One Piece : Start As Celestial Dragon And Take Down Hancock

Chapter 22: Kizaru: No, Why Do You Want Me?

This situation has occurred many times.

There were even some Celestial Dragons who had set their sights on handsome men and women in the Marines, wanting to name them to carry out their whims.

But Sengoku always pushed back these requests. And Kizaru, with his wretched demeanor, would not be targeted by anyone, right?

A Few Days Later.

Naval Headquarters sent a document to the World Government, rejecting Kizaru's escort mission on the grounds that he had received a temporary mission and had already gone to sea on business.

"Is that so?"

When Saint Nusjuro saw the report, he didn't take it seriously and just asked someone to notify Lakeman of the replacement. In his opinion, it didn't matter if they changed the escort. It's just an ordinary escort mission—any Vice Admiral could do it. Sabaody Archipelago is near Naval Headquarters. If something really happened, an Admiral would arrive within ten minutes. But…

"No!"

Upon receiving the notice, Lakeman categorically refused to change the candidate and said forcefully, "Let Kizaru give up the mission and ask him to escort me!"

After saying these words, the butler standing beside him had an extremely strange expression. He looked Lakeman up and down, and couldn't help but wonder if his young master had some strange hobby. Why name a sleazy Marine?

"Master..."

The butler hesitated to speak and opened his mouth to persuade Lakeman.

"Needless to say," Lakeman waved his hand and said solemnly. "Give the death order to the Marines. Kizaru must come to escort me!"

"...Yes." The butler could only agree.

Thus, the butler conveyed Lakeman's demands to Saint Nusjuro. That same day, Saint Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro received the new application submitted by the steward.

After reading it, he looked strange.

"Must it be Kizaru?" Saint Ethanbaron V. Nusjuro couldn't help but touch his chin, his expression hesitant. If Lakeman chose a beautiful Vice Admiral, he wouldn't think anything of it.

At most, he'd assume his relative was just indulging in pleasures and trying to recruit Marine beauties. But Kizaru? This guy with a vulgar temperament? Do you like this?

"No, there may be other reasons..." Saint Nusjuro quickly shook his head, stopping the exaggerated thoughts in his mind. "Maybe he is curious about the Sparkling fruit?" He didn't dare to think deeply. "Since he must have Kizaru, then give him Kizaru."

Saint Nusjuro hurriedly wrote a new document and sent it to Naval Headquarters.

Naval Headquarters.

Kizaru was lying on a sun lounger, enjoying the sunbathing, looking comfortable.

"Borsalino, don't you have to go on a mission?" a passing Marine asked curiously.

Kizaru squinted and casually said, "I'm on vacation now."

"Eh? Didn't the marshal look for you a few days ago?" The Marine was even more surprised. "He didn't give you a mission?"

Hearing this, Kizaru raised the corner of his mouth, stretched out a finger, and shook it. "There was a mission, but I rejected it."

"Can you refuse a mission?"

"Of course, I just made up a reason and called back," Kizaru explained briefly. Missions from Celestial Dragons were generally resisted by Marines. They'd run away if they could. Only when it was really unavoidable would an unlucky guy be hired to do it.

The marshal knew about these thoughts. Regarding the requests from Celestial Dragons, he often turned a blind eye. So, with the help of Marshal Sengoku, Kizaru could sit back and relax. After he refused, the mission was returned. As for which unlucky guy it fell on, that wasn't Kizaru's business.

"That's great. As expected of an Admiral candidate, you have some privileges," the Marine said enviously.

"Why don't you just work hard and become a candidate?" Kizaru glanced at him and smiled. "We are both Vice Admirals; don't say you don't have ambitions."

"I'll forget it. It's too troublesome to take sides after becoming an Admiral," the Marine waved his hand and left.

Kizaru lay down again. For him, taking sides wasn't a problem. When the time came, he'd just go where it was easy and hang out. "I hope that by then, I can still have long, leisurely vacations like I do now," Kizaru said lazily.

At this time, a messenger ran over. The messenger spoke in a deep voice and delivered news that made Kizaru feel like he was struck by lightning.

"Kizaru Vice Admiral, the marshal wants you to meet in the office immediately. You have a mission!"

What the hell?

Kizaru suddenly lost his composure, took off his sunglasses, and looked at the messenger with wide eyes. He was on vacation! Why was there another mission?

"Kizaru Vice Admiral, please." The messenger was unmoved and said calmly.

"Tsk.. "

Kizaru curled his lips in displeasure, left the sun lounger, and walked towards Marshal Sengoku's office.

"Marshal, what's the matter?"

As soon as Kizaru entered the office, he sat weakly on the chair and said angrily.

"Bad news." Sengoku looked troubled and sighed. "The escort mission that I refused before was rejected by the World Government. The Celestial Dragons appointed you to escort."

"Ha?"

Kizaru was so shocked that he stood upright. "Are you kidding me, Marshal?"

"I also want to joke with you, but unfortunately not," Sengoku spread his hands helplessly. "The World Government is very adamant. They require you to put down the work at hand and escort a Celestial Dragon named 'Lakeman Saint.' The financial gods have written special notes expressing their concern. So you just have to go."

Kizaru's expression fell, as if the sky was collapsing. He had a good vacation, so why did a mission appear out of nowhere? And a Celestial Dragon's mission at that, which he really didn't want to do!

"Can I switch with someone else?" Kizaru looked at Sengoku with expectant eyes and asked tentatively. "Just say I had a sudden illness and can't move."

"I'm afraid not, Borsalino." Sengoku shook his head, sighed, and said, "This little trick can't be hidden from the World Government. You'd better go with peace of mind."

Kizaru immediately slumped in his chair, staring at the ceiling blankly. It was as if he had lost all his strength.
