Stalkers (1)
Present day
Hero City- Robur Kingdom, Caelum Empire
7AM
Adonis stepped out of his dormitory, dressed in rather casual attire: a long-sleeved cream tunic paired with a pair of black pants.
'I should set off the academy's alarm more often, these days off are amazing.' He chuckled.
{I knew you were lazy, but never to this extent.}
'I deserve a day off Lord Eos.'
{You had one two days ago!}
'True, but two more days won't hurt.'
{Bum.}
'What?'
{You're a lazy bum!}
Locking the door behind him, Adonis headed down the corridor towards the cafeteria.
'Hmm...I haven't actually decided what I'm going to do today.'
{Train.}
Hearing the deity's words, Adonis couldn't help but shudder.
The issue wasn't training in itself; instead, it was the intensity that the Devil God constantly demanded from him.
'Right...' He sighed.
With a solemn expression on his face, Adonis entered the crowded cafeteria.
The teenage boy walked up to the large counter, his finger aimed at the meal he desired.
"Ostrich omlet with extra cheese and veggies, please." With a swift motion, he used his finance necklace to complete the payment.
'I'm guessing Max is still asleep.' Scanning the large cafeteria, Adonis noticed that Maxwell wasn't present.
'Hiram is also probably eating in the staffroom.' He sighed.
{Seems like you're back to your loner ways.}
'I am NOT a loner!' Adonis retaliated.
"Your food is ready." The old lady at the counter announced.
'Hm? That was quick.'
"Thank you..." Picking his tray of food off of the counter, Adonis flashed a gentle smile.
The boy took a seat near the edge of the cafeteria, embracing the warm sunlight that penetrated the window.
"Thank you for the meal..." He muttered.
{Since when do you say grace.}
'I don't know, I just think it's a nice habit to have.' He chuckled.
{Who're you thanking anyway?}
'The ostrich that gave up its eggs and the cooks who made it.'
{You should be thanking m-}
'Yeah yeah... Thank the almighty Devil God.' He thought sarcastically.
{I don't like your tone mortal!}
***
'Is that Vindicta?' Sitting opposite her sister, Veda peaked at Adonis from the corner of her eye.
"What's wrong?" Vera asked, picking up her knife and fork once more.
"Nothing..."
'I can't let Vera see him, something weird happens with her everytime she sees that idiot.'
'What does she see in him anyway, there's nothing good about him other than his looks and strength. He gives me a bad feeling...' Veda continued.
"Veda, do you not like your eggs?" Vera asked concernedly, her crimson eyes fixed on Veda's plate.
"No, they're good." Veda clarified, using the fork in her mouth to take a large bite.
***
'He's finally here... Why's he alone?' Drinking a cup of hot coffee, Amber studied Adonis from the other side of the room.
SLURP
'It doesn't matter, it just makes this easier.'
***
After swiftly devouring his food, Adonis stood up from his seat.
'That was good!'
{Can you even taste the food? You eat like an animal.}
'Hehe!' Adonis placed his tray in the dirty dish cart and made his way toward the door.
***
'He's leaving...' Taking one huge gulp of her coffee, lightly scorching her throat in the process, Amber stood up.
'It's you isn't it? You're the damon Adonis Vindicta!' Leaving her ceramic cup on the table,
Amber trailed behind the boy, determined to confirm her suspicions.
***
'He's leaving...' Surprised at the boy's eating speed, Veda abruptly stood up.
"Veda?" Vera raised her eyebrow.
"I just remembered I promised to spend the morning with Cecil." She nervously chuckled.
"It's fine, you can leave." Vera smiled, slightly jealous over her sister's relationship.
"Sorry Vera... I'll speak to you later?"
"Yep!"
"Okay... Bye!"
"Wait, Veda..."
"What's up?" Scared that she might've spotted Adonis, Veda snapped her head back.
"Can I have your eggs?" Vera asked sweetly.
"Yeah..." Refusing to lose sight of Adonis, Veda picked up the pace and pushed past the crowd.
"Thanks...Have fun!" Her focus now on Veda's plate, Vera lunged forward.
"Let's see what you have to hide Adonis Vindicta... I'll prove that you aren't worthy of my sister!" Veda whispered, following closely behind the boy.
***
After leaving the cafeteria, Adonis made his way toward the Laetita District of the academy. An area of expansive grass and trees adorned with numerous wooden benches, making it a favourite recreation spot among students of all years.
'I miss Minnie.' Adonis frowned.
{...}
Arriving at a bench surrounded by dozens of trees, Adonis looked up into the air.
"Minnie." He whispered.
PUPUPUP PUPUPUP
Answering Adonis's call was a rapid beating of small wings accompanied by a black blur that whizzed through the air.
Landing on the boy's dishevled purple hair was a bat-like beast with large horns and wings.
***
Hiding in a tree above Adonis, Amber scowled, her golden eyes struggling to discern the beast's identity.
"A magic beast?" She whispered.
