Chapter 201: Dominion Rend
Dazed, baffled, stunned, and numerous mixes of emotions flooded Carmen all at once. She was unable to respond to Xu Feng's question for a few seconds.
Carmen swallowed a mouthful of saliva before asking, "H-How did you deflect the attack?"
"How?" Xu Feng raised an eyebrow before pointing at her. "Isn't it all thanks to you?"

"Me?" Carmen pointed at herself, twitching her brows.
"Yeah, if you didn't give the EXP Potion to me for free, then how was I supposed to level up and save you?" Xu Feng teased and turned to the Skyrazor Harbinger.
"Anyway, let's save the idle talk for later and begin our counterattack."
"You know how to defeat it?"
Carmen's eyes were practically glistening, almost as if she couldn't wait to hear the plan for defeating this despicable beast. After all, it was dishonorable and targeted her despite fighting Jeff earlier.
Unfortunately though, what she received instead was a light flickered to the forehead as Xu Feng explained, "Not defeat, but drive it away."
Rubbing her forehead, Carmen was vividly confused by the explanation.
"Why are we driving it away?" She questioned, her eyes staring at the shadow creature capable of hindering the Harbinger. In her mind, it was clearly possible to defeat and kill the beast.
'Ignorance sure is bliss.' Xu Feng thought to himself, noticing her gaze. On the surface, it seemed like the shadow creature he summoned through the Tier 2 Skill, Dark Pact, was capable of contending with it.
However, the truth was, the shadow creature's health was pathetically low when compared to the Harbinger. It wasn't an exaggeration to say the shadow creature's health wasn't even one-fifth of the Harbinger's health.
After all, the shadow creature's health points took after his, and with his level as 6, he didn't even want to mention how far it was compared to the beast.
"Jeff, use the opportunity I created and use your strongest attack." Xu Feng turned to him and instructed. "There's no need to kill it, but you need to frighten it enough to make the beast flee."
Had it been a ground-type beast and not an aerial type, they could totally kill it.
It was a shame to waste many resources just to drive a beast away, but it was definitely better than getting killed or returning empty-handed.
"I understand," he responded. Jeff was also an experienced mercenary, so he knew fairly well what Xu Feng's instructions were.
He derived the same judgment, but to voice it out was kind of difficult.
Unlike Xu Feng who didn't have to worry about anything, he had a reputation to uphold, especially when he was being paid for the job.
Shortly after, Jeff seized the chance that the shadow creature had created for him. With a large kick to the ground, Jeff propelled himself upward.
As he ascended toward the sky, Jeff raised his arm, swinging his battle axe, aiming and targeting the Harbinger's underbelly.
Alarmed, the Harbinger quickly sensed danger and attempted to fling the shadow creature away from its proximity.
Alas, how could Xu Feng allow it to easily get away?
"Carmen, now!" He instructed.
"Understood." She responded, followed by throwing numerous spells toward the Harbinger.
Despite multiple of them whiffing, it was good enough to serve as obstacles for the Harbinger, prompting it to be unable to deflect so many upcoming attacks at once.
SCREECH!
A loud screeching sound was released by the Harbinger, and with increased strength, it managed to fling the shadow creature away momentarily from pestering it.
Afterward, it twisted itself in mid-air, dodging the attack from Jeff with an agility that belied its massive size.
"Tsk," Jeff clicked his tongue when he realized the Harbinger managed to defend itself barely in time against his strike. Nevertheless, the Harbinger would be dreaming if that was all he could do.
Gripping the battle axe tightly, Jeff flared up as he roared thunderously. "Take this, Dominion Rend!"
Startled, the Harbinger quickly realized the immediate danger that strike had on its life.
In response to the Dominion Rend, it countered with a flurry of talon strikes, each one faster and more precise than the last.
Both sides caused an unimaginable number of injuries to each other, but Jeff was forced into a defensive stance in the end, having fallen from the sky due to his inability to remain afloat in the air.
As Jeff fell to the ground, he coughed up a mouthful of blood, clearly injured from the exchange of strikes.
Meanwhile, the Harbinger flapped its wings, remaining in the sky, its eyes glaring menacingly at Jeff, seemingly wanting to launch another offensive strike.
Just at this moment, Xu Feng activated Heaven's Grace, instantly healing Jeff and increasing the latter's defense.
At the same time, he turned to the Harbinger with a sneer on his face.
He extended his hand, curling it backward a few times as a provocation to dare it to continue forward.
Infuriated, the Harbinger stretched its talon, ready to exterminate Xu Feng.
However, it halted its actions once it noticed the shadow creature that had pestered it tremendously returned to Xu Feng's side. With more scrutiny of the situation, it also noticed Jeff seemed to have recovered, proving that continuing the fight would be disadvantageous.
"Are you scared now, little eagle?" Xu Feng questioned and proceeded to cast his regular healing spell on Jeff.
Jeff's pale complexion quickly turned for the better and he was once again revitalized.
A stalemate was shortly in commencement with both sides locking eyes at each other, clearly waiting for the opposing to make a move first.
"Will it retreat now?" Carmen asked from the backline.
"Originally I planned on letting it retreat, but that was before." Xu Feng suddenly responded, astonishing Carmen and Jeff.
"Eh?" Surprised, Carmen quickly asked, "Are we going to kill it now?"
Nodding, Xu Feng pointed at Jeff and said, "You surprised me, Jeff. It appears that you have hidden your ability."
Initially startled, Jeff subsequently understood his meaning.
"Sigh, I shouldn't have used Dominion Rend." He shook his head and smiled bitterly.
