Rising Shadows: Uchiha's Wrath

Chapter 70: Chapter 69

Kaito smiled at the sight. Now this was a real fight.

With a sharp command, Kaito controlled Susanoo to swing its massive blade with unparalleled ferocity.

"Boom!"

The deafening impact echoed through the battlefield, leaving a deep scar on the ground to Kaito's right, stretching tens of meters. The sheer power of the attack sent shivers down the spines of the gathered ninja, their fear palpable. It felt as though Susanoo's blade might descend upon their heads at any moment, bringing swift and unavoidable destruction. Among the Mizunin, hundreds stood frozen—escape was impossible, resistance even more so.

Yagura clenched his fists, his fury boiling over. The edge of Kirigakure was no longer a sanctuary, and with his rage overriding caution, he called out to the presence within him.

"Isobu, lend me all your strength!"

But there was no response. Unknown to Yagura, the three-tailed beast had already succumbed to Obito's control, rendering Yagura a puppet as well. Still, waves of chakra surged uncontrollably into his body, the power building to an almost uncontainable level. Obito's subtle manipulations prevented Yagura from questioning Isobu's silence.

Empowered by the full force of the three tails, Yagura's body transformed dramatically. The crimson chakra erupted like a flood, enveloping the area and towering over the battlefield at a height of more than twenty meters. Within moments, the vibrant energy shifted to a dull gray, taking form. A massive, spiked turtle with three tails materialized—Isobu's true form had emerged.

Kaito's lips curled into a grin as he witnessed the transformation.

"Now, this is getting interesting," he said with a glint of excitement.

Yagura's voice, distorted and filled with malice, echoed across the field.

"Uchiha Kaito, you'll regret attacking Kirigakure. This will be the worst decision of your life!"

He roared, launching into his attack.

"Behold my move—Eclipse Shell!"

Yagura coiled his massive form, his hardened shell bristling with power, and spun toward Kaito like a devastating wheel of destruction. The impact was thunderous as Susanoo's blade met the charging beast.

"Bang!"

Kaito staggered backward under the force of the collision, his Susanoo trembling from the impact. Meanwhile, Yagura's transformed form seemed unscathed.

"Second form Susanoo isn't enough? So be it," Kaito murmured, narrowing his eyes.

His voice carried a quiet determination, and his crimson Sharingan burned brighter.

"Let's take this further. Third, fourth—no, we'll go all the way!"

Golden energy surged around Susanoo as it began to change. Towering higher and higher, the spectral warrior grew legs, its form stabilizing into a fully realized giant that loomed over the battlefield at an astonishing 100 meters. A layer of dense, golden armor encased it, shimmering with an almost divine aura. Massive wings unfurled from its back, amplifying its majesty.

The spectators were struck with awe and terror. The immense Susanoo made Isobu look small in comparison. Even hardened warriors found themselves questioning if what they were witnessing was still within the realm of human power.

Yagura faltered, his confidence wavering as he stared at the colossal figure before him. Though he appeared unscathed from their previous clash, his body told a different story. The hardness of his shell had protected him from external damage, but internally, the collision had sent shockwaves rippling through his body. He fought the urge to cough up blood, his resolve shaken.

"This… this power is beyond anything I've ever seen," Yagura thought, his voice trembling with disbelief.

For the first time, hesitation clouded his actions. He no longer dared to confront Kaito's fully powered Susanoo directly.

Kaito's grin widened as he observed Yagura's fear.

"You've barely scratched the surface of my true strength," he whispered to himself. With both Sage Chakra and the Nine-Tails' power still at his disposal, he knew the battle had only begun.

Kaito clenched his fists with excitement, and his fully realized Susanoo mirrored the action, its colossal hands tightening into fists that radiated immense power.

At this stage, Kaito's movements were perfectly synchronized with Susanoo, allowing the gigantic construct to utilize ninjutsu as an extension of his will. With the completed form, Susanoo's strength had multiplied dozens of times over. Staring at the comparatively smaller three-tailed Yagura in the distance, Kaito smirked, confident that he could shatter that supposedly impenetrable shell with ease.

Raising a hand in mock invitation, Kaito called out, his voice laced with a taunting edge.

"Come on, let's keep this going!"

Yagura, fully transformed into the three-tailed beast, let out an enraged roar in response. However, his massive form remained stationary. He hesitated—an uncharacteristic caution overtaking him. It was clear he didn't dare engage directly.

Seeing Yagura's reluctance, Kaito sneered.

"What's the matter? If you won't come to me, then I'll come to you!"

With that, Susanoo drew its massive blade and launched forward, closing the distance in the blink of an eye. The ground trembled beneath its charge, and in an instant, Kaito was upon Yagura.

Caught off guard, Yagura hurriedly curled into his shell and rolled away, narrowly evading the blade's devastating arc. However, he wasn't quick enough to avoid total harm—one of his three tails was severed cleanly by Susanoo's strike.

"Gyaaah!"

A blood-curdling scream erupted from Yagura, the pain striking him to his core. As a jinchūriki, the three-tails' nerves were intertwined with his own, and the loss of a tail sent a searing agony coursing through his spine. His body shuddered, the pain momentarily overwhelming him.

"Damn it! At this rate, I'm going to die!" Yagura thought, panic clawing at his resolve.

Forcing himself to suppress the pain, he began strategizing, his thoughts racing as he worked to calm the turmoil within. Meanwhile, the severed tail began to regenerate, the chakra making up the beast's form pulling itself back together. Slowly, two new tails sprouted, easing the pain somewhat.

