Omniscience in Marvel

Chapter 140: Omniscience in Marvel 136

Title -

"Meta-humans..?" Peggy asked looking at both Lucas and Thena.

"Humans capable of tapping into what could be termed… the metaphysical realm. A plane of existence that transcends the physical, material world. It is a dimension where forces that are beyond ordinary human perception reside." Lucas explained as easily as he could without stressing too much on anything.

"This realm is deeply tied to the principles of physics itself and is often associated with magic, certain spiritual energies that could, from a certain point of view, be called a radioactive energy." Thena said as she wiped her mouth with a napkin while letting Peggy process what they've said.

"And some of them…the humans," Thena continued, "might not be able to handle it. We've already seen incidents where people have lost control—unleashing forces that could destroy entire cities."

Peggy's eyes widened for a moment before she recomposed herself and set the folder down, her mind still reeling. "So, what's my role in all this? What's my… assignment?"

Lucas leaned forward. "Your role is to help guide this transition. To ensure that the world doesn't fall into chaos as these powers emerge. You're one of the few people who can straddle both sides, the mundane and the supernatural…or extraordinary."

"And you'll have to make some tough decisions," Thena added. "Decisions that might not always align with what you think is right. But they'll be necessary."

Peggy looked between them, realizing the gravity of what they were asking. "You're asking me to play a part in shaping the future of this world."

"Yes," Lucas said simply. "Because if we don't, someone else will. And they might not have the world's best interests at heart."

Peggy sat back, her mind a whirlwind of thoughts. She knew the path ahead wouldn't be easy. But as she looked at Lucas and Thena, she knew she couldn't turn away. The stakes were too high.

"Alright," she said finally, her voice resolute. "I'll do it. But I'll do it my way."

Lucas smiled, a hint of relief in his eyes. "That's all we ask."

Thena nodded, her expression approving. "Welcome to the new world, Peggy. It's going to be one hell of a ride."

YEAR: 1980

Thirty years had passed since then and world had changed in ways Peggy Carter could never have imagined during those quiet dinners in Lucas' home.

The once shadowy organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. had grown into a giant in its own rights. Its influence stretching into nearly every corner of the globe.

What had once been a war-time operation had evolved into a global watchdog. But with that growth came corruption.

"So you're telling me you need my stamp for this project?" an aged Lucas asked, his voice carrying the weight of authority and experience.

Peggy Carter sat before him, her youthful appearance almost a stark contrast to the elder statesman before her. The sharpness in her eyes seemed to hold the wisdom of ages as she matched Lucas' in intensity. "Hmm." She hummed and nodded.

"I see you picked up a habit of mine after all these years." Lucas said I'm just and opened the folder in front him and flipped through it. "Project Paperclip? I can see it's advantages as well as it's disadvantages at a glance. Gathering the world's greatest and brightest minds in one organisation?"

"SHIELD is no longer affiliated with any one country and considering our mission objective, isn't this project the only way to maximise our abilities?" Peggy leaned back slightly, her gaze fixed on Lucas. "While the notion of centralizing the brightest minds under one umbrella is filled with peril, it is precisely this convergence of intellect and innovation that may yield the fortitude we require."

"We are not merely consolidating power; we will be cultivating a repository of unparalleled expertise, one that, if properly harnessed, could safeguard not just a nation, but the entirety of our world. This Project, as daunting as it may seem, is not merely an option…it is a necessity in the face of the unprecedented challenges we are bound to encounter."

Lucas couldn't help the grin on his face from showing. It was as if he had been given an option to totally destroy the timeline as he wished.

THE PROJECT PAPERCLIP.

This was the project that would either sophisticate SHIELD properly, OR Allow the timeline to proceed as it should. .

In the original timeline, Under the guise of expanding its reach and influence, S.H.I.E.L.D. had unknowingly allowed the cancer to take root within its ranks, HYDRA.

The same organization that Peggy had fought so hard to destroy during the war had returned, stronger and more cunning than ever before.

The introduction of former enemy scientists, including THE Arnim Zola, under Operation Paperclip had been a turning point.

What was supposed to be a step towards securing the world's brightest minds had become an open invitation for Hydra to infiltrate every level of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Zola, with his genius intellect and twisted ideology, had not only survived but thrived, embedding Hydra's influence into the very DNA of S.H.I.E.L.D.

For decades, S.H.I.E.L.D. would the have maintained an open watch over the world, believing itself to be the ultimate safeguard against the unknown.

Lucas chuckled and brought his hands up in surrender. "You don't have to go into all that with me Peggy. You do you, you have my full support."

