Chapter 203: Death
Upon clearing out all the obstacles, the Harbinger's killing intent rose increasingly. Its strength reached its peak, clearly wanting to end it at this moment.
"Watch out!" Jeff hurriedly shouted in a warning, hoping that Xu Feng could promptly defend himself in time, even if the possibility was grim.
He could sense the surge of power rising up from the Harbinger.
Meanwhile, Carmen, who had been struggling, gritted her teeth and started to cast spells amidst the turbulence of the wind.
Resisting the pressure, she managed to activate her spells and launched them toward the Harbinger.
And as if a miracle happened, the spell landed right at the underbelly of the Harbinger.
"Success!" Carmen exclaimed, thinking that she had halted its advance toward Xu Feng.
However, her excitement quickly died once Jeff shook his head and commented, "No, it's too shallow."
Sure enough, once Carmen glanced at the Harbinger's underbelly again, she realized it was completely unscathed, almost as if it wasn't attacked in the first place.
"Your level is too low to deal sufficient damage to its high defenses," Jeff explained, knowing that it was too late to save Xu Feng. Thus, he could only remain here and divert the wind turbulence from harming her.
Since it was clear that Xu Feng's end was inevitable, he had at the very least, needed to ensure Carmen's safety who was next to him.
"No, I refuse to just let it happen." A fierce expression appeared on her face, clearly adamant about saving Xu Feng.
Ignoring the wind turbulence damaging her by stepping out of Jeff's protection zone, she proceeded to summon two Elementalists, using them as a medium to cast spells more accurately at the Harbinger.
Although the damage would be reduced by a lot by using the Elementalists, her accuracy would increase in return. It was better to land her spells than use a powerful spell, only to end up missing.
However, the Harbinger would be foolish to not be alerted by Carmen's actions.
With a screech, it manipulated the Tempest Fury to gather around Carmen.
The wind turbulence and current caused Carmen's armor to nearly rip apart as her health points dropped at a rapid rate.
At the same time, her spells were canceled by the Harbinger's action, causing her to receive a momentary stun status, unable to move.
Thankfully, Jeff reacted in time to help deflect the subsequent wind currents from harming Carmen further.
As for the Harbinger, it resumed its attention on Xu Feng, who was still remaining in the same position.
Without anyone hindering it this time, the Harbinger proceeded to dove straight toward Xu Feng at an incredible speed. When it noticed Xu Feng merely stood still, thrill and excitement aroused it further, clearly believing the latter had given up on life.
"Let's die together!" Xu Feng mumbled, taking the attack head-on, instantly causing his health to plummet below 5%.
The Harbinger, having believed it had dealt a fatal blow, continued to advance forward, unaware of its current position.
"Since you love using your beak to attack, then I shall clip your wings in return." Xu Feng snickered, casting Sacred Fire and throwing it beneath his feet.

Flames erupted around him, forming a barrier of searing heat. The Harbinger, caught off guard by the sudden burst of fire, screeched in pain as its wings caught fire.
Xu Feng's eyes glinted with determination as he watched the mighty creature struggle, its movements becoming frantic.
Shortly after, the Harbinger lost its wings movement from being able to ascend to the sky whereas Xu Feng's remaining 5% health dropped to 0 from self-infliction of the flames.
System: You have died!
That was a prompt that most players would see upon meeting their first death, but unlike most, there was an additional prompt available.
Additionally, he was sent to some sort of realm where his surroundings were in complete darkness.
Glancing around and seeing nothing aside from the dark, Xu Feng suddenly laughed.
"How long has it been since I came to this realm again?" He questioned, amused by the situation.
It had been a long time since he was killed once he climbed to the upper echelon of the Reaver Guild. Thus, he nearly forgot the feeling and familiarity of how it felt to die in battle.
Nevertheless, he obtained something that he never got in his past timeline as his eyes glanced at the prompt.
System: It has been detected that you possess the skill [Divine Resurrection]! Would you like to use it and revive yourself?
Contrary to most players, when they die, they go into a cooldown phase and during that cooldown timer, a healer could subsequently resurrect them using the skill [Revive], unlockable at level 5.
These healers could revive others, but they can never revive themselves.
Of course, Xu Feng was not your average healer as he readily accepted to activate the skill, Divine Resurrection.
Why else would he attempt to die together with the Harbinger?
Others might not know, but he won't receive any death penalty when activating this particular skill.
Shortly after activating the skill, Xu Feng dissipated into numerous particles, exiting the darkness realm as his vision soon regained clarity.
"You didn't die?"
The first thing he heard was a familiar voice, wondering how he didn't die.
Adjusting his glasses, Xu Feng turned to Carmen and smiled, "Didn't I tell you from the start? I'm quite the expert myself. Have you seen an expert fall?"
"Yes," Carmen flatly replied, stumping Xu Feng.
Faking a cough, Xu Feng ignored her and continued, "Anyway, what's the situation now?"
"Right… After the two of you were engulfed in flames, the beast's wings were ruined, it could no longer fly. Jeff is now confronting the beast on ground level and I was supporting from the side." Carmen quickly relayed the event that he had missed.
At the same time, she felt somewhat relieved that Xu Feng didn't die and respawn in some other towns.
"I see…" Xu Feng nodded his head, gazing at the battle where the Harbinger was now the one struggling. "At least my fake death didn't go in vain."
