Online Game: Starting With SSS-Ranked Summons

Chapter 3: First Summon is a Cat

"I summoned a damn CAT!" He shouted, looking at the cute, chubby-looking white cat in front of him.

The cat was licking its paws as if it had no care in the world for Arthur's presence.

"Calm down, this cat must be special. It Must be..." He muttered, as he opened its status.

"HUH!" Arthur exclaimed as he looked at the talent's only effect.

"This game must be bugged," he said with an excited tone.

"Hey, I ain't complaining." He chuckled as he tried to catch the small cat.

"Come here, let me pet you. My lucky star," He chuckled as he tried to grab the cat.

"Eh?" He said, as the cat bounced from its spot and avoided his hug.

"We are playing a game now huh?" He said, as a grin started forming on his face.

Fifteen minutes later.

"What the hell, this cat is basically untouchable." He slowly exhaled, as his hands rested on his knees.

"Fine, you can run all you want." He glared, at the cat that was casually cleaning itself.

"Can you talk?"

..

"Okay." Arthur shrugged, not caring about it for now.

"Extract." He said, as he looked at his summon with a smile.

"Time to level up!" Arthur thought as he started heading towards one of the village's gates.

There was a gate in each direction, south, east, west and north.

Arthur picked the closest gate to him, the northern gate.

"It's the furthest away from the shop, so there should be fewer players there anyway." Arthur chose the gate with the lowest amount of players possible.

He had picked up on what the flying man said.

"You can level up by killing..."

"Killing. He didn't specify whether it was monsters or players." He thought.

"I'm sure I'm not the only one who realised this."

Arriving at the northern gate, Arthur stepped out whilst making sure his surroundings were safe.

[You have left the safe zone, you can now be attacked by monsters.]

[Players cannot attack each other yet.]

[Attacking another player will result in major penalties. Be warned!]

"Seems like I was too paranoid." Arthur thought as he read the notifications after stepping back into the village again to be on the safe side.

Leaving the village again, the same notification rang out again.

Ignoring it, Arthur headed inside the forest carefully with the wooden sword in his hand and his summon following him casually.

Glancing behind his back, he looked at the cat that was walking casually.

"This damn cat, so lazy. But I will allow it, It gave me an op talent after all."

As he looked around, he saw a group of players attacking a small pack of evolved Beatles.

"John attack from the back! Paul use your shield to take the aggression, George make sure you support John." Said George, as he attacked the Beatles.

Impressed by their coordination, Arthur remained at a distance.

After watching them for a few seconds, he left the area and decided to find another area.

Soon he spotted a little rabbit.

[Corroded Rabbit]

Level: 1

Health Points: 30

Physical Damage: 3

[Details:] A normal rabbit, that was corroded by the energy that invaded the world.

"Huh?" Arthur muttered silently, as he looked at the details of the rabbit in front of him.

It had blood-red-shot eyes, fangs that were unnaturally large and teeth that stuck out of its mouth like spikes.

"Neko.. Go attack him." He tried to reason with the cat, which was lazing around on his shoulders.

The cat looked at him dead in the eyes for a second... then went back to licking its paws.

"Damn it, you are even making fun of your summoner." He cursed silently, making sure he didn't alert the rabbit.

Glancing back at the spot the rabbit was at, he didn't find it.

"Shit! Where is it." He cursed silently, as his eyes darted around like an eagle.

Immediately turning his head to the rustling of a bush next to him, he put the wooden sword in front of him as he prepared for what was to come.

"GUR!" The rabbit growled as it bounced on him its fangs sharp.

"Damn it!"

He quickly parried the attack with the wooden sword.

-1 Hp

"What! I just parried the attack, why am I taking damage."

His hand was still shaking from the force of the attack.

I need to kill this damn rabbit!

Arthur steadied his stance, gripping the wooden sword tightly. His eyes were fixed on the corrupted rabbit, its bloodshot eyes glinting with a feral hunger.

The creature's fangs gleamed under the faint light filtering through the trees, sharp and ready for another lunge.

His heart thudded in his chest as he felt the adrenaline surge, sharpening his senses.

The rabbit growled, a guttural, unsettling sound coming from such a small creature. Without warning, it sprang forward, claws extended and teeth bared.

Arthur swung his sword to intercept it, managing a glancing blow.

-2 HP

He winced, feeling the sting radiate up his arm despite the successful parry.

"What the hell kind of rabbit is this?" he muttered, his eyes narrowed in concentration.

The rabbit didn't even flinch at the blow, bouncing back with an eerie agility, readying itself for another attack.

Meanwhile, Neko, his supposed "Primordial summoning" that was meant to carry him, sat a few feet away, comfortably licking its paws, completely disinterested in Arthur's struggle.

The cat's indifferent attitude only fueled Arthur's determination to finish the battle quickly.

"Fine, I'll do it myself," Arthur grunted, rolling his shoulders and adjusting his grip.
