Rise Online: Return of the Legendary Player

Chapter 881: Third Circle, Cerberus (Part 3)

The Cerberus' left head hit the ground with a resounding impact, causing the ice beneath his feet to crack and split.

The roar of pain and frustration echoed across the icy fields, a terrifying cacophony that reverberated in Og'tharoz's gut. He felt the tremor in the chains that held the beast, the runes pulsing with an arcane energy that kept the creature contained, if only momentarily.

The Cerberus' left head tried to rise, its flaming eyes fixed on Alina, who was running away to try and gain a safe distance from the enraged beast. The left head's sharp teeth were showing, its jaw still trembling from the impact of the blow against the ground. The pain evident in the head's expression did not deter her, but fueled her anger.

"You will pay dearly for this, elf mage!" growled the left head, its voice resounding like distant thunder.

Og'tharoz held his ground, his eyes blazing with fierce determination. He knew that every second gained was crucial.

Alina needed time to complete the enchantment on the chains, a spell that had been carefully planned to trap Cerberus long enough for them to pass. Og'tharoz couldn't let the creature reach her.

However, the Cerberus, in its rage, began to pull against the chains with tremendous force, causing the ground to shake and cracks to spread across the ice.

The beast was angry and wanted to reach Alina. Explore more at m,v l'e-m|p| y r

"Pull it now!" shouted Og'tharoz, his gaze fixed on the creature.

Suddenly, the Cerberus' right head turned sharply, its flaming eyes fixed on an approaching figure. A man in shining white armor, whose presence emanated an intense light. He wielded a pair of gauntlets of light, and with a decisive movement he pulled the right chain down, forcing Cerberus' right head to bow.

The impact was also brutal. The right head was dragged downwards, its teeth clawing at the ice as the creature struggled to resist.

The roar of rage from this Cerberus head was deafening, a mixture of pain and indignation.

However, Andrew, the man in the white armor, with implacable determination, held the chain with superhuman strength, the runes glowing brightly with the magic he invoked.

"Just a little longer, Og'tharoz!" shouted Andrew, his words sounding like a command and an encouragement. "Alina needs more time!"

Alina, meanwhile, was running towards the next stream, another one to the left, where there was an iron stake driven into the ground. This one was more in Cerberus' sight, so she couldn't be the first. She knew that every second counted, and that any mistake could mean their death or something even worse.

Her eyes shone with determination as she began to recite the arcane words, her hands moving quickly to inscribe additional runes on the chain.

"Quickly, Alina!" shouted Og'tharoz, trying to keep the Cerberus's attention focused on him.

The central head of the Cerberus, sensing the growing threat, growled furiously and tried to advance, but as Andrew was still pulling the chain to the right, it couldn't do so.

The monster was trapped, but its fury was palpable, and the opposite movement Andrew made was enough to make the chains jingle.

"I am the guardian of this circle, and no mortal or immortal shall pass without my consent!" The central head said and bit the neck of the left head, making it finally realize what was happening and look back.

Thus, the left head noticed that it wasn't able to move forward because it was desperately trying to catch up with Alina while the right head wanted to catch up with the man who was pulling the chain on the right, so Cerberus wasn't moving.

"Think!" The central head said, let's finish off this human user of holy magic first and then we'll get the sorceress.

The left head nodded, but just as Cerberus' central head was preparing to coordinate the attack on Andrew, a sharp sound cut through the air like a razor-sharp blade, followed by a deafening crash that echoed through the icy mountains. All eyes turned to the stone gate behind the monster, where a sharp object had just created a large hole.

The three heads of the Cerberus quickly turned forward, and their flaming eyes locked onto the figure of a man standing at a considerable distance. He had black hair, broad shoulders and relatively light armor, but his confident stance was what gave him a fearsome air. It was Kaizen, a renowned warrior known for his exceptional skills and unparalleled courage.

However, something was wrong. Although he was still in a position, there was nothing else in his hand.

Instead of Kaizen hitting the head, he missed and seemed surprised by the miss, because his gaze briefly shifted to the hole the spear he threw made before turning back to Cerberus.

"I'm sorry, Lily, I didn't use the blood spear you made for me with the precision it deserved. I don't know how I missed such a big target. I promise to make up for it next time," Kaizen muttered, casting a quick glance at the woman in red armor standing next to him.

Bloody Lily nodded. "It's okay, I'll give you another chance."

"Thanks for that."

Blood Lily then opened her right palm and a red, flaming energy began to form. At first, the object created was just a dense, crimson-tinged sphere, but it quickly began to stretch and elongate, creating a menacing aura around it.

When the object finally reached the size of a long stick, Bloody Lily lightly passed her other hand through one of the ends and a pointed part began to take shape, until it was finally ready.

As an Evolved, Blood Lily's abilities had transcended the limits of mere mortals. The spear, crafted entirely from her own blood, possessed a unique and deadly quality. Its surface glistened with a mesmerizing sheen, akin to polished metal, but there was an ethereal aura surrounding it that hinted at its extraordinary nature.

The sharpness of the spear was unparalleled, capable of slicing through even the toughest of armor with ease.

The crimson hue of the spear seemed to pulse with a life of its own, as if it hungered for battle and the taste of victory. It was a truly awe-inspiring weapon, a testament to Blood Lily's power and the depths of her evolution.

Kaizen then picked up the spear and prepared to throw it.
