He know something was not right, he wanted to let others know, but no one took it seriously. First no one though Chen Qi was important, even though he is young master, his status is lowest. He is not a cultivator, nor he has a background. He was considered trash by everyone. Even the twins born after him get more attention than him. They are already at first Qi gathering stage. No one knows about Chen Qi.

Soon another week passed and the City Lord mansion was in celebratory mood. There was a congratulatory Banquet for Chen Mo for reaching the 6th Qi Gathering stage.

Whole City Lord mansion was filled with lights and there were many guests coming from Chen City four big families and there are few guests from the surrounding cities too.

“City Lord is truly blessed by heavens, his eldest son is already at the 6th Qi Gathering Stage and eldest daughter is peak of 5th stage, she will soon break through to 6th stage.”

“True. Reaching 6th stage before 14, how many geniuses can do that in Qi province. They can be counted in two hands .”

Chen Yang was very happy hearing the praises on his kids.

Chen Yang “Brother Zhou, you must be joking. Your girl Fen is no less than Yan’er , she is also a step away.”

Patriarch Zhou “True . But that step is key. How many can achieve that one step.”

Patriarch Ling “But she is capable girl. I heard she has a good affinity with fire attribute.”

Patriarch Zhou “True that Lass has good affinity with fire.” said with pride.

As all of them were involved in celebrations.

Patriarch Fen was looking at all the kids gathered around.

Chen Mo was at the center of the hall meeting all the guests and chatting with his peers. Chen Yue was following his brother meeting few new friends.

Chen Ming, eldest daughter of City lord was sitting in the corner seeing the attention her brother is getting. She is neither happy nor sad, she is hiding her emotions clearly. She is three months younger than Chen Mo, her talent is no lesser than Chen Mo but she can’t much change the time she cultivated. Also, being in the male dominated society , her resources and attention are always lesser than Chen Mo. She was not bothered by this. She was looking at Lady Xia who was greeting everyone happily. Why will she not be happy her son is star of tonight.

Chen Ming “Mother, what are you planning to do?”

Ling Min “What can we do? They have gained a significant advantage in this. I can try to not make much damage for us and wait for time.”

Chen Ming “Tian’er and twins are also good we have numbers.”

Ling Min is second wife of Chen Yang and she is mother of four of City Lord’s kids.

Chen Ming, Chen Tian (4th), Chen Lin and Chen Lan twins (8th and 9th.)

Shen Xue “Both Chen Mo and Chen Yue have great talents, only Ming’er and Tan’er are capable of rivalling them.” even though we have numbers but , we don’t have edge.

Chen Mo, Chen Ming, Chen Tan, Chen Tian, Chen Yue, Chen Po, Chen Qi, Chen Lin and Chen Lan.

They are divided to two factions one by Zhou families support and other by Ling and Shen family support.

As the banquet was about to finish.

City Lord “Patriarch Fen you seem bit distracted . Is there anything bothering you?”

Patriarch Fen “It is nothing. It looked like something was missing. It must be affect of wine.”

City Lord was confused hearing this “Missing?”

Patriarch “It is just my imagination.” he responded politely.

Patriarch Fen “City lord you have 6 sons right?” he suddenly asked looking confused.

City Lord understood what is missing now. He looked around the hall but he didn’t find the thing he was looking for.

Every previous banquet some where in the some corner there would be an incident or two of bullying and some issue. But, it is not there today. Fen family hated Chen Qi the most, Patriarch Fen wanted to marry his sister to Chen Yang . but City Lord married a commoner and that crisis, caused Fen family plans to evaporate. They hated the woman Nin Ning for this. When she died their hatred shifted to her son. So, fen family children actively participated in bullying Chen Qi. Everyone knew about it except well City Lord. That news was suppressed mostly. But in banquet.

City lord ignored this as it was matter between kids.

Chen Yang was surprised not seeing Chen Qi today. All the times he saw Chen Qi after death of his mother was only in banquets, Where Chen Qi is forced to attend as the young master giving others a chance to mock him.

Chen Yang ‘ That kid probably hid himself in the courtyard fearing bullying.’

Chen Yang found Chen Tan nearby and asked him about Chen Qi.

Chen Tan “Father, seventh brother didn’t attend the banquet. ” He responded politely.

Chen Po “Father, I guess he didn’t come to save his face. He didn’t make any progrss in cultivation. He must have been scared to face others.” said jovially.

Steward Wu “Check on that brat. ” He said to Steward.

Chen Yang also ignored it after that.

Almost t the time of midnight everyone started dispersing and there were very few guests in the hall.

Steward Wu slowly walked to the City Lord.

Chen Yang could sense sweat in Steward Wu’s forehead and understood something is wrong. He also understood the severity as Steward Wu is coming directly to him in middle of banquet.

Chen Yang “What happened ? You seem nervous?”

Steward Wu didn’t know how to respond but slowly said “City Lord, Young Master Qi has not been home for over three weeks.” he said , there was fear in his eyes. He didn’t dare say a word more or word less.

Chen Yang’s brows twitched hearing this.
