One Piece : Pirate King Sage

Chapter 2: The Kingdom of God

In the blink of an eye, spring has turned to autumn. Wang Lei has lived in Cocoa West Village for two years. Over this time, he has transformed from a frail boy into a spirited young man. His biggest achievement in these two years is mastering the use of the cross.

By Bell-mère's cottage, Wang Lei greets Bell-mère, Nami, and Nojiko.

"Aunt Mere, I'm heading to the beach to train."

"Mm, Kado, good luck! You'll definitely become a strong warrior. Remember to come back early for dinner."

"Sure, I'm off. Nami, be good and learn your letters!"

After bidding farewell to the three, Wang Lei heads to the beach.

After two years, little Nami has started to recognize characters and learn various basic knowledge, while eight-year-old Nojiko can help Aunt Mere tend to the orange fields. Every morning, Wang Lei goes to the beach to train his body and occasionally hunt for some wild game to improve their living conditions.

He jogs to the beach and sits cross-legged on a rock, facing the rising sun.

"Jiuwi, check my physical condition."

Jiuwi is the cross hanging from Wang Lei's chest, an energy detector from the ninth-dimensional space known as "God's Country."

When Wang Lei fully understood the cross, he realized what it was.

According to the information from the ninth dimension, space is divided into ten levels, ranging from the primitive space to the ninth-dimensional space. Levels 0 to 2 are considered low-level space, levels 3 to 5 are medium-level space, levels 6 to 8 are high-level space, and the ninth-dimensional space is called "God's Country," the most powerful dimension.

Ten thousand years ago, many high-level spaces, dissatisfied with the dominance of God's Country, united to challenge it. Despite God's Country having superior technology, economy, and overall strength, the sheer number of enemies overwhelmed it. Ultimately, in the space war, it was defeated. To maintain the dignity of God's Country, the deity of the ninth dimension left behind his last bloodline and activated the Universal Annihilation System, leading to the destruction of all high-level spaces.

The cross is a remnant from this war, an advanced energy detector and the last hope of God's Country.

Everything in space relies on energy, which is classified into three types:

Primitive energy: such as wood, coal, and oil.

Conventional energy: such as electricity, natural gas, and gasoline.

Special energy: a mysterious energy that can produce various miraculous effects, like influencing a region's magnetic field or altering a space's environment.

According to Wang Lei, the variable weather in the Grand Line is likely caused by special energy.

As the most advanced energy detector, the cross can absorb special energy from the air in certain regions.

The fifty-star energy previously consumed to enhance Wang Lei's physique belongs to this special energy category.

The cross records that to perform spatial travel, ample energy is required; otherwise, unexpected accidents can occur. For instance, Wang Lei intended to perform physical travel, but due to insufficient energy, he had to abandon his body and instead conduct a soul transfer, resulting in him possessing Kado's body as a ten-year-old boy.

Due to the lack of energy, the cross now only retains basic detection and absorption functions, while other advanced technologies from God's Country can no longer be utilized.

Wang Lei also learned that the cross can enhance the subject using special energy, with enhancements categorized into strength enhancement, speed enhancement, and recovery enhancement.

Initially, when Wang Lei was on the verge of collapse, he instinctively chose recovery enhancement, resulting in his remarkable recovery ability. As long as he has sufficient food, he can quickly heal from even the most severe injuries—similar to how Luffy from "One Piece" gains strength just by taking a nap and eating some meat.

Knowing that the cross had the power to enhance his body made Wang Lei so happy that he almost cried. However, the subsequent information he discovered truly brought him to tears.

The enhancement abilities of the cross are not unlimited. First, it requires enough special energy. Second, the subject must fully digest the previously absorbed special energy before the next enhancement can take place. If the subject does not digest the special energy from the last enhancement, they cannot proceed with the next one.

The island where Cocoa West Village is located has a total of five hundred eighty units of special energy. Without damaging the ecological environment, the cross can only absorb one-tenth of that, which is fifty-eight units. Each enhancement requires a minimum of fifty units of special energy, and it took Wang Lei two full years to nearly digest that amount, leaving him with just a tiny bit remaining.

