Chapter 223: Rising Rasengan and Chidori!
"It seems that in your era, I've been inactive for so long that even someone as weak as you thinks they can stand against me," Haneda said, his expression cold as he fixed his gaze on Mukade.
The moment An Lushan threatened to kill Obito and Kakashi, Haneda had already sentenced him to death in his heart.
"Weak? Here in Roran, my power is limitless!" Mukade proclaimed loudly.
As his voice echoed, puppets began flooding into the factory. Within the massive structure, the puppets moved like ants, climbing the walls, while others hovered in the air, aiming their cannons at Haneda and his group.
Seeing the sheer number of puppets, Obito immediately turned to Haneda and said, "Uh, Haneda, I know you're the strongest in the ninja world right now—so hurry up and stop him!"
"Stop panicking, Dead Last. Haneda must have his reasons," Kakashi retorted calmly.
"Well, I hadn't planned on intervening…" Haneda clapped his hands together.
Instantly, massive trees erupted from the ground, sprawling upward and enveloping the entire factory. The encroaching puppets outside were completely blocked, while those inside were ensnared by vines that coiled around the puppets and drained their chakra.
Obito and Kakashi stared, wide-eyed, at the scene before them.
"That's… the First Hokage's Wood Release!"
The power of the *God of Shinobi*!
As Mukade took in the sight, the legends about Haneda began flooding his mind. The rumors about Haneda killing Onoki in front of the Iwagakure elders—denied by the village—were true! The power Haneda displayed now was enough to rival an entire ninja village.
"Haneda! You—you—you…"
Obito pointed at Haneda, utterly stunned by how effortlessly he had summoned such power.
"Focus on the enemy, Loser!" Kakashi shouted as he slashed through a puppet that had tried to ambush Obito.
Haneda had deliberately limited himself to just keeping the outside puppets at bay, allowing Obito and Kakashi to have the stage.
"I got it, stupid Kakashi!" Obito shouted back. "You go in head-on, and I'll look for an opening to strike."
Kakashi quickly devised a plan. Channeling his Chidori onto his silver blade, he surged forward, leaping from the head of a puppet and charging ahead.
Obito followed suit, launching a great fireball to force Mukade into a defensive stance. The flames roared, making Mukade shield himself with a jutsu, leaving him vulnerable to Kakashi's swift assault.
The Chidori Blade pierced straight through Mukade's chest.
But to Kakashi's shock, An Lushan grabbed the blade with his hand and sneered, "In this place, my power is infinite!"
He pulled the blade from his chest, tossing it aside. The wound on his chest instantly closed.
"Your body…?" Kakashi muttered, realizing there wasn't a single drop of blood. It dawned on him that Mukade had transformed himself into a puppet.
"That's right! This is the ultimate power of a puppet master!"
Mukade's body began to change, metallic limbs replacing human features. Within moments, he transformed into a massive, spider-like machine.
"What the heck?!" Kakashi, normally calm, couldn't hide his astonishment at the grotesque transformation.
Meanwhile, Obito frantically yelled, "Haneda! Stop just standing there—save us already!"
"Oh my, Obito-senpai looks so pathetic! Looks like I'll have to step in, hmm!" Deidara exclaimed as he flew in on his white clay bird.
Deidara tossed a handful of explosive clay onto the ground, smirking as he activated it.
"Admire my art!"
Explosions erupted throughout the factory, obliterating the puppets in an instant. This time, they didn't regenerate.
"What's happening?" Mukade exclaimed in shock.
At that moment, Minato emerged from the depths of the factory with Sara in tow.
Sara, her voice trembling with emotion, declared, "The power of the Ryumyaku has been severed. It's over, Mukade."
"Hah! Nonsense! My puppet army is already complete. I don't need the Ryumyaku anymore!"
Mukade extended countless chakra threads, connecting to the remaining intact puppets in the factory. They swarmed toward him, merging into his body.
Before long, Mukade had transformed into a giant over 50 meters tall.
"Haneda! Minato-sensei!" Obito instinctively called out, his voice tinged with desperation.
Even Kakashi turned toward Haneda and Minato, realizing that the current Mukade was beyond their abilities to handle.
"Obito, do you know how to use the Rasengan?" Haneda suddenly asked.
"Rasengan?" Obito blinked, recalling the technique Haneda had once taught him. He nodded. "Yeah, but why?"
"Come here. Kakashi, you too," Haneda instructed.
The two approached Haneda, still uncertain of his intentions.
"Hold out your hands," Haneda said.
He lifted Obito's left hand, forming a Rasengan that began to glow a fiery red, resembling molten lava. It was the Lava Release: Massive Rasengan.
Then, he raised Kakashi's right hand, enveloping it in golden lightning. The crackling energy formed a short blade—a manifestation of the Sword of Kusanagi: Totsuka's Wrath.
Obito and Kakashi stared at the power in their hands, momentarily speechless. Then, exchanging a glance, they nodded.
"Understood."
"It's time to show him the power of our bonds!" Obito declared.
Holding the Lava Release Rasengan, Obito charged toward Mukade. Kakashi, wielding the golden lightning blade, flanked him, attacking from the opposite side.
Sensing danger, Mukade tried to escape by leaping onto the factory walls.
But in a flash, Haneda and Minato used the Flying Raijin Jutsu to teleport Obito and Kakashi directly in front of and behind Mukade.
*Crackle!*
The Rasengan struck, melting through Mukade's metallic body.
*Slash!*
The lightning blade pierced straight through, cleaving the giant puppet in two.
With one final, resounding explosion, Mukade's massive form was obliterated. Metal fragments rained down, scattering across the ice Haneda had created.
"Art! Art!!" Deidara shouted in ecstasy. "Haneda-san, you understand my art! Explosions are fleeting beauty! Hmm!"
As the dust settled, Obito and Kakashi stood on either side of Haneda, gazing up at him.
"Well done," Haneda said, a rare note of praise in his voice.
Obito turned his head away, feigning indifference as he grumbled.
Kakashi crossed his arms and smiled. "It's all thanks to you, Haneda. I didn't realize how strong you'd become in just a few years."
"You'll become just as strong in the future," Haneda replied.
"What about me?!" Obito chimed in loudly. "What about me?"
Haneda glanced at him, suppressing his complex emotions. "You too," he said softly.
