Rebirth: The Villainous Young Master Doesn't Want to Follow the Script

Chapter 138: Return to its Rightful Owner

***********

Arico couldn't understand Eclipse right now and as much as he wanted to call out for him, from his instincts and experience alone, it would be for the best not to call him out for now and wait for his mood to calm down.

'Just what could be the reason why this brat had a change of mood all of the sudden?'

The Slayer Agent tried to calm himself when the pressure coming from Eclipse became a little unbearable for him to contain that he almost gasped under the pressure and would likely stumble on the ground if he didn't hold himself up.

Eclipse, on one hand, noticed Arico's paled complexion that could rival those plain white sheets of paper, immediately snapped from the sudden pressure that he released, and he internally cursed himself for losing control over his emotions.

He sighed as he calmed himself first and looked away from the front center stage as he tried his best not to get riled up because of the familiar item that's being auctioned right now.

The world-hopper chuckled bitterly as he shook off his head and sighed once again and then looked at his companion who got his complexion back and not on the verge of dying for the lack of air.

After that, Arico grasped heavily as the pressure disappeared and then clutches to his chest to ease the pain of suffocation and he almost glared at Eclipse because of this but tried to restrain himself for not doing it.

"You, okay?"

Eclipse asked his companion in an awkward moment because he felt guilty when his emotions got haywire at the moment, but he didn't mean to hurt Arico or anyone else.

'Thank goodness that the barrier that I activated prevented the sudden burst of pressure from coming out in this room because if it wasn't, I could be in trouble then.'

For as long as he could remember, when he joined as the new member and became a novice world-hopper at the Main House System, at that time, his emotions were still in turmoil because of the events that transpired within his life as Ezekiel Zephyr Chevalier and it became quite troublesome for his part.

The world-hopper shook off his head and tried to calm himself down as he spoke; "I'm alright. Nothing to worry about. Sorry for what happened right now."

After he apologized, Arico just waved his hand and just shrugged off his shoulders as he said; "Don't worry. It's nothing new though."

Unbeknownst to the Slayer Agent, who believe that Eclipse didn't know about his dormant ability hidden beneath his consciousness, the world-hopper is quite aware of this unsuspecting ability that he had gain the moment he became one of the residences within the Main House System.

No, scratch that, he had known about this ability of his in his first life as Ezekiel.

'I always thought that because I'm unable to manifest the Chevalier's proud bloodline, I deemed myself as nothing but a useless and a disgraceful noble child of that household but from what I remember, that wasn't the case then.'

For some unknown reason, he had this unusual ability of his that whenever his emotions are unstable or whenever he feels unpleasant, it causes a great disturbance to the people around him because of the sudden pressure that he released but from time to time, no one had suspected him for the one who cause this mess.

Now, that he thought about it…. There is something that the world-hopper bugs him the most during his first life as Ezekiel Zephyr Chevalier.

'How did I die back then? I only had a vague memory of being in the trial back then but other than that…. All of my memories seems to be vague or more precisely, was blank at that time…'

There are some events that Eclipse wouldn't be able to recall at all and he only knew that he was betrayed and framed from the crimes that he never committed, the only crime he had known is that… his assassination order for the Marchioness but other than that… nothing else follows.

He could tell that he had been executed after the trial but for the other events before that time comes, the world-hopper was vague about that and he only remembered that at the moment of his vague death, the system prompted and make a deal with him from that time.

"Are you sure? It seems to me that you have some thoughts about the auctioned item here. Did you perhaps recognize it?"

Now that snapped him back to reality as they were still inside this establishment where the auction event takes place and remembered their purpose for joining this event.

However, Eclipse needs to secure that weapon first before it gets into the wrong hands.

'This shouldn't concern to me since it's no longer my business, but I couldn't let others to take this sword, no matter what happens!'

And besides, there is an owner of this sword, and the right action is to return to its rightful owner.

'For at least, no matter how I told myself that this no longer concerns me, but I am not that heartless not to repay at least of amount of gratitude that they had for me.'

"ARE YOU GUYS READY?! AS FOR THE STARTING BID FOR THIS ITEM…. THE BID STARTS AT 200 COSMOS!"

When the starting price for the bid stated by the MC, the audience could only gawk at the price for this item and although some of them could only just stared at the MC like he had two heads for stating that kind of starting bid, but they couldn't help but wanted to bid for this mysterious item and most of them are curious about its feature, aside from having an imbued Ice Element.

"220!"

"250!"

"290!"

"320!"

"360!"

"420!"

Arico shook off his head once more when he watched the familiar scene from earlier; "Seriously? They are at it again. These aristocrats are truly fascinating to the point that it makes me wanted to mess up with them but I'm not in the mood right now."

The Slayer Agent said while watching those bids that went higher and higher that it almost made him choked on his saliva because of the amount of Cosmos that's pouring in this auction.

"Geez! Did they sell one of their properties so that they could afford to bid in this auction event?"

Arico said as he shudders while looking at these people who would waste their money for such absurd item just because it has some properties that could benefit them or just a display of their wealth, as per Eclipse stated.

"500!"

"530!"

"570!"

Arico snickered as the bids comes higher and higher; "The owner of this establishment seems to be happy because of the amount of money that keeps on pouring in this auction event."

Eclipse nodded and then looked at his companion and said straightforwardly; "Bid for it."

The Slayer Agent choked on his drink when Eclipse suddenly said those words; "W-what?"

He coughed to ease the pain he felt as he choked on his drinks when he heard what the world-hopper just said.

Eclipse, on the other hand, ignore Arico's confusion as he continued; "Just bid for the highest amount and don't worry, I'll be the one who would cover up for the expenses."

Arico managed to calm himself down and looked back at him and said; "Are you sure?"

Eclipse; "Hmmm."

The Slayer Agent sighed and just complied; "If you say so then."

Arico wasn't interested into this kind of event since it wasn't on his job description as a Slayer Agent but right now, he would only do as what Eclipse said since it seems to the Slayer Agent that the second item of this auction event had some connections to the world-hopper, based on how he reacted by the mere sight of it.

Although the Slayer Agent wasn't bright enough to uncover the reason for all of this matter, Arico wasn't stupid and could only conclude that Eclipse recognized that item and the world-hopper needed it for himself.

'For how much should I bid for? Hmmm….'

"700!"

"750!"

"790—"

Arico didn't hesitate any longer as he placed his bid as he shouted; "1500!"

The Slayer Agent cut off those bidders when he shouted the amount he bid on as per how he observed the others on how to bid and after he shouted, the hall once again reigned silence, just like what happened earlier when Eclipse bid for the first time.

After that, whispers once again reigned within these people as most of them looked at the direction where Eclipse and Arico situated.

"That balcony again?"

"Yeah, from the first item who bid 900 Cosmos!"

"However, it's a different voice compared to the one who bid for the first item earlier."

"Then, it means that there are two people in that room!"

"Who are they really? And from whose household they were for them to bid that much money?"

More and more whispers from these aristocrats can be heard and both Arico and Eclipse didn't bother their gossips and now that Arico bid a highest amount, it seems like there would be no one who would dare to bid more.

Unless there is someone who were brave enough to cross the line with them or provoked them in that manner.
