Now That I Have Become a Woman, I Am a Vtuber

Chapter 82

After the first lesson.

I was given a singular homework assignment.

“What, jump rope?”

“Well… there’s that.”

My hefty task was to jump rope every day at home.

With a reassuring explanation from my instructor that since there were still three months left, I could expect some results if I kept at it, they even made a heartfelt request.

They added that it would look really cool if I danced too.

Right, isn’t it a bit unfair if a lady like Kim Soo-hyun dances well on top of her looks?

Just singing and playing the guitar is already unbalanced, but adding stamina and dancing onto that… I’m scared already. This feels like ecosystem destruction!

But if that’s the case… I’ll need to build up some stamina.

So, the day after the lesson, early afternoon, I stepped out into the yard with a jump rope to give it a try.

By the way, the weather is really nice; it’s fall, thank goodness. If it were summer, I wouldn’t even dare to consider jumping rope.

“Woof!”

Bok-sil, who had sulked for a moment because I ignored her yesterday, suddenly came over as if nothing happened.

Yeah, come here. I won’t be going out today, so I can give you some attention.

“Oops.”

I swooped up Bok-sil, who had dashed over, into my arms.

Now that I think about it, she’s a bit heavy.

So, hugging Bok-sil like that, I headed back home.

“?”

Bok-sil looked at me as if to ask why I wasn’t playing with her, but… I chose to ignore her.

I do want to play, but I have to jump rope, right?

With Bok-sil in the yard, I risked hitting her while jumping, so she had to be exiled inside.

After wiping Bok-sil’s paws clean, I placed her on the living room sofa and hurried back to the yard.

“Woof! Woof!”

I could feel her betrayed cries from behind, but… I ignored them. I need to jump rope.

If you’re really that upset, go complain somewhere else.

Well, nobody would understand anyway.

I stepped out into the refreshing breeze of the yard once more.

Now, I’ll just put on a popular song on my phone and start jumping rope.

Well, as long as I can jump the rope properly, it shouldn’t be too hard, right?

Naturally, at first, it was easy-peasy, but…

When I reached 50 jumps, then 100.

I started to get out of breath, and a bit of sweat appeared.

Furthermore, jumping rope made my sore muscles from yesterday’s lesson ache even more.

What a sight to behold.

But pushing that aside, this is… really boring.

Just looking at the same background while I jump—it’s tough, alright, but the time is dragging like crazy.

How long has it been since I started? I already feel like giving up.

How many minutes have passed?

I bit the bullet, practiced a bit more jumping rope, then wiped the sweat streaming down my face and grabbed my phone, which I had neatly laid out in a corner of the yard, to check the time.

“What the…”

…Only 6 minutes have passed?

I felt like I had been jumping for at least 15 minutes, but it’s just 6 minutes…

I tossed the jump rope onto the ground.

It felt like it was easier when I was in the lesson, but doing it alone is unbearable.

Sigh, but I have to keep going.

Before I do, I plopped down in the yard to take a short break.

By the way, my stamina really is an issue… I never once felt out of shape back when I was a guy.

Staring blankly at the sky, I noticed the vast blue above with fluffy clouds swimming leisurely.

I wondered what I would have been doing if I hadn’t become a girl.

What would I have been doing… probably taking a break from school and rolling around at boot camp.

Thinking that recharged my energy.

Yeah, this is still better than military service, right?

What’s so hard about jumping rope?

I sprang up from my spot and grabbed the jump rope.

Okay, let’s go full throttle for just 30 minutes, then shower and rest up.

As I prepared to start jumping rope again…

Ding-dong.

The doorbell rang from the main gate.

– A package has arrived!

A package?

I dashed to the main gate upon hearing the voice from across the door.

Oh right, I ordered something yesterday on my way home after dance lessons, recommended by Anna. Has it already arrived?

As I approached the main gate and opened the door, the delivery person was just about to set the package down.

“Oh, you came out.”

The delivery person flinched upon seeing me but quickly masked his expression and handed over the package.

“Thank you!”

With the package in hand, I headed back into the house, crossing through the yard.

Looking at the slip attached to the package, it was indeed the item I ordered yesterday.

Delivery is so fast these days; technology’s progress is mind-blowing.

I tossed the jump rope aside and unwrapped the package.

Out came the latest VR device, all white and beautifully designed.

I had an old, outdated VR device, but it didn’t work well anymore, and since Anna strongly recommended it yesterday, I ended up buying it.

Now that the VR device has arrived, I snapped a picture to boast in the group chat.

(Me): (photo) Just got it cheap, is this good? Hehe…

After sending the boastful picture, I put the VR device in my room and went to shower and change clothes.

If someone were to ask why I wasn’t jumping rope anymore… the flow got interrupted because a package arrived, didn’t it?

Today was just a test run; I’ll do it properly tomorrow.

