Chapter 18: Fighting The Dungeon's Boss Monster - Part 3
Bloom knew the monster didn't have long before it entered its weak state. Generally it would take ten seconds for the boss monster to be weakened, and this weakening would last for thirty more seconds.
Before the monster could attack him again, Bloom ran towards him, using his own set of skills again, started with stab, then slice, then the whole process of entrapping the monster restarted again.
This time, just after using slice skill for three times only, the monster entered a weak state. The damage it received escalated by fifty percent, making Bloom able to cost it three hundred points of damage in thirty seconds!
'We can do it,' he muttered to himself, as after this thirty seconds alone, the monster's Hp had decreased slightly less than its half.
He thought it would be futile to try and kill it during the first twenty minutes, but six minutes just passed and that monster had lost sixty percent of its Hp already.
That didn't give only Bloom some hope, it gave everyone else as well. Hope made them more daring, giving them more motivation and strength to attack the monster, which made the monster lose more than fifteen percent in the next four minutes.
The reason for this slow performance was what that cunning monster did! as it lost all hope in dealing with Bloom, it started chasing the other players. After two minutes of fighting other players, it started to focus on the rear, targeting Peri and the wizard next to her, as they both were the least defensive ones here.
That put Bloom under much stress, as he had to use one more Hp potion, while repeatedly using his ground breaker skill to defend Peri and that wizard.
"Get ready, the ten minute point is coming," he suddenly shouted at them, as he didn't know what AOE skill that monster would use.
He had a bad feeling regarding this, as dealing with this monster proved to be easier than what he expected so far. Just as he retreated to the back, trying to stand beside Peri, that monster raised its spear high in the sky, as a second shocking wave erupted, hitting everyone standing here.
"Damn, it's a stun skill!" Gored loudly cursed the moment he got hit by the skill. Bloom also realized it, as this was the worst skill ever for them, especially in this current situation.
The monster was now far from him, so near to the two shield bearers, one martial artist, and two swordsmen of the team. Bloom hurriedly opened his character profile, swept the interface with his eyes, and in less than a moment he knew how long this stun would last.
'Whole f*cking five seconds! That was unbelievable!' Bloom inwardly cursed for the bad luck.
As he realized this, others were now facing a terrible fate under the spear of that monster, which just gave Bloom a regretful glance, as he was away from him, before using its spear to hit the bodies of the players around him, using his shield to hit them hard, sending them flying away to hit the distant wall.
Gored was lucky, as he was sent to the wall with another swordsman, however the other two and the martial artist weren't that lucky, as they got themselves pierced by the spear couple of times, emptying their Hp, making their bodies hit the ground, dying this close from killing this monster.
That was really regretful, but Bloom knew at any dungeon, at any war, losses were inevitable.
The death of the three consumed the five seconds, finally releasing everyone from the stun effect. Just as everyone was freed, all of them screamed towards that monster, angrily jumping at it, attacking with all their might.
"Hurry and heal the two at front," Bloom held Peri's hand, for the first time, with an excuse to make her stop. His unexpected touch made her body electrified, stunning her for a second, stopping her from moving, without planning, out of rage, towards that monster.
"Just heal them," he repeated himself, as he darted towards the front, "and try to keep yourself safe," he added. This skill wasn't just a stunning skill, but it had some sort of aggro attraction impeded deep in it. it was such a sinister skill, as if he wasn't near Peri, she would have been gone to her demise by now.
As for the wizard and the summoner, they both were running without any mind at all, but Bloom was hot on their tale. The monster was waiting for them, as it waited patiently, taking all the hits from Gored and the other swordsman, doing nothing, until the wizard and the summoner neared it.
It then jumped over, crossing the remaining distance between it and the two, as it pointed its spear towards them.
At the same moment, Bloom also mimicked it, jumped crossing the distance, while turning mid-air, landing with his back to the monster, just slightly on par with the other two.
"Ground breaker!" he shouted, from the depth of his lung, as his sword moved in a flash, ending up clashing, again with that monster's spear, deviating its course, making it land, for the second time, into the ground, unable to be lifted easily.
"Go back!"
Bloom didn't hit the monster, instead, as he was rotating to face it, he used a simple, yet strange move, a backward kick, hitting both the wizard and the summoner, knocking them back, releasing them from the effect of the skill.
"Stab."
"Slice."
"Stab."
"Stab."
"Stab."
"Slice."
"Slice."
"Slice."
Bloom had also rage inside him, but he could control it to some degree, unlike the others inexperienced players. He vented all his rage over the monster, using a barrage of his skill over it, emptying in these thirty seconds over three hundred and fifty points of its Hp.
The monster suddenly lost slightly over ten percent of its Hp from Bloom alone in these mere thirty seconds! Again!
Others had taken slightly over five percent from its Hp as well during the same period. If not for that huge shield, that was used to defend and also to knock back Gored and that swordsman from time to time, they might have been able to make it lose more Hp!
However, after the weakening period ended, there were less than ten percent remaining of the monster Hp, and at this point Bloom knew he would be able to kill this dreadful monster before reaching the third skill!
"All on me, let's kill it!" Bloom suddenly shouted at everyone, igniting their fighting spirit even more, while he acted as the main distracting player to that monster, the main tank, and the main DPS as well!
At this stage, he didn't want to play safe, so he changed his tactics, using his skills to inflict more damage. The ground breaker skill had to play a major role here, as for his Hp lost in each exchange, he would get instantly healed, at an impressive timing, from Peri.
As he expected, in less than three minutes, with the berserker barrage of attacks he and everyone else were doing, the monster finally roared its last breath, falling heavily on the ground, dying at last, after it took with him the lives of three of their teammates.
But that didn't prevent them from raising their weapons, staffs, and even shields to roar with their loudest voice:
"We did it!"
"We are the winners!"
And Bloom stood on one side, observing this pure and sincere moment of celebration, marveling at the beauty of the human life; of being a player.
