Chapter 17: Synthetikinesis, New Skills, Apparition!



I closed my bedroom door behind me as I simultaneously exhaled in frustration. Dumbledore was way too suspicious of me, luckily I knocked him off kilter with the way I acted and dropping Kamar-Taj didn't hurt either.

I stepped towards the bed and started to pour through my Status sheet which had become way too chaotic with all of the spells, skills and other things dotted along with that.

[Sure, Synthetikinesis requires the targets of the merge to be on the Status sheet, it also requires 100 MP Per usage. The merged outcome may become completely different or have both of the original properties of the things that came before it.]

'So in other words I can get stronger abilities and also completely new ones dependent on the types of 'things' I try to merge.'

[Yes, that is an apt description.]

'Kay, well let's start off then...'

'I want to merge Wardbane Hex and Alohomora.'

[Yes you can, but depending on the title the MP cost may increase due to the modifiers involved and the fundamental changes needing to occur to those Titles that are already bound to your soul.]

'How much MP would it cost to merge the Sorceress title with the Forbidden Magic title?'

'Okay, I'll wait till another day... I still have to learn from that Apparition book.'

'Luminous Veil'

I spoke aloud into my mind my body going completely invisible as 100 MP was used instantly. Using that I quickly took out the apparition book and looked at the chains that still wrapped around it, binding it.

{Aperire Obsidium}

I hummed out in a musical tone as the chains all at once went taut, the lock clicking and clacking as the small sound of metal bending emerged from the veil I had placed. The lock clanked open as I instantly stored it in my ring so it didn't fall to the floor. My fingers glided across the leather bound book until they reached the precipice of the first page and a flicked it open.

Just like that I started reading, the pages flying past extremely quickly as my Speed Reading skill activated, allowing me to accomplish in ten minutes what a trained wizard couldn't in two days. Apparition is somewhat dangerous... Allows the user to teleport anywhere as long as they have a strong mental image and focus on that location.

'Sis, I want to create a magic spell that allows me to see a place with my mind's eye so long as I know its name, add a chanted word for the spell and make it have a one minute casting time.'

[MP Cost of the spell in question is 1200 MP, do you wish to proceed?]

'Yes.'

[Chanted Word: {Clarispectra} Has to be repeated for the whole minute casting time.]

[ {Visum Memoriam} is a mystical incantation that grants the caster the ability to see a distant place in their mind's eye, as long as they know its name. The caster utters the chanted word, Clarispectra, with focused intent, invoking the magical energies required for this visual connection. Creates an exact image of named place in the users mind.]
