Pewter City
As soon as Samurai went back to his home Ash and Yellow started walking north. At this point, Pikachu has gotten out of the bag and Yellow started petting him. Ash was worried that she would be shocked, but Pikachu let himself be pat.
'Curse the stupid, plot armor, Psychic-aura, natural affinity, BS that Yellow has to befriend Pokemon naturally, even now after I used Aura to bond with Pikachu it seems like he is friendlier with Yellow.' Ash thought as he held back the urge to scream.
Ash shook his head as they continued walking until eventually, they came across a group of 5 Scyther. He motioned to Yellow and Pikachu to be quiet as he started thinking.
'Well I certainly can't fight them all at once, Sythers have base stats that make them comparable to fully evolved starters, my best bet would be to either put them all to sleep or to separate the weakest of the group and capture it then make a break for it. There is also the choice to try and convince one of them to come with me but Scyther is naturally aggressive and I don't feel like both figuratively and literally putting my neck out there
Ash then had an idea inspired by a move he saw as a kid, he moved back into the safer part of the trees and sent out Spearow, Pidgey, Bellsprout, and Oddish. Pidgey was still tired so Ash came over and used his Aura to heal the bird, he made sure Yellow could see him doing this. After Pidgey was better he told his Pokemon his plan.
"Spearow and Pidgey you two will grab Bellsprout and Oddish, then when you 4 are in the sky both Bellsprout and Oddish will use sleep powder and if you can stun Spore as well, but focus on sleep powder more than anything," Ash explained and everyone listened attentively.
Ash continued, "Although Scythers can fly you two are faster flyers, so just in case they see you fly fast get away from them. Understand." Receiving a nod from the 4. "Alright wait for my signal."
Spearow took Bellsprout and Pidgey grabbed Oddish and they flew up near the trees above the group. Before Ash gave the signal, he turned off the volume on his Pokedex first, then scanned the Pokemon to look for the one he should catch and avoid. He found one in particular.

He saw this and then looked at Yellow, "If this goes wrong you need to jump on Dody and move fast." received a nod from Yellow and Dody. Then taking a deep breath he gives the signal to his Pokemon.
As soon as they saw this the birds flew over the group of Scyther and Bellsprout and Oddish started releasing as many spores as they could. The Scyther was more confused than concerned until the oldest Scyther fell asleep closely followed by the others. Leaving the one Ash was going to catch drowsy but still standing.
'Welp this is the kind of plot BS that the anime would show.' He then turned to Pikachu and said, "C'mon let's take him down the old fashion way." Perceiving a nod from the electric rat.
As the Scyther started looking into the sky to see what happened he only heard, "Pikachu Thundershock." before he received an electric shock.
Meanwhile, the squad in the air started releasing stun spore because status moves do stack, though the more one has the more a Pokemon can resist it, but they are sleeping and can't resist if you aren't conscious.
"They won't be asleep for long, Pikachu one more thundershock" Ash commanded as he pulled out a Pokeball and signaled to the sky team to come back.
Pikachu quickly used another shock of yellow electricity, the Scyther tried to move but it wasn't fast enough and receive another shock, then Ash threw the Pokeball and returned his 4 Pokemon that were in the sky. At this point, the effects of the spore started getting to Scyrher leaving it too tired to escape, followed by a 'ding'.
At this point some of the Scyther started turning so Ash grabbed the Pokeball and started running. "They are paralyzed thankfully, there is no way we can outrun an angry Scyther normally," Ash said to Yellow as they kept running.
"But where are we going now?" Yellow said, clearly getting tired.
Ash started to slow down and said, "Well we are going to Pewter City to rest and train for the first Gym."
'I wonder what's happening to Team Rocket, I haven't bumped into them, probably creating a convoluted trap for me.'
(Meanwhile)
Team Rocket was sitting in paper cocoons while waiting by the road.
"Here is the plan as soon as the twerp walks past he will trip the tripwire, which will make him drop the cocoons where we will show up, we will use the metal cage in the hole and the giant magnet on our balloon to pull him out, then we will force him to give up the Pikachu or we will cause noise attracting the Beedrill," Jessie explained her long plan.
"We know, we helped you set it all up, this is the 27th time you said this I don't think he going to show up," James said
"Of course, he has to go through this path unless he went off the trail but why would he do that?" Jessie said, scolding James.