It's like eating: after getting full, you must digest the energy before you can have another meal. In the beginning, Wang Lei took a month to digest one unit of energy. Originally, it would take at least four years to digest fifty units, but as his body grew stronger and he trained harder, his digestion speed increased, allowing him to consume forty-nine units in two years.

Now, with just one unit of energy left, Wang Lei can proceed with the next enhancement. He has intensified his training over the past few days, striving to digest the energy quickly.

After issuing a command to the cross, a row of red gemstones below it began to flicker in sequence, resembling a progress indicator.

"Ding ding… Body assessment complete. Physical quality: average. Dao Power: 104 points. Remaining special energy: 0. Next enhancement possible."

Hearing the voice in his mind, Wang Lei couldn't help but smile. After three days of effort, he had finally digested the last unit of energy, and his Dao Power had increased by two points.

Dao Power is a measure Wang Lei established based on the body detection system in "One Piece." A Dao Power of ten points is equivalent to that of a trained navy soldier, and with his current 104 points, it indicates that his physical quality is equivalent to that of more than ten adults.

If this were Earth, Wang Lei could definitely dominate and rule. However, in the world of "One Piece," such people are everywhere. For instance, CP9's Lucci has a Dao Power of four thousand, which is forty times Wang Lei's current level. Most of CP9's other members possess Dao Power above one thousand, far surpassing Wang Lei.

After two years of stability, Wang Lei has completely consumed the special energy within him, and his physical quality has significantly improved. It's time for him to leave Cocoa West Village and explore the world.

Wang Lei's decision to embark on this journey isn't solely driven by the need to gather special energy; he also needs more energy to ensure he can safely return to Earth. According to the information in the cross, the energy required for a single spatial transition is enormous. Unless he finds the source of special energy in this world, it would be impossible to gather enough energy.

Wang Lei has already deduced that the source of special energy in the "One Piece" world is the legendary treasure known as "One Piece" itself.

Arriving at this conclusion was fairly straightforward. Special energy can enhance physical capabilities, so those closer to One Piece tend to be more powerful. Moreover, special energy can alter environments, which explains the various climates throughout the Grand Line. Therefore, One Piece must be the source of special energy in this world.

Returning to Earth means Wang Lei must head towards One Piece to absorb enough energy, essentially aiming to become the Pirate King.

However, he isn't particularly interested in becoming the Pirate King himself; he simply hopes to catch a ride with the Straw Hat Pirates, take a tour around One Piece, and absorb the energy he needs.

Wang Lei feels a special connection to all the members of the Straw Hat crew. During his most confusing times, "One Piece" served as a guiding light, accompanying him from an eleven-year-old boy to an eighteen-year-old who can stand on his own. Over seven years, he has integrated the Straw Hat Pirates into his life, considering all of them as his comrades and his goals to protect.

That doesn't mean he must join the Straw Hat Pirates, as doing so would inevitably affect their individual experiences, a result Wang Lei would definitely regret.

Thus, Wang Lei decides that once he has refined the special energy, he will leave Cocoa West Village and little Nami behind to embark on adventures across the world, exploring every island to absorb special energy and strengthen his abilities in preparation for the future.

Of course, he won't let Bell-mère, who has cared for him for two years, die again. With five years left until Arlong arrives, Wang Lei is determined to return with his allies and relocate Bell-mère before Luffy and the others rescue Nami.

This is Wang Lei's plan, meaning he is now ready to leave Cocoa West Village.

After checking his body, Wang Lei sits up and stands on the rock, facing the crimson sunrise, and shouts:

"From this day forward, I am no longer Wang Lei! I shall venture into this world of adventure in the name of Kado, until I return to Earth, to my hometown, and reclaim my own name!"

"Ah, ah, ah…"

Kado yells out loud, venting the passion within him. The world of "One Piece," here I come!
