Pokemon: Radical Redux

Scizor kept moving through the forest taking down Scyther with 1 hit each, it just goes to show the difference in his strength. Back when he was still a Scyther he was considered relatively weak but then again he was also the youngest at the time.

When he moved deeper he saw a group of Scyther walk forward with one he recognized as his own grandfather along with the members that were in his original group before he got caught.

Grandfather Scyther walked up, "[You there, why have you entered our forest, are you here as a rival attempting to take over?]"

Scizor could see everyone prepared to attack just in case, and he could even see there where Scyther hidden in the trees ready to ambush him, he sighed, "[What's the big idea, Gramps! I leave and suddenly you all try to kill me!]"

All Scyther: "[Eh…]"

Grandfather Scyther got closer much to the displeasure of the others Scyther, and started looking at Scizor checking him, "[It can't be, it really is you!]"

Again all the Scyther looked confused as Grandfather Scyther grabbed Scizor by the claw and started leading him deeper into the forest.

A few minutes later Scizor was sitting in front of all the elders which his grandfather was also a part of, he explained what happened and how he was captured and became stronger even evolving.

The oldest Scyther was the first to speak, "[So a human captured you, and then you were beaten in a fair battle after you were taken away.]"

"[Yeah, which makes sense, I doubt that if he had challenged me alone the other Scyther in my squad would have allowed it to happen,]" Scizor said.

"[Well from reports we have gotten, you are much stronger, you can beat each of our scouts in one punch, but to think you went into that form,]" another Scyther elder said

"[Yeah, he asked me if I wanted to evolve, and I thought why not since I barely use my wings anyway might as well have a hard body.]" Scizor knocked on his chest.

"[I see, very well, then we have no complaints as long as you were able to become strong,]" grandfather Scyther said, "[But if I may ask, why did you return, did you run away from your trainer?]"

"[Err, well no he let me come back because I wanted to,]" Scizor said scratching the back of his head

"[So he just let you, his strongest companion, leave with the hope you will come back?]" the elder Scyther said incorrectly assuming Scizor was the strongest.

"[Well yes, but also I'm not his strongest, I don't even think I'm top 5]" Scizor said making them all nearly fall over in surprise, "[And also that's not the only reason why I'm here]"

The grandfather Scyther shook his head, "[This is, surprising, to think you're this strong and you aren't his strongest,]"

"[But in that case what is the other thing you have come for?]" the oldest Scyther said.

Scizor dug his claw into the dirt and his red face turned redder, "[Well, I don't know how to say this… um, let's say I was tasked with finding another Scyther for my trainer… but that it also has to be a girl….]"

The Scyther stayed quiet for a moment before the grandfather Scyther started laughing, "[Hahahha, oh you really are my grandson aren't you, hahaha!]"

As he was laughing the oldest Scyther spoke up, "[Well, if you come for a mate then that isn't a problem you were born here but you do remember our ritual, you are more than strong enough but it is still tradition.]"

"[Yes I understand]" Scizor said, the ritual was kinda like a combat trial since Scyther were attracted to strength the stronger the Pokemon the more options they had, and usually depending on the winner's preference and the amount of Pokemon they can have 1 or more.

Grandfather Scyther stopped laughing for a moment wiping a tear from his eye, "[Yeah, hey why don't you just let him take your granddaughter like we talked about before, he might have been too weak then but he's certainly strong enough now,]"

The Scyther elder looked back at him, "[You expect me to allow my granddaughter to be taken away as well like your grandson!]"

Grandfather Scyther smiled and pointed at the door, "[Seems to me like she wouldn't hate it]"

From the 'door', a female Scyther was peeking through and when she noticed she was found out she ran away quickly.

Elder Scyther grit his teeth but then smiled, "[Well it doesn't matter first he needs to complete the challenge, and after he chooses who his mate will be he must face her caretaker, which means,]" he says as he stood up and brandished his blades, "[He'll face me if he wants my granddaughter!]"

Everyone collectively looked at him and said, "[Granddaughter-con]"

Giovanni sighed into his hands, over the past few months he had been trying to find a trace of Mewtwo even ignoring most operations. But after 3 months of searching, he realized it was unlikely Mewtwo was still in Kanto.

So with a heavy sigh, he chose to drop it for now, but he would be sending an expedition party around the world searching, but he wouldn't tell Ghetsis even if he figured out where Mewtwo would be, Ghetsis was a liability, a card that he can't play, a book he can't read.

So he chose to go back and work on his other projects for now, starting with the USB drive he had on his desk, Admin Sayoko gave it to him explaining how all the information was collected by the 3 new Spies, but also due to the failure of Enid in the report of both D. and Jay they were found.

Giovanni set this off since if they were caught it likely meant they would relocate before he could decide what to do.

But now he sighed and connected it to his computer, in a moment all the information was downloaded into it, but there was also a fragment of something else that was inside the drive that now had access to Giovanni's computer.

Giovanni started reading through the information, it was clear when they got caught since the beginning had its information all organized neatly, and then near the bottom there were things rushed inside, but he could still read it.

He didn't even need to finish it to make his choice, after reading the first few lines he frowned and sent a message to the Admins and his Executives to stay on alert for any sightings of these 'raiders'

After he did that he chose to start setting up a team to prepare to go and immediately attack their new base wherever it may be, and on that team, Ashtwo/D. was put on the list first.

Ash was sitting at dinner with A.J., Samurai, and Jeanette. He brought them here for a very specific reason: the 2 rivaling 'Gyms' that were fighting the Yas Gym and the Kaz Gym.

He filled them in and told them to not act like trainers or show Pokemon, most People in this town hated Pokemon trainers, and it wasn't likely that anyone watched the League so they didn't need to hide their appearance.