"Um guys I don't mean to butt in but we have a problem," Meowth said as they saw an Oddish run through their trap causing them to fall out of their cocoons and fall into the hole they made.
As soon as they fell in they got raised by their balloon and started floating away.
"Any other brilliant Idea Jessie," James said, receiving a hit to the head.
(A few hours later)
Ash and Yellow were exiting Viridian Forest, at this point it was starting to turn to dusk. Ash then turned back to Pikachu and finally addressed their deal.
"Well Pikachu, a deal is a deal, do you want to continue going with me or do you want to go your own way?" Ash said, making Yellow confused.
"Pika Pi?" Pikachu said, after all the time they spent together he had genuinely forgotten about the deal they made back in Pallet.
"Well, I said after Viridian Forest, and here we are, I won't force you to stay if you still want to leave," Ash said as he was secretly hoping everything he did was enough.
"Pikachu," Pikachu said as he climbed back on Ash's shoulder.
"So you're staying, that's great. Let's get moving before it gets dark then." Ash said as Yellow wanted to ask what they were talking about.
Before she could ask a voice appeared, "Pewter City is Grey, the color of stone" It was Flint
"Uh, Who are you?" Yellow asked, looking at the rocks with price tags next to her.
"The names Flint and you two are standing on some of my merchandise," He said, fully serious about the rocks. "What are you people doing, coming out of the forest at this hour."
"Well I wanted to challenge the Gym but we ended up leaving pretty late so we were going to go to the Pokemon center to rest," Ash answered back. As Yellow held up her tired Rattata like a baby.
"Well your Pokemon seems to be tired, I will lead you to the Pokemon center," Flint said as he started walking
"He seems nice. '' Yellow said as she hopped off one of the larger rocks.
And as she said that, Flint turned, "By the way, that will be 2 poke dollars for standing on my rocks."

At the Pokemon center, Ash came up and gave his injured to the nurse Joy of Pewter City. Yellow already went to her room, so Ash went to the computer to call Oak.
"Hello my boy, what do you need?" Oak asked as it seemed like he was eating some noodles.
"Hello Professor Oak, I wanted to ask if you have received the Pokemon I have been sending over," Ash responded.
"Oh Yes, I must say you have caught an impressive amount of Pokemon, and even finding two shinies is also impressive in itself," Oak responded
"Well, there are two things I would like to ask about," Ash answered back
"Oh, and what would that be?" Oak questioned.
"Well firstly can you call over the Oddish I sent over, her friends want to talk to her," Ash said as he released Bellsprout and Oddish and put them on his lap.
"Of course, I must say she has been helping me calm down some rowdy Pokemon. She is right here with me." Oak said as he picked up an Oddish and as soon as the group of grass pokemon saw each other they started talking like they hadn't seen each other in years.
"Well while they are talking the second question is if you could give me permission to carry more than 6 Pokemon?" Ash asked as he put his Pokemon to one side.
"Well I can, there is no set amount of Pokemon a trainer can hold, I just set the automatic teleportation feature at 6 because that is recommended." Oak said before thinking to himself, "Well how about this if you can beat the first Gym I will allow you 8 Pokemon at a time and we can talk about more then."
"Yes that is fine I will be in town for a few days before I challenge the first gym, so until then let's give these Pokemon some room to talk," Ash said gesturing at the Grass Pokemon as he got a nod from Oak.
"Just hang up after they are done," he said as he walked off-screen and continued eating his noodles.
Ash moved over and wanted for his Pokemon, after way too long the grass Pokemon said their goodbyes and left, Ash returned them and hung up the call before moving to his room.
After Ash got ready for bed and laid down he thought to himself, 'Well thankfully with Oak I only need him to permit me to have more than 6 Pokemon then I can manually turn off the automatic teleporter. And for Brock, my Pokemon have enough moves to win. I just need to get them to train.
He pulled out his Pokedex and looked at the videos of past battles that Brock had, 'He uses 4 Pokemon this time, so I will need to bring in Oddish, Bellsprout, Poliwag, and Pikachu as a last resort. It depends on how much plot armor BS I can get away with
As he put the Pokedex away the thought to himself, 'Welp that's for tomorrow for now I guess I'll just sleep.' and passed out.