***
In a nearby bush behind a bench, Veda arched her eyebrows.
"Are pets even allowed?"
***
"You've gotten bigger!" Raising his eyes towards Minnie, Adonis smiled.
"KSK KSK KSK!"
"How many magic crystals have you eaten since the outing?"
"ksk ksk ksk"
"Ten? Don't tell me you went back to the forest."
"ksk ksk ksk"
"I'm not mad, just worried. You need to be more careful."
"ksk ksk ksk"
"I'm not doubting your capabilities." Adonis chuckled.
"ksk ksk ksk."
"You've gotten stronger?"
"Now that I think about it... I've never seen you fight. You always just appear with crystals."
"ksk ksk ksk."
"Hehe, you're quite confident. "
"ksk ksk ksk."
"Show me what you've got." Adonis grinned.
***
"That magic beast... What is it?" Veda whispered.
***
"..." Amber remained silent, studying Adonis's every move.
***
PUPUP PUPUP
Batting his wings softly, Minnie ascended off of Adonis's head and moved infront of him.
"Are you sure you want to do this Minnie?"
"KSK KSK!"
"Okay, give me my spatial ring then."
Following Adonis's command, Minnie ejected a silver ring out of his mouth, the piece of jewelry moving at remarkable speed towards the teenage boy.
Flaunting his superhuman reflexes, Adonis swiftly caught the spacial ring.
"Begin!" He announced.
PUPUP PUPUP
Moving at a frightening speed, Minnie approached the boy's head with the claws on his feet poised.
"Not even letting me put on my ring? How dirty..." Adonis teased, moving out of the beast's trajectory.
"KSK KSK KSK!"
"I'm kidding, I know I'm the one who said begin." Adonis chuckled, placing the silver ring on his middle finger.
Using his spatial ring, Adonis summoned a long wooden stick.
"Okay... Try not to kill me okay?"
"Ksk ksk."
"What do you mean, no promises!" Adonis complained.
Minnie changed direction and darted towards Adonis's abdomen, his horns ready to impale his owner.
PUPUP PUPUP
WHOOSH
Adonis swung his wooden stick lightly towards the beast's horns, deflecting the attack effectively.
"Ksk ksk." Frustrated that his attack didn't succeed, Minnie pivoted his body mid-air and opened his mouth in Adonis's direction.
PFFFF
Shocking Adonis, the beast ejected a visible green gas out of its mouth that headed straight for his face.
"Hm?"
'This is... Arbour Abomination gas?' Instead of avoiding the gas entirely, Adonis dashed straight through it.
"KSK KSK?!" Shocked, his attack had no effect, Minnie flew backwards, creating distance between Adonis and himself.
"So that's how you beat those monsters and magic beasts." Acknowledging the beast's strength, Adonis swung his stick in his direction, determined to knock Minnie straight out of the air.
"Ksk ksk." Reacting swiftly, Minnie twisted his small body, skillfully dodging Adonis's stick.
WHOOSH
He then cleverly utilized the edge of his large onyx wings to cleave off a portion of it with precision.
SLASH
"Not bad..." Proud of his companion's attack, Adonis thrust his open palm forward, towards Minnie's frame.
WHOOSH
Accurately predicting Adonis's trajectory, Minnie ducked under Adonis's attack and launched his legs upwards, towards his outstretched arm.
"Don't get too eager Minnie." Shaking his head, Adonis utilized his shortened stick once more, swatting Minnie away towards a nearby tree.
WACK
"KSK KSK?!" Startled by Adonis's sudden movement, Minnie halted his flight by batting his wings repeatedly, preventing his collision.
'Minnie's smarter than other magic beasts, he's able to accurately predict movement...' He smirked.
"Don't tell me you've already given up." Adonis taunted.
"KSK KSK!"
"Then what're you waiting for?"
"KSK KSK!" Batting his wings violently, Minnie shot towards Adonis.
PUPUP PUPUP
Attacking first, Adonis swung his stick diagonally from top to bottom, towards Minnie's approaching form.
WHOOSH
Unbothered by Adonis's assault, Minnie swiftly moved to the side, allowing the stick to pass right by him.
Stealing the initiative, Minnie propelled towards Adonis's neck, determined to impale him mercilessly.
"That's not very friendly..." Reacting appropriately, Adonis ducked out of the way, letting Minnie pass right by him.
"Ksk ksk." Frustrated by Adonis's speed, Minnie lowered his neck and met Adonis's lowered head, opening his mouth.
'Is he unable to comprehend that toxins don't work against me.'
"AWOOOOO!" From Minnie's small mouth emerged a powerful wave of energy, hurtling at a frightening speed toward Adonis's undefended head.
'A Sonic Wolf's howl?'Adonis widened his eyes in astonishment and shifted his head, effortlessly evading the attack.
"Okay...We're done." Upon dodging the sudden attack, Adonis snatched the beast right out the air, moving at an untraceable speed in Minnie's eyes.