So, after cleaning up, I connected the VR device to my computer, following the instructions I found online.

Once it was connected properly, I even tried a quick demo…

“Oh….”

This is surprisingly realistic.

Is it just because it’s the latest model?

The vividness makes it feel like it’s right in front of my eyes; it really feels worth the money.

I can’t help but want to broadcast this!

I should show the viewers too.

Though it may be a bit early, I decided to go live.

Well, I don’t have a specific broadcasting schedule, so why not?

[I bought new equipment (in a Shin-chan tone)]

The broadcast screen displayed the picture of the newly acquired VR device.

– ??
– Is that a VR device?
– When was Shin-chan even a thing?
– It’s nice to go live early…

“Hey everyone, I bought a VR device!”

– I think I might know what it is
– You just bought that now?
– Isn’t that a VR character thing?

“No, I had an old VR device, but Anna kept pushing me to buy this yesterday.”

– For real??
– If Anna had pushed, would you have bought it?
– Just admit you’re lying already

…Nobody believes me? It is a lie, though.

“Anyway, shall we try out a VR game?”

– Haha, finally getting into games..
– It was a long wait
– No way

“Okay, everyone recommend a game in the café.”

– ??
– Didn’t you have something in mind?

“I just got the delivery, so where would I have had time to decide?”

– Oh, I see you now.
– Ugh, I have to spoon-feed you again.
– This really is the last time…

I’m completely clueless about VR games.

So rather than searching for something aimlessly, I’ll just choose from recommendations given by the viewers familiar with these games.

I entered the fan café and browsed through popular posts while waiting for the viewers to post their game recommendations.

But then…

[Yesterday’s stream with Haru]

A title that’s hard to resist clicking appears boldly in the popular posts.

That was the day we had dance lessons, so did they already stream right after getting home?

I took a break that day… talk about stamina!

Clicking on the vide, I see Haru’s streaming screen.

It seems like she’s discussing our dance lesson…

She mentioned that the manager allowed her to say she’s learning to dance on stream.

Since we do it for five hours once a week, if she hides that schedule, the dissatisfaction would pile up, so she decided to share it to give the viewers some expectations or something.

Listening to what Haru is saying is quite something.

She casually mentions that since Miro spends all her time on the computer, she lacks stamina, couldn’t keep up with the dance, and ended up just jumping rope at one side, leaving her a wreck by the time she headed home.

Hmm…

Is Haru daring to defame me (not)?

“This is all false. No matter how much of a member you are, spreading these rumors is…”

[Artist Miro, thanks for the 10,000 won donation!]
Fact: Maho and Mile said the same thing.

– What do you mean by rumors? Haha
– Seems like you really do have horrible stamina.
– We saw that when you could only stream for two hours.

…Other members said that too?

That’s an outright collective assault.

With so many witnesses, I can’t deny it.

“Hmmm, it’s probably about time that recommendations started rolling in, right? Let’s go take a look.”

– Miro special: Changing the topic when things get tough
– Oh, the patterns are becoming clearer
– Yes, yes~ You should check the game recommendations, haha

…So they even discern the special move of changing the topic.

How do other streamers continue for years? If their techniques are revealed one by one, how are they supposed to proceed later…?

“Wow, quite a few recommendations have come in.”

Anyways, putting that issue aside, I clicked through the page, going through each game recommendation.

However…

“Ugh, no horror games, please!”

Why is it that every single one is a horror game? VR horror games? Are they trying to give me a heart attack?

– No, what the hell, when are you going to do one?
– Didn’t you promise to play League?
– Are you never going to do it?

Is horror gaming some kind of mandatory course?

They sure are pushy…

“Please don’t recommend horror games since they’re not on my schedule.”

After issuing that sharp response, I peered over the recommendations again.

Are there any decent games?

Something fun that can pass the time and is engaging.

As I was refreshing and refreshing the page, one post caught my eye.

[A custom game for someone without stamina like Miro]

Exactly the recommendation that aligns with my interests.

I clicked in immediately to take a look.

The game recommended in the post was a well-known VR game I recognized.

It’s a rhythm game where blocks fly according to the music, and you have to slice them with the swords in both hands.

I had seen it before and thought it looked fun, but I had completely forgotten about it until now!

Swinging swords to the rhythm sounds fun, that’s for sure. Plus, I can combine broadcasting, rhythm gaming, and stamina training all at once…

And swinging swords has a charming flair to it, doesn’t it? I really love that part.

“I’m really liking this one!”

– Haha
– Let’s go!
– Great
– Everyone, shhh
– Let’s dive in
– Haha

It seems the reactions are good. A few comments seem suspicious, but… how hard could a game be?

“Alright, I’ll be playing Beat Saber!”

This looks downright like a god game.

Thus, the first actual game using my new VR device was decided.
