Chapter 69: The Devil Feng Weiwei
Su Ling glanced at the door and immediately saw a woman in a black suit.
The woman looked young, around twenty-two or twenty-three years old, with delicate features and fair skin, but her attire seemed a bit disheveled, with one pocket of her suit torn open, and the collar of her white shirt was stained.
She stood at the doorway, nervously twisting her clothes, her voice trembling and sounding fearful.
"What do you want to talk about?" Sheng Hongye's voice was cold, and he had already recognized her as one of Wang Yuanhang's people.
Wang Pian bit her lip, bravely spoke up, "We want to cooperate with you. We hope you'll agree. If you're willing to give us food, I... I can offer myself."
Su Ling was astonished by her directness.
Well, that's quite straightforward.
"Go back and tell Wang Yuanhang that I will make him pay for what happened today. Also, our team has never lacked women."
Sheng Hongye's voice was icy as he finished speaking and went into the storage warehouse.
Wang Pian didn't leave. With determination, she continued, "Even if you don't lack women, it's not necessarily... better... We're not bad, we have plenty of experience..."
Hearing these words, Su Ling was thoroughly shocked.
She couldn't imagine what kind of team Wang Yuanhang led that made a young woman say such shameless things.
Beside her, Li Cuiping discreetly pulled Su Ling and whispered, "Their role is to serve men. If they refuse, they will be beaten, and Feng Weiwei will treat their injuries."
Su Ling couldn't help but curse silently; Feng Weiwei was truly a demon.
Seeing Wang Pian still standing at the door, her face flushed, Su Ling couldn't help feeling sympathetic.
After hesitating for a moment, she approached the door.
In a calm voice, Su Ling said, "Miss, we don't want to make things difficult for you. You should know what happened, and we no longer have any room for cooperation."
Wang Pian looked up, sizing up Su Ling.
Su Ling, standing at 1.75 meters tall, had the figure of a model.
With a well-proportioned body, slender legs, and a face untouched by makeup, she still stood out with her refined beauty. Her fine eyelashes traced a black line on her upper eyelids, and her eyes appeared clear and bright.
As a surgeon accustomed to wielding a scalpel, she exuded a cold and indifferent aura that most ordinary women didn't possess, giving off a sense of icy detachment.
Wang Pian speculated in her heart about Su Ling's identity, suspecting she might be the man's woman.
After a moment of hesitation, she lowered her voice.
"Miss, I think we are in the same situation. Considering we are both women, I hope you can understand my predicament. Please tell your captain that if you are willing to share the food, we... can provide a woman."
Su Ling rolled her eyes helplessly.
She had a fair number of men in her team, but none were beasts. If there came a day when that changed, she would rather die than become a plaything for these men.
"We don't need women here. The captain has made that very clear. Go back and tell Wang Yuanhang exactly what was said," Su Ling said, wasting no more words, and retreated to the storage warehouse.
Seeing her enter, Sheng Hongye immediately ordered Er Lei.
"Close the door."
Er Lei walked to the doorway, not looking sideways, and closed the door with a bang.
The power system in the storage warehouse was still intact, and Sheng Hongye turned on the lights.
Guan Yuxin took out an electric rice cooker she had collected from the supermarket and made a canned stewed meal with the rice.
Li Cuiping hurried over to help. Having worked at a restaurant before, she was skilled at cooking, making it easier for Guan Yuxin, who kept signaling Su Ling and Sheng Hongye to keep Li Cuiping.
Su Ling also felt sorry for Li Cuiping. She had heard that Li Cuiping had endured beatings in Wang Yuanhang's group and had been healed by Feng Weiwei. This time, she knew she was being sent to her death, yet she didn't dare to protest.
In order to stay, Li Cuiping made continuous efforts. After finishing the meal, she quickly helped clean up the dishes.
Watching her busy figure, Su Ling couldn't help but think of her own mother.
If her mother were still alive, she wouldn't be much older than Li Cuiping. Thinking of how her mother had been tormented by illness, Su Ling couldn't help but sigh.
If it weren't for her mother's poor health, Su Ling wouldn't have chosen the path of medicine.
Reflecting on the memories of her time with her mother, Su Ling was momentarily lost in thought.
"What are you thinking?" At some point, Sheng Hongye had walked over, his tall figure casting a shadow over her.
Su Ling instantly snapped back to reality, giving a forced smile.
"Nothing."
Then, she looked at Li Cuiping, who was still busy, and lowered her voice to ask, "What do you think about Aunt Li?"
Sheng Hongye immediately grasped Su Ling's thoughts.
"You want to keep her?"
Su Ling nodded. "It's hard for a woman to survive out there. If you don't object, I'd like to let her stay."
"And what about you? Can you survive without a team?" Sheng Hongye asked.
As she looked at his lips moving continuously, Su Ling couldn't help but be reminded of Sheng Hongye forcefully kissing her, and quickly turned her face away.
Though she knew it wasn't Sheng Hongye's intention, she still felt awkward whenever they were alone together.
She pretended to exhale in exasperation, hugging her shoulders as she approached the door.
Then, with certainty, she said, "I should be fine."
Sheng Hongye's eyes narrowed slightly as he looked at Su Ling's back.
He always felt that within this slender body, there seemed to be an endless reservoir of strength.
Surprisingly, he had no doubt about what Su Ling said. He even had a feeling that even if Su Ling were alone, she would still live very well.
With her personality, she would never become an accessory to other man.
This was one of the qualities he admired most about her.
He hooked his lips and said in the direction of the door, "Rest assured, as long as I'm here, that kind of situation will never happen."
Su Ling turned her head back, her eyes showing some surprise.
Sheng Hongye cleared his throat and said, "After all, a team is more likely to survive."
Su Ling nodded in agreement and asked again, "Do we really not need any women in our group? Shouldn't you... consult others' opinions?"
Sheng Hongye put his hands in his pockets and said in a deep voice, "If it's a romantic partner, I naturally wholeheartedly agree. But if it's just driven by desire, then they don't deserve to be in this team. If a person can't even control their most basic desires, it goes without saying that loyalty to the team is out of the question."
Sheng Hongye's words made Su Ling feel relieved, and she was glad she had chosen the right person.
Then, she thought of her benefactor from her previous life.
She didn't know if he was still alive in this world, and if he was, where would he be?
Her gaze unintentionally fell on Sheng Hongye's wrist, and she vaguely caught a glimpse of the tattoo, and couldn't help asking, "Mr. Sheng, what's the tattoo on your wrist? Can I see it?"
