One Piece: Capture the Goddess and Become Stronger [R-18]

Chapter 97: Chapter 92

"Huh? Pirate King? What does his desire to become the Pirate King have to do with me? Oh no, after I kill him, he can't become the Pirate King, so it does have something to do with me."

"You…"

Monet's chest heaved in anger at Ethan. Unconsciously, she placed her hand on her chest, only to realize her clothes had been changed! She murmured, "My clothes…"

"Don't worry; it was the angels who changed your clothes," Ethan said with a smile, attempting to comfort her. Of course, he didn't mention that he had also been present during the process to avoid agitating her further.

Monet breathed a sigh of relief, though her expression remained doubtful. She kept her skepticism to herself but continued to glance at Ethan warily.

"You're so beautiful. It's no surprise you're always on guard," Ethan remarked, his tone both teasing and admiring, attempting to provoke her unique reaction.

But this time, Monet's quirks didn't manifest. Instead, panic crept into her expression as she scanned her surroundings. Realizing that every item she had that could connect her to the outside world had been confiscated, she froze.

Her actions didn't escape Ethan's sharp eyes. With a smirk, he said, "Don't bother looking. There's no way I'd let you alert Doflamingo after being abducted."

Monet was stunned. She understood her situation now and resolved herself—if she couldn't escape, she would rather die than let him use her against Doflamingo.

"Kill me! I won't surrender to you!" she declared firmly. Her body collapsed onto the soft couch, resolute and unyielding. Her posture, defiant yet vulnerable, might have evoked twisted desires in lesser men, but Ethan only observed her with mild amusement.

He gazed at her determined eyes, acknowledging her resolve. Monet wasn't bluffing—she truly seemed ready to die for Doflamingo.

It wasn't surprising. Thirteen years ago, when Monet was only seventeen, she and her sister Sugar had faced a life-threatening disaster. They should have perished but were saved by Doflamingo.

Monet was the type to repay kindness. Her loyalty wasn't just fealty but deep gratitude. She had long prepared herself to sacrifice everything for the Donquixote Family, even her life.

From this perspective, outright killing Doflamingo might alienate both Monet and Sugar. Ethan mused that keeping him alive, albeit under strict control, might be a more strategic move.

After all, Baby-5 had been easy to win over with a few words and gestures. Violet, too, had her motivations—her loyalty to Doflamingo stemmed from her need to protect her family.

But Monet… Monet's loyalty ran deeper. She wouldn't be subdued so easily.

Ethan decided to try anyway. What did he have to lose?

"You have a sister, right? Her name is Sugar?" he asked casually.

Monet's body stiffened. Her defiance faltered momentarily before she shook her head and recomposed herself.

"Heh. Miss Monet, you wouldn't want anything to happen to your dear sister, would you?" Ethan continued, his tone light but probing.

Monet's heart skipped a beat. She tried to appear indifferent, but her trembling eyes betrayed her.

Ethan smiled knowingly. "Don't bother pretending. I see right through you."

She bit her lip, refusing to respond.

Ethan chuckled, leaning closer. "I'll give you some time to think. By tomorrow, when I return with Doflamingo's severed head, you might want to reconsider your loyalty."

Monet's defiance wavered. She bit her lip harder, drawing blood, as her mind raced. Ethan's overwhelming power had left her shaken.

Before she could muster a reply, the angels brought a tray with freshly made red date porridge, placing it on the table beside her.

"Miss Monet, if you're hungry, why not try some porridge? God Ethan himself ordered it for you," one angel said sweetly.

"God…" Monet murmured, her voice tinged with disbelief. Was that man truly their god?

Curiosity got the better of her. She turned to the angels. "Is he… really a god?"

The angels giggled, covering their mouths. "Yes! God Ethan is—"

The angels eagerly began recounting Ethan's greatness, detailing his wisdom, strength, and bravery. Their admiration for him flowed endlessly, a relentless barrage of praise aimed at Monet.

At first, Monet dismissed their words. But as they continued, she found herself begrudgingly listening. The angels' enthusiasm and conviction were infectious, though she wouldn't admit it.

"Is this how they've been brainwashed?" she thought bitterly, trying to resist the subtle influence of their words.

Over time, however, her defenses began to weaken. Ethan's presence loomed larger in her mind.

Meanwhile, Ethan returned to the shrine to recover from the lingering effects of his Blue Dragon Fruit transformation. He summoned his closest aides: Conis, Kaya, Kalifa, Moda, Jessica, Michita, and Sora.

The golden-haired goddesses, radiant as ever, assembled swiftly, eager to serve their god.
