Chapter 4: The Decision to Escape
After the bloody battle he fought, Leon stood on the edge of despair. His heart raced with every passing moment, fully aware that if he delayed any longer, his fate would be sealed. The storm raging within him was no less fierce than the one he was now facing. He knew that staying in this place any longer meant the end. Their hands were reaching for him from every corner, and his eyes scanned the sea anxiously. He was ready to risk everything.
Escaping into the Unknown
Leon ran toward the shore, where the small emergency boats lay scattered on the sand. Carefully, he selected one of the older lifeboats nearby, thinking that if he could reach the nearest island, he might find a chance to slip away unnoticed. In an endless sea of the unknown, he set sail away from the lands he had known, the cold winds whipping against him as he stared into the horizon, where everything now seemed open before him.
He reached a remote island, far from the gaze of his enemies, a place bustling with strangers. The only sound he could hear was the crashing waves against the nearby rocks. There, Leon took a deep breath for the first time in days, knowing this was the beginning of a new life. But he barely allowed himself to relax before quickly moving, ready for the next step.
Shopping and Disguising
In the local market, people were busy with their daily affairs, most assuming Leon was just a stranger from afar. He had no time to linger on details; he needed to move quickly. He visited a small shop, purchasing the essential supplies for his journey, speaking to the vendor in as few words as possible to avoid drawing attention. When he entered the weapons shop, a sense of reassurance washed over him as he bought a sharp sword that might aid him in any unexpected confrontations. He didn't want to reveal his powers yet; he was searching for a cover that would make it easier to travel unnoticed. So, he bought a black cloak, which was enough to completely conceal him and hide his identity.
Sneaking Onto a Trade Ship
As night fell over the island, Leon noticed a trade ship docked at the port, carrying goods from all over the world. The ship appeared unassuming, yet it represented his only chance to escape to a distant place. Moving through the crowd unnoticed, he slipped aboard and hid among the containers filled with various cargo. In that moment, he felt an odd sense of liberation, as if he was finally escaping a past tragedy that had trapped him.
Mysterious Freedom
Aboard the ship, Leon felt a freedom he had never known before. Even though his escape plan was fraught with danger, he knew this was his only chance to survive. He understood that the unknown ahead could hold obstacles and threats harsher than anything he had faced before, but he was ready to confront them. In that moment, he realized he was no longer a pawn under the control of his family or the World Government. He had become a rebel without a homeland, riding the wave of freedom to its very end.
As the ship sailed farther from the island, Leon contemplated what lay ahead. His new world was full of enemies who might hunt him, but most importantly, there was a new hope beating in his heart. He had left everything behind, and now all he had was the sword he had purchased, the black cloak he wore, and an unbreakable resolve.
