Chapter 10: 10. The Inheritance Handbook Of An Ordinary Swordsman!
It never occurred to Rob that he would receive a gift.
After taking the old notebook, Rob looked at Dr. Clover suspiciously.
"What is this?"
Stroking his beard, Dr. Clover showed emotion on his face.
"When I was young, I also went to sea to explore various ancient ruins and had some adventures! This is something I got from an archaeological dig in a sunken ship. It's not a history book, just a practice handbook left by a strong man. We scholars aren't interested in these things, but since it's a handed-down handbook, we kept it."
Dr. Clover looked at Rob seriously.
"I know you've been practicing and seem to be very powerful! So, this practice handbook, which is useless to us, is given to you! Consider it the old man's way of passing it down. Boy, I won't stop you from going to sea with Robin, but you must promise me that you'll protect her!"
Looking at the practice handbook in his hand, Rob felt it was something he needed, so he accepted it directly. Then he looked at Dr. Clover seriously.
"I'll accept the gift! Thank you, doctor! But regarding the protection of Robin, it's not because you gave me this handbook that I'll protect her. I will protect her because I want to!"
Rob was clear that protecting Robin wasn't about benefits; it was because he genuinely wanted to.
After saying this, Rob took Robin, bowed to Dr. Clover, and then left.
Dr. Clover watched the two little figures leave, a bit dazed and unsure how to respond. The reason he gave Rob the practice handbook, which is precious to some, was to make Rob stronger and better able to protect Robin.
...
A small sailboat, 15 meters long and 12 meters high, equipped with a cannon, sailed forward on the calm sea of West Blue. On deck, Robin looked at the Vivre card fluttering forward in her hand, joy evident on her face.
"So there really is such a magical paper as Vivre card! With this, can we find our mother in the sea, Oni-chan?"
Hearing Robin's expectant question, Rob nodded with a smile.
"Hmm! With the guidance of the Vivre card, we will definitely find Aunt Olvia on the sea!"
After getting an affirmative answer, Robin looked at the life card with anticipation, running around the small sailboat excitedly. Rob, controlling the rudder, had a doting smile on his face.
Even his care couldn't replace Robin's longing for maternal love. As the day of meeting her mother approached, Robin's heart was naturally filled with happiness.
And having the Vivre card to meet Olvia on the sea was an inevitable event. This way, he didn't have to feel guilty about possibly missing the appointment with Robin, which was a good thing!
Speaking of which, Nico Olvia is also a mature beauty! A grown-up silver-haired Robin...
Silver hair.
At this point, it aligns with some of Rob's unique tastes. If possible, he would persuade Olvia to join his crew. It wasn't any dirty idea, but simply because of Robin. He wanted to save her mother!
The premise is that it wouldn't cause him too much trouble.
Suppressing his thoughts about Olvia, Rob looked at the endless sea ahead with anticipation. Finally, he was out to sea. While his time in Ohara was fulfilling—getting stronger, practicing, and strengthening his relationship with Robin—he couldn't deny that he often felt like a bird in a cage or a fish in a net.
"Get out of Ohara!"
Looking at the vast sea, Rob felt elated. He felt like his heart had expanded:
"I'm like a bird in the blue sky, and a fish in the sea! I'm not bound anymore! Hahaha..."
While speaking, a familiar voice echoed in Rob's mind:
[You went to sea! You have unlocked your third talent - learn and know!]
"Hm?"
Hearing the voice in his head, the smile on Rob's face grew wider:
"The system with a very weak sense of existence is finally bubbling up again! The third talent - learn and know? It should be a talent that enhances learning ability, but I wonder if it affects any learning!" (T/N: How I wish I had that talent)
After pondering the system for a moment, Rob took out the inheritance given to him by Dr. Clover from his pocket, flipped through it a few times, and, unable to understand the words, put it away again. Robin had mentioned that this inheritance handbook came from a swordsman in the Grand Line, from a small country destroyed by natural disasters. It contained some information about the Grand Line and his extinct homeland.
Half of it was a copy of the swordsman's swordsmanship inheritance. After repeated confirmation, the general swordsmanship inheritance contained information about cutting steel and flying slashes, but there was no record of the sound of all things breathing. With this, Rob could confirm that this inheritance of sword skills, left by an ordinary swordsman, wasn't exceptionally powerful.
Touching his chin, Rob murmured:
"I should learn the characters of this world with Robin. It's better to learn the knowledge of ancient characters. I'm very interested in the Poneglyphs. It won't be a problem to learn about them!"
Robin, running around the boat, came to Rob's side. After hearing his words, she looked expectant:
"Will Oni-chan study with me? I'll teach Oni-chan seriously!"
Hearing this, Rob smiled and touched Robin's little head:
"Then please."
Enjoying Rob's caress, Robin smiled and narrowed her eyes. At the same time, she secretly made up her mind that as long as Rob wanted to learn, she would teach him everything she knew, and what she didn't know, she would find out.
After all, this was the first time Oni-chan asked her for help!
