Gin's temples throbbed, his eyes fixed fiercely on the speaker. If it weren't for his arms being broken by Byakuya, he might have killed them himself.
Byakuya ignored their expression, "Can any of you tell me where Krieg is?"
These pirates before him were small fry; it was the entire Krieg Pirate Crew that Byakuya wanted to deal with.
This was one of the few 'big' plot points in East Blue that could be altered.
The three pirates kneeling on the ground all looked at Gin, who raised his chin defiantly, showing no intention of speaking.
Byakuya sighed, "Oh, still stubborn, why bother?"
He lightly pinched his thumb and forefinger, then suddenly released, a burst of invisible force shooting towards Gin's right knee.
Crack!
"Ah!" The sound of bones shattering at Gin's knee mixed with his cries of pain.
Two limbs now crippled, two remaining. Gin grimaced in agony, his face pale, body swaying unsteadily.
His right leg couldn't bear weight, and he barely managed to stay standing, avoiding collapsing to the ground.
The three pirates on their knees watched Gin's miserable state, their faces full of fear, sweat pouring down.
"Talk or not?" Before the pirate who had previously betrayed Gin could speak, Byakuya shot out another burst of force.
Gin screamed again as his remaining intact left leg was also disabled by Byakuya.
Gin collapsed to the ground, lifting his head to glare at Byakuya with eyes full of hatred.
If looks could kill, Byakuya would have been dead a thousand times over.
"Why are you asking them questions and hitting me? Hit them!"
But the anger of the weak was futile!
The three pirates were terrified by Byakuya's brutal methods, scrambling to divulge information about the Krieg Pirate Crew.
"Thank you for your information!"
After obtaining the desired intelligence, Byakuya smiled brightly.
The three kneeling pirates seemed to see a glimmer of hope for survival, hastily begging Byakuya to let them go.
"Don't worry, if you want to leave so badly, I'll send you off."
As Byakuya spoke, three bursts of force pierced through the heads of the three men, leaving wounds as thick as a finger, blood gushing out.
The three instantly ceased to breathe. At this point, Gin's gaze towards Byakuya had changed, fear evident in the depths of his eyes.
Gin considered himself ruthless, but after encountering Byakuya, he realized just how far he was from Byakuya's level of ruthlessness.
The excruciating pain of his limbs being broken tormented Gin constantly, and the feeling of being better off dead had made him give up hope of survival.
"Now that you know what you wanted to know, just kill me!"
Byakuya shook his head, saying, "It's better to be alive and grumble than seek death when there's a chance to live."
Gin watched in disbelief as Byakuya took out a grape-sized purple object from his pocket.
What made Gin even more fearful was that this purple 'heart,' just like a real heart, kept beating, expanding, and contracting incessantly.
Its purple veins were visible, densely entwined into a mass.
[Monster Cells: Can significantly enhance the consumer's physical qualities and transform them into the most suitable monstrous form for combat. The consumer will be completely obedient to the host, and it costs 1 point of World Power to exchange.]
This was something Byakuya had temporarily exchanged from a store upon seeing Gin.
Monster Cells like these could quickly produce a large number of formidable subordinates.
However, Byakuya was currently lacking in World Power, and he didn't need so many subordinates anyway.
The idea of giving Gin a Monster Cell only came about because of various speculations about Gin from past lives.
Some said Gin was the future Admiral Green Bull, while others claimed he was the child of Kaido and Charlotte Linlin.
(Google it 'Gin Admiral Green Bull' there was a Reddit said about it)
There were all sorts of bizarre claims, so Byakuya came up with the idea of giving Gin a Monster Cell.
Initially tough-minded, Gin's suppressed fear finally erupted when Byakuya forcibly shoved the continuously beating 'heart' into his mouth.
It was fear of the unknown and fear of Byakuya's methods.
"What did you just make me eat?" Gin exclaimed angrily.
Byakuya scrutinized Gin and calmly replied,
"Something good, something that will make you stronger and allow you to fulfill all the evil desires in your heart. So you should thank me; after all, this stuff is quite expensive."
Just as Gin was about to curse, he was suddenly overwhelmed by excruciating pain that penetrated his marrow.
His heart seemed to be seized by a giant hand, squeezed, his entire body convulsed, his blood vessels twisted, blood flowing backward, his skin turning a faint red, like boiled shrimp.
His screams were several times more miserable than before, echoing from his mouth. Byakuya digging his ear, finding the sound somewhat irritating.
Several minutes later, the heart-wrenching screams finally ceased.
Gin lay on the ground, as if lifeless, sweat soaking the surrounding area, leaving marks of his struggle on the ground.
"Is he dead?" Byakuya, who had been observing Gin, wondered. It was a possibility, after all, not everyone could withstand the intensity of Monster Cells.
"What a pity, wasting time and World Source for nothing,"
Byakuya sighed, shaking his head.
All of this could only be compensated for by the Krieg Pirate Crew.
Just as he was about to turn and leave, he heard heavy panting behind him.
Low, hoarse roars intermittently sounded, and a figure kept growling...
When Byakuya turned around, the figure had grown to over four meters tall, covered from head to toe in explosive muscles, exuding a formidable sense of strength.
What was most striking was that an extra segment of bone had grown on both of Gin's arms, with basketball-sized spherical objects formed at the ends of the bones.
"Oh... isn't this the weapon that Gin was holding earlier? So that's how it is!"
Byakuya now understood. The description of the 'Monster Cells' was indeed accurate: they could transform the consumer into the most suitable form for combat.
The realization dawned upon him. Suddenly, a menacing aura erupted from Gin, causing the air to ripple and his clothes to rustle.
The invisible shockwave completely demolished the walls of the tavern. Wooden tables, chairs, and benches turned into powder in mid-air.
A colossal shadow enveloped Byakuya, seemingly poised to attack him at any moment.
"That's enough. Return to your original form," Byakuya said calmly,
"We still have to go kill Krieg."
Gin lowered his massive head and hummed, "As you command, Master!"
In the blink of an eye, his body, towering over four meters tall, shrank to less than two meters, reverting to its original appearance.
It was as if the scene just now had been an illusion.
