Translator: Guy Gone Bad
Ji Yue turned around and smiled at the woman in front. His smile was not warm this time but polite and distant. He said,
“Mrs. Nangong, I need to talk to Nangong Ze right now. I am afraid I am not available right now. What about some other time?”
“Detective Ji, as I said before, I am not Mrs. Nangong. I am just a maid in Nangong family. You can call my name.” Wang Yao gave him a gentle and pleasant smile.
She was wearing a bright yellow skirt, with porcelain skin, dark long hair, and good-looking face. She was like a typical lady, easygoing and gentle, innocent and not aggressive at all. People would lower the guard in front of her.
Ji Yue smiled and nodded, and said politely, “Miss Wang, if you’ll excuse me.”
Wang Yao was a bit disappointed when he called her Miss Wang. She looked at the kitten in his arms, and smiled, “Oh right, Detective Ji, where did you find Liang? I was worried about her when she went missing today. You can give her to me. It’s not appropriate to take her to the study. She may cause trouble.”
As she spoke, she waved at Xia Liang, smiling gently, “Liang, come here. Let’s go play woolen balls. You can have your favorite shrimp cookie.”
Xia Liang felt uncomfortable hearing her name, wagging her tail. So the cat’s name was Liang!
What a coincidence!
Xia Liang wore that sullen cat face and totally ignored her. No one could stop her from getting in that study.
“Liang?” Ji Yue smiled and leaned away from Wang Yao’s arms and sight. He pinched Xia Liang’s ear, “Your name is Liang. A good name!”
“Liang, do you want to come with me?” Ji Yue asked smilingly.
“Meow!” Of course!
Xia Liang wagged her tail. Maybe she was so desperate, she wagged very hard.
Anyone could tell what her intention was now.
Wang Yao was surprised but on the outside she was still as gentle as she usually was. As she was about to say something, the butler showed up.
“The master just woke up. He wants to see you.”
Xia Liang turned her head at the butler. He was a middle-age man with well-combed hair and well-dressed clothes without a slice of wrinkle. He was a serious and old-fashioned man.
Wang Yao stopped focusing on Xia Liang and left after she nodded goodbye to Ji Yue. She was a bit hasty like Master Nangong had a very important position in her heart.
After greeting to the butler, Ji Yue rushed to the study.
When he was about to knock on the door, the door was opened from inside. Nangong Ze looked a bit anxious and complained, “Detective Ji, what takes you so long? I have something important to talk to you!”
“You can’t blame me. Your house is too big.” Ji Yue joked.
Nangong Ze looked at him seriously, apparently not joking, “I spent a whole day doing exactly as what you said but I still couldn’t find anything about my big brother. But I did find something that is really strange.”