Jinchūriki possessed one key advantage: as the tailed beasts were entities of pure chakra, their bodies could recover rapidly from damage by expending their reserves. But Yagura knew this regenerative ability wasn't infinite, nor was it sustainable.

"I can't maintain this three-tailed state much longer," Yagura realized, sweat dripping down his brow.

His gaze locked onto Kaito, whose golden Susanoo stood unyielding, radiating dominance.

"I don't know how long he can keep that form active, but I can't afford to drag this out. If I have any chance of survival, it'll have to come down to a single decisive blow!"

With this in mind, Yagura prepared himself for the gamble of his life, his expression a mixture of determination and desperation.

Realizing his options were dwindling, Yagura stopped hesitating. Summoning his remaining chakra, he used his swift clone technique, but not to attack—instead, to put distance between himself and Kaito.

In mere moments, the three-tailed Yagura had retreated over a hundred meters. Kaito, observing this with mild interest, made no move to pursue him.

"Running away?" he muttered, amused. With the power of his Susanoo, the distance was meaningless; he could close the gap with a mere thought. For now, he chose to see what Yagura was planning.

When Yagura stopped two hundred meters away, Kaito noticed his opponent had gathered an immense amount of chakra. Slowly, dark purple energy began condensing above Yagura, swirling ominously into a massive form.

"A Tailed Beast Bomb, huh?" Kaito mused, a tinge of disappointment in his voice. "I was hoping for something more original."

Despite his mockery, Kaito remained cautious. The amount of chakra Yagura poured into this attack was overwhelming—it was clearly his last-ditch effort, a move of pure desperation.

"So, you're going all in? Fine," Kaito said, his eyes narrowing. "Let's end this."

Kaito's Susanoo raised its colossal blade high, golden energy beginning to converge at the tip. A dense aura of chakra and intent surrounded the sword, radiating power that made even seasoned Mist Shinobi tremble.

Those observing the battle held their breath. Onlookers like Terumi Mei were calm, confident that Kaito would prevail. The Mist Shinobi, on the other hand, were filled with dread, uncertain of their future should Yagura fall. Some, like the scheming Fuguki Suikazan, had already begun plotting their next moves, seeing Yagura's defeat as inevitable.

As Yagura roared in defiance, the Tailed Beast Bomb was unleashed. The massive sphere of chakra tore through the landscape, crushing boulders, trees, and everything in its path, carving a devastating trench as it hurtled toward Kaito.

For a moment, silence engulfed the battlefield.

Then, as the Tailed Beast Bomb closed in, Kaito moved. With a single, fluid motion, he swung his Susanoo's blade downward, unleashing a golden wave of energy that ripped through the air faster than sound.

The result was instantaneous and catastrophic. The golden slash cleaved the Tailed Beast Bomb cleanly in two, the two halves veering off course and detonating far from their target. The sheer force of the explosions shook the battlefield, but it was overshadowed by what came next.

Kaito's golden sword energy continued its destructive path, striking Yagura directly. In an instant, the three-tailed jinchūriki was split in half, his chakra form dissipating. The sword wave continued beyond him, carving a deep chasm through the mountains behind the Mist Village. The resulting shockwave split a peak in two, causing an avalanche that buried the surrounding area.

The battlefield fell silent once more, the enormity of Kaito's power leaving everyone stunned.

Even as Yagura collapsed to the ground, reverting to his human form, Kaito showed no sign of mercy. His Susanoo stepped forward, the earth quaking with every movement, until he stood over Yagura's unconscious body.

Without hesitation, Kaito seized Yagura with Susanoo's massive hand, lifting him into the air.

"You could control the Three-Tails," Kaito said, his voice calm yet cold. "In another time, that might've made you formidable."

His crimson eyes gleamed ominously. "But to me, tailed beasts are nothing more than pets... and you're just another broken toy."

Kaito's Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan flared to life, its overwhelming pupil force invading Yagura's mind, tearing through his psyche with ruthless efficiency. Within moments, Kaito located the Three-Tails' spiritual form—a massive, chained beast in a dark, foul-smelling void.

"So, this is your sealed world?" Kaito remarked, unimpressed. "It's time to take what I came for."

With an unyielding grip on Yagura's consciousness, Kaito began extracting the Three-Tails' essence, his domination complete.

Kaito curled his lips in disdain as he observed the state of the seal binding the Three-Tails.

"Compared to Konoha's sealing techniques, this is pathetic," Kaito muttered. "The Mist Village seal is so fragile it's no wonder their jinchūriki go berserk so often."

He briefly thought about the other major ninja villages and concluded they likely suffered from the same problem. In contrast, Konoha had "inherited" the Uzumaki clan's powerful sealing legacy. The destruction of the Uzumaki clan had always puzzled Kaito, but deep down, he was certain it was orchestrated by Hiruzen Sarutobi and Danzo Shimura.

"With Danzo's track record of conspiracies, it wouldn't be surprising," Kaito scoffed. "That man carries the title of 'Universal Scapegoat' for a reason. Any unresolved injustice in the ninja world? Just blame Danzo, and you'll probably be right."

Kaito chuckled darkly, thinking about Sarutobi and Danzo's scheming partnership. "Together, they were like the comedy duo of the ninja world—if you could laugh at tragedy."

Shaking off the thought, Kaito focused his attention back on the task at hand. The Three-Tails was still conscious but its gaze was vacant and dull, as though its mind had been erased. This was the clear result of being trapped in a genjutsu.

"What a disappointing creature," Kaito remarked. "Even a tailed beast with this much power can be subdued so easily. You really think you're some sort of unstoppable force?"

The corners of Kaito's mouth twitched into a mocking grin as he prepared to extract the Three-Tails' chakra and assert total dominance over the situation.
