Reawakening of the Nameless Dragon

Chapter 03:The Unexpected me

The nameless man stepped through the portal and emerged on the other side of the door. Fortunately, he made it just in time, as the cave collapsed right after he crossed.

"I must have been an evil man for them to go through the trouble of collapsing the cave on my head," the man muttered as he lay on the ground, breathing heavily. He closed his eyes and reflected on the events that had transpired since he woke up. It had only been a few hours, yet he had come close to death.

The man sighed, stretched his shoulders, and examined the scrapes and bruises left behind by the fallen boulder. To his surprise, the pain had vanished.

"Not a bad outcome…Now where am I?" The man surveyed his surroundings and realized he was in an unusual area.

It resembled a never-ending corridor; the walls were tall and composed of the same dark stone. Clearly, the corridor wasn't natural; it was man-made, which puzzled the nameless man.

'Strange! This place gives me an odd feeling, and what's with this dark stone?' he wondered 'I hope this place won't fall on my head too'

The entire place appeared untouched by time and the elements. There was no source of light. The nameless man stood there in the darkness; he could see to some extent. without further delay, he began to explore the area, determined to reach the end of the corridor, so he walked, and walked more

'How large is this damn place? Can't reach it's ending'

After some time and a lot of walking, the man spotted a distant light. This faint glow filled him with hope, and with no more thought, the man rushed toward this light. As he drew nearer, the light grew brighter, revealing itself to be a torch held by a human figure.

"Hey! Over here!" the nameless man shouted.

The figure instantly rushed toward him at an accelerated pace. The nameless man immediately halted, narrowing his vision to get a better look at this figure. It wasn't until the figure was a few meters away that he could see it clearly. Resembled a short monster, almost childlike in size, with no hair, yellow eyes, and green skin. A torch in its left hand. and a wooden club with spikes in his right.

"What the hell is that!?"

Before the nameless man could react, the green monster leaped into the air, aiming his club at the man's head with full force. The man raised his arms to protect himself, and the strike landed on his forearm. Though not as powerful as the man had anticipated, the blow still caused damage as one of the spikes pierced his forearm.

[-10 HP]

"Ughhh! Get away from me!"

In response, the man swiftly delivered a powerful kick to the monster's chin, forcing him to fall to the ground, giving the man some breather. However, the monster quickly regained its footing and charged for another attack. This time, the strike landed on the man's leg, leaving a deep cut and blood streaming down. The man prioritized protecting his head because this green creature went for another strike.

[-10 HP]

As the barrage of hits kept going and each hit found its mark on the nameless man's body, the man felt no fear. In fact, with each blow, he felt anger building inside his chest.

Suddenly an image came to his mind—In the image, he saw himself in a field surrounded by corpses. These corpses were in terrible condition, some missing heads, limbs, or pierced through their chests. The nameless man stood covered in blood from head to toe, shouting at the sky.

[System detected a memory]

[Unique skill discovered]

[Skill: Wrath]

Multiple messages appeared in quick succession, interrupting the man's image. However, the last message caused something to snap in his mind, as if a barrier had broken.

When the green monster swung his club, aiming for the man's arm again, the man used his palm to effortlessly stop the club mid-air. The green monster appeared confused by its failed attack. However, when he gazed into the man's eyes,a cold chill ran down its spine.

He saw a pair of flaming crimson eyes filled with rage. In the next moment, the man delivered a powerful kick to the monster's stomach, sending it flying and crashing to the ground. The green monster grinds his teeth as blood comes from his mouth. He desperately desires to kill the man now more than ever.

Yet as he raised his eyes, he was shocked when he saw the man standing above him, holding his spiked club high in the air. The last thing the monster saw was the wooden club hurtling toward its face.

The nameless man struck the green monster's face, injuring it but not killing it. From sheer rage, the man continued to land blow after blow, creating a bloody scene with each strike. Yet he was not done.

"Mooore! Blood!"

He positioned his right foot over the monster's head, crushing it beneath his foot. Then

ROOAAAR!.

Letting his rage consume him. The man unleashed a mighty roar that shook the entire area.

[You have killed Unknown Monster]

[+20 XP]

Moments later, the nameless man began to regain his composure. He was stunned by what just happened. A familiar feeling within him, granting him strength.

Standing amidst the aftermath, looking at the mess he made, he gazed upon the distorted head of the monster, a wicked smile creeping onto his lips. He felt a sense of satisfaction. Immediately after that, he remembered seeing system messages that appeared during the fight. One message, in particular, excited him.

"A skill!" he murmured, opening the message.

[Unique skill: Wrath: "Your answer to everything is Wrath"

-Passive: The more damage you take to more stronger you get caps at 25% of your HP

-Active: When your HP is less than 25% you can active the skill to enter a state of Wrath, all your status will double for a duration

-Caution: Wrath will try to consume you. After the duration is expired you will suffer a drawback all your status will be halved for 12 hours]

"So, that's why I lost control for a second," the man said. "Hmm?...It seems I fare better in prolonged fights. Not bad at all."

The skill would prove advantageous for the nameless man; getting stronger the more damage he takes will give him an edge in many battles. Unlike most, who grow weaker when injured, he would grow stronger. However, as he read the last part of the skill, a frown appeared on his face.

"Losing myself to anger is no joke…I need to learn how to control it, or it may cost me my life."

[Master, I have something important to report, I discover your Race] The system interrupted, causing the man's heart to skip a beat.

"My Race? What do you mean by that?" the man asked, confusion etched on his face. Given his appearance, he assumed he was human.

[Yes Master]

A message appeared in front of the man's eyes, leaving him shocked.

[Your race have be detected]

[Race: Dragon]

"W-What!" the man shouted out loud. "A dragon! Am I a dragon? ... wait a second, what is a dragon anyway?"

[...]

[...*Are you kidding me? If you don't even know what a dragon is, why did you shout like an idiot*...] the other voice snapped at the man

"And do you know what a dragon is?" the man snapped back.

[...*Ah, no I don't*...]

"See! You're just as broken and useless as I am"

[....]

[...*You little shii-*.. SLAP!]

[Sorry, Master]

Sigh.

"Anyway, how did you find out my race and skill?" The man asked,

[When you recovered a fragment of your memory, the system was able to restore and repair some corrupted data. That's when I discovered information about you,] the system explained.

The nameless man recalled glimpsing a flash of an image during the fight. If what the system says is true, then there is hope. A hope that his memories are not lost but somehow sealed deep within his mind. At least that is what the man hoped for. First, though, he needed to find a way out of this place.

Picking up the torch from the ground and clutching the spiked club, the man mustered a little confidence. He believed he could take down one or two of these monsters. However, he needed to assess his condition, as he had sustained several hits from the club.

The nameless man opened his status.

The first thing he noticed was a new bar labeled "Experience" Curious, he asked the system about it.

"System, what's this experience bar? Is it beneficial for me?"

[Master. To put it simply, the more monsters you kill, the stronger you get] the system replied.

A wicked grin stretched across the nameless man's face as he hoisted the spiked club onto his shoulder.
