Chapter 9: Wait and See
"We can wait and see. We can stay here first and not rush to find them. Anyway, they are the ones in a hurry now, not us, right?" Wesley suddenly laughed. His smile was a little lewd. He stared at Stark Industries stocks.
Now his funds could not buy much stock in Stark Industries, let alone make money, so he was prepared to wait. If it really was a parallel universe mapping, then Stark was coming back, and the first thing he would do when he came back was announce that he would no longer sell weapons.
"Now we need to go shopping, not only for my needs, but also for that group of people to see that I have changed. I am no longer the old me." Wesley got up and left the hotel and took a taxi to the shopping paradise in the city center.
Wesley was wearing a cheap suit and no tie. He walked straight into the mall with his wallet and faced the automatic sensor door. He checked his reflection. His hair was too long and parted in the middle. It looked awkward, despite his handsome face.
Walking into the lobby, Wesley went directly to the shopping guide's map and slid his finger across the glass side of the map. Finally, he pointed to a hair salon in the mall and went straight there.
"Hello, sir, welcome. How can I help you?" As soon as they entered, a beautiful lady greeted them and asked politely.
"Of course I'm going to change my hairstyle. I want the best hairstylist." Then he reached into his trouser pocket and took out a neatly folded dozen dollars. He pulled out one and handed it to the other party. It was a tip, a full fifty dollars. This tip was a lot. It was usually between a dollar and ten dollars. Wesley gave fifty dollars directly.
The beautiful lady immediately changed her business-like smile from the bottom of her heart and swayed her charming figure in front of Wesley to lead the way. "This is Jimmy, our best hairstylist. I hope you are satisfied."
"Very good." Wesley sat down directly. "Give me a short hair, something with a little character, and with my handsome face, how about it?" Wesley said proudly.
"There's no problem at all." Jimmy's voice is very effeminate, and his movements are the same. I really don't know how these fashion people train themselves or are trained. He doesn't do that.
Leaning back in his chair, he closed his eyes and let Jimmy wave the scissors over his head. After an eternity, he felt like he'd taken a nap. "Sir, it's done."
When Wesley opened his eyes again, he saw himself in the mirror, and then he smiled with satisfaction. His short hair was streaked with mousse, highlighting his handsome face. "Good, I'm very satisfied. Your craftsmanship is really good." He paid with his card and left.
It wasn't until he came out that his expression twisted. "Damn, he actually charged me five hundred dollars. This is too expensive." After complaining, he continued his shopping trip.
Many brands in this world were the same as his own world, so it was easy to find. He went straight to the suit area. There were shirts, suits, ties, belts, and other things that men needed for formal wear. It was just that the brands were different, but one could tell just by looking at the price. There were no cheap goods.
Versace suits were thousands of dollars cheaper and tens of thousands of dollars more expensive. Anything more expensive would be handmade. Wesley was not that rich. As he looked around, he realized that his aesthetic sense was not very good. He waved his hand and called for a salesperson.
"I find that my aesthetics are not very correct. I wonder if you can give me some advice?" Wesley asked directly. His charming smile is very lethal, especially with his new hairstyle.
"Sir, in fact, you only need to choose what you like. Our clothes are not the best, only better." The salesperson's words surprised Wesley. How much is your salary?
"That makes sense." Since she said so, I'll choose it myself. In fact, Wesley doesn't know that she said that because of his height, face, and figure. This is a clothes rack. She looks good in anything. If you don't believe me, find a fat man and ask her. See what she says.
Wesley felt that he might be a top-notch assassin in the future, and what would an assassin wear? A black suit would give him a feeling. Then he would walk over with a large pair of sunglasses and a handsome pistol under his arm and shoot the target twice. Although he would turn around and leave, he would get in the car and drive away. This was the handsome in his heart. To put it bluntly, he was still a homebody.
There were three suits, three shirts, three pairs of leather shoes, and a belt. It cost him a total of 150,000 dollars. He changed into one set and then left with the bag. He went to the glasses counter to buy a pair of high-end sunglasses and tore off the label. The handsome Prince Charming appeared. But just as he was about to leave, he suddenly remembered the environment of Textile Mill No. 17. Then he went back and bought a few pairs of jeans, high-waisted leather shoes, a T-shirt, and a leather jacket again.
Then, he bought a mechanical watch. It was a very advanced watch, but he couldn't see what the advanced watch was. However, the dial was very big and heavy. Could it be that it was about weight?
Satisfied, he walked out of the mall. Only then did he realize that he did not have a car. He took a taxi and came to a car shop. "Sir, welcome. Is there anything you like?" The car shop manager saw Wesley in a suit, which was enough to buy a car in the shop.
Wesley had a driver's license. An American driver's license was used as an ID, so basically everyone had one. "Just buy a random car. A Chevy will do."
"Please follow me. This year's new Chevrolet Camaro is not expensive. The starting price is $26,000." Wesley knows that American cars are not expensive at all, but he was Chinese back then. The tax alone is double, so Chinese people spend more money and can only buy worse cars.
As a homebody, he dreamed of having his own car, but that was just his dream. But now, as he looked at the Chevrolet Camaro in front of him, everything could be realized.
"Not bad. Give me a black car that can be driven away immediately. Is there a problem?" Wesley asked directly.
"Of course there's no problem, but the price!" The manager wanted more money, but Wesley didn't care. He was going to drive away now. "Money is not a problem." The rich man said. In the end, all he spent was $38,000. It was just the money for his clothes.
This was the Hornet model. "Apple, is there a Transformer in this world?" Wesley suddenly thought.
"I'm not sure. I only connected to the Internet for a few minutes. I didn't find out much." Wesley thought about it and decided it was better not to know. There were four double doors and a small trunk. He threw everything in and got in the car and left.
