!” Zhang Tuohai was overjoyed and reached out to grab it.

However, midway through reaching out, he pulled his hand back.

“System, is there a problem with this scroll? Is there any poison or deadly bacteria on it?”

[The scroll itself is safe with no lethal toxins. However, it contains various viruses, so it’s recommended to wash your hands with soap after touching it.]

With the system's assurance, Zhang Tuohai was relieved.

Still, he used a piece of cloth to wrap the scroll up.

[Sausage Maker Blueprint: Put meat and flour into it, and it will automatically produce sausages.]

[Materials needed: 20 units of metal ingots, 40 units of metal parts, 10 units of metal scraps, 4 units of glass, 4 units of plastic, 1 unit of electronic components.]

[Note: You can make sausages from meat, but don’t try to turn sausages back into meat.]

“That note was unnecessary; who would be dumb enough to try and turn sausages back into meat?” Zhang Tuohai scoffed, but still happily put away the blueprint.

With this, the wolf meat and giant eagle meat in his possession wouldn’t have to be wasted as cracklings. They could all be made into sausages for preservation.

Zhang Tuohai continued searching but found that except for the scroll, which was made of parchment and thus preserved, all the other documents had turned to dust.

“At least I got something; it’s not a loss!” Zhang Tuohai sighed, looking at the room's only exit, a closed wooden door.

This wooden door was clearly sturdier than the others, reinforced with iron strips.

Zhang Tuohai tried pushing it with the spear, but the door didn’t budge.

“System, this door won’t open. How do I get out?”

[Kick it hard!]

The system’s response was unusually brief.

“Alright then!”

With the system’s backing, Zhang Tuohai took two steps back and delivered a flying kick to the door.

Thud!

Crack!

The door shuddered, and the sound of something breaking came from behind.

“It’s giving way!”

Zhang Tuohai’s eyes lit up, and he repeated the move.

Bang!

The door was kicked open, and a decayed bolt fell to the ground.

“No wonder I couldn’t push it open; it was bolted from the outside.”

Zhang Tuohai stepped through the doorway, surprised to find himself outside in a sunken area with the scorching sun shining down on him. In front of him was a purple crate.

[Level 3 Supply Crate discovered.]

“Wow! A purple crate!”

Zhang Tuohai couldn’t believe his eyes and rubbed them.

He never expected to find a purple crate here.

However, he didn’t have a crowbar, so he could only take the crate back to open it.

Zhang Tuohai quickly picked up the crate and took it back to his vehicle.

Bang!

The purple crate was pried open by Zhang Tuohai.

Inside were two blueprints and a card.

[Remington M870 Blueprint: An excellent self-defense weapon. With it, any enemy will stay away. Best shotgun range within 50 meters, effective range of a slug up to 200 meters.]

[Materials needed: 2 units of metal ingots, 18 units of metal parts, 1 unit of mid-grade wood.]

[12-Gauge Shotgun Shell Blueprint: Standard ammunition for the Remington. Contains 12 pellets, with a maximum scatter area of 9 square meters.]

[Materials needed: 12 units of metal scraps, 1 unit of metal parts.]

[Note: Scatter area increases with distance.]
