Chapter 33: Chapter 33: Healing
After that, Hijiri didn't let all his units stay and help the Uchiha and Senju clans. Instead, he gave each of them three members of his team.
He brought his men to battlefields to rescue fellow ninjas from various clans.
For the next half year, Hijiri and his unit became famous for saving many lives and for their prowess in the healing field. Once that happened, Hijiri had the Elders send messages to the clans of the Land of Fire stating that the healing unit had to withdraw due to a lack of funds. Instead, two-man cell units would be available for hire at a reasonable price to the ninja clans.
Many clans found out that while the strength of these people was quite average, their healing abilities were quite strong. So, to preserve their strength, it quickly became a custom for every clan to hire one or two units before every major battle.
Soon, the demands exceeded the capabilities of the ten members of the squad (nine Chunins +Hijiri). So, Hijiri proposed another thing to the clans: for a higher price, they were allowed to send their ninjas over to be trained as medical ninjas. The ninjas had to have good chakra control, with a chakra capacity of at least a chunin.
Since the demand was reasonable, several clans sent a couple of their Chunins to be trained.
The coffers of the Hyugas had never been so full. The people of the clan who still weren't convinced of their General's abilities were quickly won over by the effectiveness of his methods.

Another year passed. The chefs of the restaurants in the City of Fire (Where the Daimyo resides) had been promoted to managers in various restaurants spread all over the Land of Fire.
There had also been a natality boom inside the clan, given its recent prosperity.
For Hijiri, this was enough for now. He only had to wait for the final confrontation between Uchiha and Senju, intervene at the right time, and help create the Hidden Village of the Leaf.

A few months later, the time arrived.
Tobirama gravely wounded Izuna in battle. Hashirama had proposed for yet another time to Madara to create a village together, but Izuna convinced him otherwise.
Soon Hijiri reached the Uchiha camp and saw his men taking Izuna to a tent for medication.
(Hijiri): "How's the situation?"
(Chunin healer): "General Hijiri! The patient has lost a lot of blood, the outcome is uncertain."
(Madara): "Hijiri, you're here! Can you save Izuna?"
Hijiri unlocked the byakugan to see the Izuna's internal situation better. Soon he closed his eyes and threw a sigh of relief.
(Hijiri): "Yes, but I have a condition. You have to accept Hashirama's proposal of a village."
(Madara): "What? But…"
(Hijiri): "No buts. Your clansmen and the Senju are both tired of war. I do what I do for peace. If you continue to betray your clan's will and to walk the path of war, I and my forces will retreat."
(Madara): "Argh. Fine. Whatever for Izuna's life."
Having made the decision a big burden seemed to have been lifted from Madara's shoulders. Hijiri nodded at him and entered the tent with his men.
Half an hour later he announced that Izuna's life had been saved.
It is an understatement to say that Izuna was less than pleased by Madara's choice. He would have preferred to die than to ally with the Senju. Unfortunately, the decision had been made. As a leader, Madara couldn't break his word.
And while Izuna brooded, everyone else was in a great mood.
