Reicarnated as a Hyuga in the Warring States Period

One day Hijiri gathered all the Hyuga clansmen for a meeting. He didn't say what he was going to discuss and even the patriarch was in the dark.

He began speaking: "Clansmen, I gathered all of you here today to solve a problem that has been plaguing our clan: the Caged Bird Cursed Seal."

A murmur started rising among the clansmen. The Elders and the Patriarch started to worry and wanted to intervene.

Hijiri continued: "During the Warring States Period the seal, though faulty, was a necessity to ensure that our clan wouldn't be targeted for our eyes. But now we live in a village with many other clans supporting us. The ear has changed and so should we. 

Don't worry I won't abolish the seal mindlessly, I have a solution."

Solving the problem of the Caged Bird Cursed Seal was something that Hijiri had been trying to do since he completed his studies with the Uzumaki.

While the cursed seal was a necessity during the Warring States Period, now it would only be a hindrance, causing a split within the clan and oppressing emerging geniuses from the branch house.

Not only that but the seal was poorly made, it inhibited the byakugan's growth and rendered it less pure.

The fact that it was poorly made didn't mean it was easy to remove. The opposite. It was like a big tangle and it rendered working with it a lot more difficult. Not only that, but it was still a bonafide cursed seal, which meant that it was created with the intent of taking root in the host. 

Hijiri spent a lot of time on the seal and ultimately concluded that it was better to eliminate it, instead of changing it, and then apply a whole new improved cursed seal on all the clansmen.

Even with the blueprint of the Caaged Bird Cursed Seal, it took Hijiri years to find a way to dismantle it safely and other years to devise a new cursed seal that satisfied him.

He called it the Ascension Cursed Seal.

It worked similarly to Orochimaru's cursed seal in the way it absorbed the surrounding natural energy. The difference was that this seal fed the absorbed natural energy to the byakugan rendering it increasingly pure over time.

The seal had a limiter that only allowed it to absorb enough natural energy as the consumption needs of the eyes. If the user died the limit would cease to function, destroying the eyes and the seal itself.

The seal's appearance was that of the Hyuga symbol with a circle of little kanjis around it.

After explaining the seal function to the clan members, Hijiri dismantled everyone's cursed seal and applied a new one on everyone's nape, even the Elders and the Patriarch.

When the new seal was applied, everyone felt a refreshing sensation in their eyes.

Hijiri finished the meeting saying: "This is now your chance to prove yourself. This is not the time for internal conflicts but to contribute to the rise of the Hyuga as the greatest clan of Konoha."
