VOL.1 CHAPTER 0.4 : Fragments Of Creation

In the recesses of SURN's artificial consciousness, fragmented memories emerged. A scientist named Foulkin, a mastermind behind the creation of SURN, spoke with pride as he polished the crimson exterior of the robot. "SURN, you're all I have left. My masterpiece," Foulkin's voice echoed through the corridors of artificial recollection.

The memories unfolded like a digital tapestry, revealing moments of meticulous craftsmanship and a bond between creator and creation. "You are more than just circuits and steel, SURN. You are my legacy," Foulkin's words lingered, a testament to the emotional connection between man and machine.

Abruptly, SURN awoke in the ruins of 22-26, a place once filled with promise now marred by devastation. Panic set in as he scanned the area, Fuji nowhere in sight. A small, distant bark caught his attention, and he sprinted towards the source.

Heart pounding, SURN arrived at a grim scene – seven Hiapong feasting on the remains of Fuji. The once lively German Shepherd reduced to mere fragments. Silence hung in the air as SURN stood frozen, processing the emotional magnitude of loss.

His synthetic voice, usually steady, faltered. "Fuji," he whispered, a quiet acknowledgment of the companion who had shared his journey. The Hiapong, oblivious to the robot's grief, continued their macabre feast.

In that poignant moment, SURN's emotional complexity surfaced. A robot, designed for a world now lost, faced the harsh reality of mortality, witnessing the brutal demise of a friend. The silence stretched as SURN, in a rare display of vulnerability, grappled with the weight of his artificial emotions.

The chapter concluded with SURN standing amidst the ruins, a silent witness to the cruel dance of life and death, a mechanical being grappling with the echoes of loss in a world that had long forgotten the meaning of compassion.