"Oh," Peggy said and came to start.

"C'mon. But if this is your excuse to come visit, I'll have my butler properly entertain your attaché while we go spend some time with the little stark."

"You've gotta be joking." Peggy rolled her eyes at Lucas and relaxed into her chair. "It's already so hard getting me to come here under the guise of convincing a high level consultant to accept the approval of the project. Don't get me locking heads with that little boy genius."

"Don't you find it cute? It's so rare for someone of that calibre to be born as a human. You'd only find something like this in a Reincarnation story where-"

"Alright. Alright. Alright. Let's get going." Peggy groaned and got up. "I wonder what that monster's up to."

"Maybe something fun, you can never understand the thinking process of geniuses." Lucas said and immediately got up and followed after her.

Anthony Stark was a genius. The type you'd only see in a well written Manhwa. Born on May 29, 1970. It was what one would term a miracle birth due to the ages of his Parents. Yet this wasn't questioned in any way.

Like one would expect from a family that basically ruled the world from the outsider perspective and safeguarding the world at the same time.

Tony's early life was often dominated by the absence of his father whom he would later describe as cold and calculating. But really…who cold really blame the man?

Majority of his time was focused on creating new things due to the knowledge that only 0.000001 percent of the world's total population knew. And making tough decisions that affected the world.

It was Normal that he wouldn't have time for family, and what little time he had, he always spent them with Tony in the way he felt was right…by showing him off.

That created the subconscious believe that his father was calculative.

At age four he built his first circuit board, a feat Howard didnt fail to let tje world know in his pride in his som. At age six his first engine, and currently at age 10.

To the young master of the Stark household, he basically lacked nothing. As a ten-year-old prodigy, the little stark was accustomed to a life of boundless resources. He even had his own personal lab.

Today, however, was set to break the routine.

The Stark estate rang abuzz as a grand limousine pulled up to the mansion, Peggy Carter stepped out first and Lucas followed with a cheerful and relaxed expression as he looked on expectantly. The servants and staff greeted them as they led them through the building.

Tony, who had noticed the arrival of his visitors, turned only for his face to light up with a rarely seen joy, a rarity in its own right...

"Uncle Lu! Aunt Peggy!" Tony called out, his voice carrying an infectious Charm as he dashed across the room.

Lucas, who already saw this coming, grinned broadly and spread his arms wide. "Well, if it isn't our young genius. How are you doing, Tony?"

Tony skidded and rushed into Lucas' arms before pulling himself out, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "I've been working on something new! You've gotta see it. It's—"

Peggy couldn't help herself at the sight, maintaining her composure, although she couldn't hide the warmth in her eyes, reached out to ruffle Tony's hair affectionately. "It's wonderful to see you, Tony. We've heard a lot about your latest projects."

"Come on, come on!" Tony beamed at that and urged, tugging at their sleeves as he led them towards his lab. "You have to see what I've been up to. It's not just any invention–"

In the large hall of the Hawthorne family mansion, Lucas who had just returned from his visit to the Stark Family was humming happily as he walked through.

"You seem particularly happy sir." Allen, who was now well aged well commented as he walked behind Lucas.

"Do I?" Lucas shot Allen a glance and asked.

"The childish glint in your eyes says it all, Sir." Allen replied calmly which caused Lucas to smile and shake his head. Allen could never understand what he was thinking and he couldn't be bothered to explain himself.

To Lucas, Tony was the perfect reincarnated MC. Born into a rich and noble-like household with an intelligence that was unmatched by the era.

On many occasions where Tony showcased his high level intellect, Lucas had used his Soul magic to scan the kid to see if there was anything unoriginal about him, but he always came out clean.

Lucas could count the amount of humans born with this level of intelligence. Not even Tesla could match, but then, there was the barrier of the Times in the case of Tesla.

"He'll be something great in the future." Lucas commented idly.

"Of course, sir." Allen said and kept silent for a moment before asking. "Forgive me for stepping out of my boundaries by asking this, but the elders wish to know what course of action you'll be taking in regards to conceiving an heir."

"Hmm?" Lucas hummed questioningly as he shot Allen a glare causing the old man to bow his head nervously. "Since when did my personal matters become a subject of discourse to you and the Elders?"

"My Apologies sir." Allen made a full ninety degree bow as he said that. He was already used to the pressure the men of the Hawthorne household exuded, but Lucas' pressure made his back run cold.

"Come now, you'll make me look like a villain." Lucas turned off the pressure his eyes gave off when he got emotional and continued walking. "A son, eh? Tell the Elders that they'll have a young master by this time next year."
