Chapter 620: Wolverine in Underground Fight Club

Peter was utterly perplexed upon hearing this. "Huh? Miss Wanda, that can't be right. Magneto's constant terrorist attacks only add to Professor's burdens. How could that possibly help him?"

Wanda shot him a meaningful glance. "Good question, Peter. Think it over carefully. Once you figure it out, you'll start to understand this complicated world a bit better."

Wanda, despite her age, had developed a mature outlook. Her pretty face showed a hint of pride and satisfaction as she spoke with surprising depth.

Having been influenced by the future videos and her time around people like Batman and Nick Fury, Wanda had grown significantly. She now had a more adult, broader perspective on things.

Take the example of Magneto and Professor X, the two leaders of mutantkind. One was a radical, the other a pacifist; their ideals and actions seemed completely at odds, like night and day.

But both shared a common goal: securing a place in the world and a future for mutants as a whole.

So, while they opposed each other, there were times they would still offer each other indirect support. After all, without Magneto's extreme actions, how else would humanity's leaders take mutants seriously?

On the other hand, Professor X's peaceful approach allowed Magneto to act more freely, giving mutants a safety net. If Magneto's plans ever failed, at least Professor X would be there to pick up the pieces.

In the past, Wanda wouldn't have noticed these nuances, but she was more mature now and could see things from a broader perspective, much more so than young Peter.

Of course, Peter was no fool. After a moment of frowning and deep thought, he began to understand the implication behind Wanda's words.

Just then, in the video, the negotiation between Professor X and Magneto broke down.

With a mocking tone, Magneto lightly tapped his temple and asked, "You used telepathy to break in here—what are you trying to find?"

It was only now that the viewers noticed that Magneto in the video wasn't wearing his usual helmet that blocks telepathic powers.

Judging by the timeline, he had acquired the helmet a long time ago. But now, facing Charles without it, was he confident because he found a new way to resist telepathy, or did he simply lose the helmet?

"I'm searching for hope," Charles replied, his gaze gentle, still trying to reach out to Magneto.

Magneto's voice was calm as he replied, "I'll give you hope, my old friend. I only have one request—don't stand in my way!" With that, he adjusted his hat, turned around, and left with a confident and commanding air, exuding an undeniable charisma.

Watching this, Logan couldn't resist teasing, "Haha, I gotta admit, you're even more charming in your old age."

Erik raised an eyebrow, amused but not entirely disagreeing. He, too, felt that his future self in the video carried an undeniable appeal and aura. Compared to Sebastian Shaw, he certainly looked more like a visionary leader, while Shaw seemed more like a mere ambitious schemer.

The video then shifted to a freezing snowy landscape, where a large truck had stopped by the roadside. The driver stepped out and opened the passenger door, calling to the sleeping girl inside, "We're here."

The young girl in the truck was bundled up in a cloak with a hood, dressed like a medieval witch. She indeed possessed powers akin to a witch, a mutant girl named Anna Marie who had unintentionally hurt her boyfriend with her strange abilities.

After causing that accident, she decided to leave home and ended up wandering in Canada, a place she and her boyfriend had once planned to explore together over the holidays.

Despite her youth, she was bold enough to travel alone, unafraid of running into trouble. And with her mysterious powers, any potential attacker would likely regret crossing paths with her.

The driver who gave her a lift had stopped outside a bar, a common rest spot for passing truckers.

Not knowing where else to go, Anna wandered into the bar, only to find herself in the middle of a lively crowd. Beneath the bar was an underground fight ring, packed with people shouting and betting on the brutal matches.

Inside the iron cage, burly men were fighting, while spectators placed bets, their cheers filling the air with a violent energy that made Anna uncomfortable.

Especially when a bearded, muscular man entered the ring and easily knocked down his opponent with a few punches. His brutal aura left a lasting impression on the young girl.

Outside the video, Erik found another chance to tease. "Tsk, Logan, I have to say, it's pretty shameless of you to fight regular folks in an underground ring with a body covered in indestructible adamantium. Isn't that a bit of an overkill?"

Logan scratched his messy hair and frowned. "The guy in the video has amnesia... But even so, it's not worth discussing, Erik. Compared to the crazy stuff you pull, I'm practically normal."

Erik gave him a cool look and said, "I'm just pointing out that you have the power to pursue a good life, yet you end up like this. Remember, Logan, mutants aren't cursed outcasts. You should see it as an honor. Your abilities are a gift from nature."

In Erik's view, while Logan appeared tough on the outside, his inner turmoil was clear as day.

Though Logan didn't struggle with feelings of inferiority over his mutant identity like Mystique or Hank, he still viewed his powers as a burden, or even a curse.

What Logan truly wanted was a simple, normal life—not this strange existence where he couldn't even die when he wanted to, drifting aimlessly like a lost soul.

In the video, Logan predictably won his prize money from the underground fight.

With cash in hand, he naturally headed to the bar for a few drinks, a cigar clenched in his teeth as always. Meanwhile, Anna Marie was also there, looking around nervously, her eyes wide with the curiosity of a small animal as she took in the unfamiliar scene and the intimidating presence of Wolverine.

At this point, the bar's TV was broadcasting news about mutants. It was clear that mutants were gradually entering the public eye and having a significant impact on human society, leading to suspicion around Wolverine.

The massive fighter he had just beaten approached him, clearly unsatisfied. He felt something was off about the fight; even though he landed a few punches, Logan's body showed no signs of damage. Suspicious, he began questioning Logan's true identity.
