VOL 2. CHAPTER 0.11 : Pumpkin Girl {Faith}
Pumpkin Girl sat on the worn sofa of the abandoned house, her feet dangling above the dusty floor. With a sigh, she glanced out the window at the darkening sky, her thoughts swirling with uncertainty.
"I couldn't do it," she admitted to herself, breaking the fourth wall with a rueful grin. "The forest is a scary place."
But even as she spoke, a spark of determination flickered in her eyes. With a determined nod, she rose from the sofa and made her way back to the side of the road leading to the forest.
As she hesitated at the edge, contemplating her next move, the ground beneath her suddenly trembled. An earthquake! Pumpkin Girl stumbled and fell, landing with a thud on the forest floor.
To her surprise, nothing happened. No monsters emerged from the shadows, no traps sprung beneath her feet. Tentatively, she pushed herself upright and peered into the darkness of the forest.
And then, without another moment of hesitation, she ran. She ran with wild abandon, the thrill of freedom coursing through her veins. She screamed with joy, her laughter echoing through the trees as she danced beneath the moonlight.
For the first time in her life, Pumpkin Girl felt truly alive. She climbed a tree, her heart pounding with excitement, and called out into the night.
"Mom, where are you? I miss you," she whispered into the darkness, her voice filled with longing and hope.
And as the chapter came to a close, Pumpkin Girl clung to the branches of the tree, her eyes shining with tears of joy and the promise of new beginnings.
