After Kaiden heard what Anos said, he walked in slowly.
He didn't wear glasses or anything of the sort. Although he looked like a gentleman, deep inside, he was more of a warrior.
"Your Majesty, all the work of Minister Losta has been handed over!" Kaiden said.
"What's the current funding gap?"
Anos asked directly.
Even though Anos didn't understand all the nuances, he could still rely on Kaiden to accomplish tasks that Losta once handled.
If Kaiden lacked understanding, it wouldn't matter much Anos would put more effort into training him.
The key point was that in just three months of Losta's management, the kingdom's net profit had reached tens of billions of Beris per month. Yet, the nation still faced a large deficit.
Though Losta's greed wasn't the cause, her ambitious overreach had resulted in this financial strain.
"Your Majesty, we calculated it yesterday. Minister Losta initiated the construction of over 250 factories at the same time. This has created large-scale employment opportunities throughout the kingdom. However, the expenses involved have reached nearly 300 billion Beris, leaving a funding gap of close to 120 billion!"
Kaiden explained respectfully.
"120 billion!"
Anos laughed softly to himself.
That figure was no small matter. Currently, the kingdom's food economy relies heavily on Anos' personal resources.
Fortunately, his system provided enough to sustain the nation. Without it, Losta's methods would have been catastrophic for the entire kingdom.
"Your Majesty, do you wish to temporarily halt the factories under construction until the kingdom stabilizes?" Kaiden asked.
"No. Once we start building, there's no need to stop. Pausing now would seriously harm the kingdom's credibility, which would be an even greater loss for us!"
"Let all projects proceed as planned. Additionally, the kingdom-wide road construction must also begin immediately. From now on, as the Minister of Commerce, you are responsible for managing everyone involved."
"I don't expect rapid results or perfection, but every step must be steady. Do not rush for quick success. That is my warning to you."
"There should be sufficient funds in the palace treasury for you to utilize. Once these projects are implemented, we will evaluate the situation further."
Anos' tone was firm yet measured.
Building so many factories at once would eventually bring immense benefits to the Tru Kingdom.
However, these benefits would take at least a year to materialize. Once operational, the factories could boost the economy and potentially become a financial backbone for the kingdom.
Losta's error had been overstepping without first gauging the kingdom's economic situation. Her haste caused a break in the capital chain, which could lead to halted projects and a loss of trust among the people.
Kaiden wasn't overly pleased about the mention of available funds in the treasury. Instead, he asked, slightly troubled, "Your Majesty, there's one more matter to report. Minister Losta initiated a project in the Crimea Kingdom three months ago. Should we suspend this project now?"
"Has anything happened there?"
Anos asked.
"Not yet."
"Pause it for now. Our priority is developing the domestic economy. We can reconsider foreign engagements in a year or two based on our progress."
"Yes, Your Majesty."