As soon as they came in they noticed that the town looked almost abandoned, there were the remains of buildings on the street and it all looked like a ghost town.

When they walked in they were immediately invited by a nice middle-aged man with a diner to hurry inside her shop because 'it' was about to start.

Ash didn't refuse his kindness and dragged the other 3 inside with him, when they were inside Ash noticed 1 woman sitting in the corner waiting, with a cup of coffee silently just observing and waiting.

He served them all the special Omurice, Ash started eating but the other 3 wanted to ask more questions.

"Hey, so can you tell us any more about why the 'Gyms' in this town are fighting?" A.J. asked.

"Well in truth they fight every day at the same time, they don't care about us citizens at all their fights usually do hurt us since no one in this town has any Pokemon, they just want to see who becomes the Gym leader to see who gets the funding from the Pokemon League."

"That's awful," Jeanette said, "They're doing this all for money, fame, and power, it doesn't even sound like actual battling more like a street fight."

"Indeed, if I could do it my way I would reenact the great samurai Yojimbo's feat," Samurai said putting his hand on the sheath of his fake sword,

The old man shook his head, "I wouldn't recommend you get involved with that, those guys don't care they'll send their Pokemon at you, and what's worse they hire trainers to join them, thankful no truly strong trainers have decided to participate but even still we don't know how much longer we can go on."

"How long has this been happening?"

"About 2 years now, neither side ever comes out on top so they just keep coming back, and when they come to get food we have to give it to them and they say that they'll pay us when they become the Gym,"

Then he looked down, "And what's worse is that our city is one of the oldest in Kanto and had a rich history and landmarks to tell the story, but after they came it was almost all destroyed."

They were about to comfort the man when suddenly they heard rumbling and the sound of glass breaking.

"It's time again, I suggest you stay in here to hide then as soon as you can run away from this town for your own safety," he said as they could hear yelling outside.

"Come on Boys! Today we crush those Yas Gym losers!"

"Guys! We won't stop until we drive those Kaz Gym guys out of Dark City!"

"Yeah!!!"

"Yeah!!!"

They could hear the destruction and fighting, one guy was even shot through the window of the dinner and ran back out, Jeanette lowered her head, "So that's what these guys are all about, they truly don't care…."

As she said that they could hear screaming from innocent people outside running away from them, the 3 of them clenched their hands hearing this, "How can this go on, this isn't right…" A.J. said 1 step away from going out there and punching these guys himself.

"Unfortunately we can't do anything, those guys have Pokemon and we are just regular people, we tried contacting the League but they haven't done anything yet, they have only said that due to their actions, they will never gain the title of a Gym. But they don't believe it."

Just as he said that Ash put down the fork after finishing the Omurice and chuged the water before giving a satisfied breath, "Man that hit the spot!"

Ash got up and stretched his back before walking to the door with his hand in his pocket, "You know I'm a bit short on money for the food, so in exchange, I'll deal with this for you,"

"W-wait what are you planning on doing!" the old man said but Ash already kicked down the door and had a shrunken Pokeball in his hands.

Outside there were tons of trainers and Pokemon both fighting like animals, Ash didn't waste any time and threw out Gyarados, as soon as he came out everyone stopped seeing a giant red monster.

When Gyarados saw the sea of people and Pokemon he realized how weak they were, so with only a glare Pokemon started falling over, then People, then the Scyther and Electabuzz until everyone fighting was laid out unconscious on the ground.

People watching were shocked to see everyone taken down so easily and after Ash looked inside and gave a thumbs up people started cheering that finally the Yas and Kaz Gym were taken down.

After a few minutes, People started taking the trainers and tying them up, after they woke up the mystery person revealed herself to be a Nurse Joy from the Pokémon Inspection Agency. She immediately told them they would never get the qualification for a Gym, and for the damage they would all have their trainer license suspended.

After that, she called in some people and had them taken away to be given a proper punishment.

Then she went over to Ash, A.J., Samurai, and Jeanette and thanked Ash specifically since he was the one who stopped them. Everyone in the town was also cheering and around giving their thanks.

Joy bowed, "I didn't expect the champion of the Indigo League to step in himself,"

And that immediately got People surprised to hear he was the champion, Ash waved it off, "It's nothing really, I just did what I thought was right."

"Yes, but still this city is one of the oldest and most valuable in Kanto for its history. I'm afraid that if there is no Gym leader then more people will come to try," Joy said, closing her eyes dramatically, but slightly peeking to see Ash's reaction.

"I know what you're thinking, no I don't want to become the Gym leader, but I know 3 People who would do just as good," Ash said, gesturing to the 3 behind him.

Joy felt a little sad, but upon seeing 3 trainers who all made it to at least the top 16 her mood improved, "Ok, then I'll submit the information and send back a form to see what your Gym will specialize in after that you can design your badge and we'll start sending the funding for renovations!"

A.J. tensed up, realizing his dream that seemed impossible was now happening, "O-ok! I'll do my best to protect and improve Dark City!"

"As will I, my blade will only be to protect the city and her People," Samurai said.

Jeanette just sighed helplessly and smiled, "Well, why not, sure beats my life before, and at least I can have fun, so let's do it!"

Joy smiled happily and the citizens were nervous but they felt good, they didn't think they were bad people but they weren't ready to just welcome them in like nothing happened.

So after that Ash helped them pike out a building and choose their specialty, instead of a type they chose to specialize in speed and fast Pokemon.

After that Ash bid them goodbye and left with Abra, not long after that when they were preparing everything a girl with a Yas uniform and a red scarf stumbled out of the tree after spying on them for a while.

Samurai was the first to greet her…with his sword pointed at her, "You there who bears the mark of Yas, state your business!"

She flinched and then got up and bowed in respect, "Please, can I join your gym?"
