Pokémon: Global Invasion

Chapter 2: The Hinterlands of Pokémon Civilization

Not long after, the staff members from the Alliance arrived on a bus. After some cordial greetings, they finally discussed the relocation options that the villagers were most interested in.

The Alliance provided two options for relocation:

One option was to leave Yukimura Village and move to a relocation house near Aloha City. After all, the appearance of a Spatial Rift above Yukimura Village indicated that this area had begun to overlap with another world, and more similar incidents might occur in the future.

The other option was surprisingly to choose a Sandshrew as compensation. This was naturally to give the villagers a means of self-defense, allowing them to organize a self-defense force in case of similar incidents!

It could be said that the Alliance was very sincere; whether it was relocating or receiving a Small Pokémon, both were very tempting conditions.

It is important to know that housing prices near Aloha City are not cheap. Even a suburban relocation house costs over 500,000 yen. In comparison, the price for a typical Small Pokémon generally hovers around 100,000 yen. However, these Small Pokémon are quite common; if they were rare Small Pokémon, the price would undoubtedly skyrocket!

"Both options are pretty good! How do you all want to choose? Let’s discuss!"

"What choosing? My house has been flattened by those damn mice! I can only go for the relocation house—those damn mice!"

"That's a bit of a shame. This is a great opportunity to become a Trainer. If you follow the formal route, it would be quite troublesome. Plus, the Small Pokémon we get will be farm-bred, while wild ones are definitely better!"

"Yeah, yeah! I'm planning to get my son a wild Sandshrew this time. Look at this Sandshrew; it will surely be a great help on construction sites!"

After receiving the relocation options, the villagers immediately began discussing animatedly.

Ryoma quietly observed from the side, feeling somewhat speechless at the villager who planned to take the Sandshrew to work on construction sites. But seriously, the various abilities that Pokémon possess could definitely handle many tasks that humans cannot complete.

Just like Sandshrew, its name suggests it’s perfect for tunneling and similar tasks. If you had a Sandshrew, construction sites would surely be fighting to have it!

“Little Ryoma, do you like this kind of Sandshrew? Why don’t we choose this Small Pokémon too? I just went home and checked; our house only has some wall cracks. Everything else is fine, and we can still live here!” Ryoma's father walked over and said.

Choosing Sandshrew as the starting Small Pokémon?

His father's words immediately plunged Ryoma into thought. To be honest, Sandshrew and its evolved form, Sandslash, are not particularly powerful Small Pokémon. But so what? This is not a game. Theoretically, every Small Pokémon has the potential to become a powerful one.

In this regard, Giovanni's Beedrill is definitely a prime example. His Beedrill is not an ordinary one, and this indirectly confirms that every Small Pokémon has the potential to reach its peak!

“Don’t worry, Dad. I’ll definitely become a powerful Trainer!” With that thought in mind, Ryoma felt he should give it a try.

Seeing this, Ryoma's father smiled with satisfaction and said, “Good boy, you have ambition!”

After discussing, they went to register with the Alliance staff. Once all the villagers made their decisions, they would be able to choose their preferred Sandshrew.

The waiting was always the hardest part. To pass the time and prepare for his future as a Trainer, Ryoma planned to combine his understanding of Sandshrew and try to create a specialized training plan.

This way, when he got his Sandshrew, he could immediately start the special training because success favors the prepared!
