Naruto: Unlimited Power

Chapter 14

Two days later.

"You there...You're the hero of our poor land..." An elderly man spoke out suddenly.

Walking through the dilapidated and desolate streets of his village, Tazuna was escorted. accompanied by Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura, these Genin walked under the pleasant sunlight alongside Tazuna.

Dressed in a tattered blue tunic, obscured with dust that matched his dirt-stain pants. Drawing attention to his cheap and worn shoes, he was bald with pale skin and a white beard, denoting his age.

"I have nothing to give, nothing of value and nothing of worth, I have no way to repay you ever..." As the bald man spoke, he smiled at Naruto.

The renown hero of their land, dozens of citizens intently glared at Naruto's whiskered face. Offering praise, admiration and thanks, they crowded around this young boy, reaching out to grab him.

Inspired by this fanatic worship, a shopkeeper ran into the street, yanking Naruto's hand. Dragging this young blond inside his store, he encouraged him to take anything he wanted within the shop, as a thank you for everything he had done.

For several seconds, Naruto was in complete and utter shock, never before had people been so nice to him. Eventually trailed by Sasuke and Sakura, they paved the path for Tazuna, entering the store.

"Excuse me! Can I please have your autograph!" A young child begged, tugging on Naruto's outfit.

Again, Naruto was speechless, usually, people kept he at arms reach, barely looking at him. But now, dozens of civilians gave him praise without restraint, the savior of their lands in all aspects.

Five minutes later.

"Why has everyone been calling me a hero?" Naruto pondered to himself.

Oblivious to Inari's words, this young boy told his village about everything that he saw. Detailing Naruto's speed, his friendly nature and the aid he provided, and him putting an end to the reign of terror all over their land. The firm declaration that they would be completely doomed without his arrival to prevent any further issues from happening.

Shoved against his young teammates, Sasuke, Naruto and Sakura were ambushed by a photographer. Snapping a rather sudden smiling image of Team 7 that didn't exactly capture all the right emotions, but this middle-aged man still escaped with his prize of that snapshot.

Naruto timidly strolled through the rather worn-down shop. Glancing over ancient weapons, rusty armor and dull blades, these items were salvaged from the 3rd Shinobi War.

Naruto took notice of a well-polished corner relative to the rest of the environment, and approached it with swiftness. Peering and shuffling through dozens of dust books, his eye was caught by a particular glass-covered display case.

Instinctively reaching out and opening the worn latch, six black kunai were exposed. Defined by three separate prongs and a familiar seal, Naruto raised a pair to his face, clouding his mind with a yellow flash.

"Young master, have you found anything you like?" The shopkeeper approached.

"Those have been in my store for over a decade, I used to travel the Land of Earth, and I found those." Stroking his chin, he explained the past.

"Can I have these? All six of em'?" Naruto questioned with a smile.

Answered by a booming laughter, this kunai was promptly wrapped and gifted. Bowing his elderly head in praise, this old man thanked Naruto for saving his village, and for saving his own life.

"I just know that kid is gonna be a hero!" The elderly man smiled as he watched Naruto exit to his Team 7 friends who waited outside.

Thirty minutes later.

Standing alone inside a worn and rusty shack, Naruto broke away from his teammates. Visiting the sole blacksmith in the land, he was met by a squeezing hug, praised for the safety he brought by providing everybody in the village freedom.

"How can I serve you hero?" The blacksmith asked with a huge smile.

Untying the unique headband that Iruka gave to him, Naruto cloned this badge of honor. Creating two carbon copies, he asked for a new symbol to be engrained, complete with swirling waves.

The blacksmith held these headband high in the air, mere inches below the candle on his ceiling. Stroking the bearded and fair-skinned face he possessed, this metal was lowered to his workbench.

Rushing into work, the blacksmith preformed this feat free of charge, as a thank you to Naruto. Muffled by the sound of a hammer striking metal, he chiseled and carved the steel surface.

"I've got you covered anytime hero!" The blacksmith said with a continued smile while resuming his work.

Two days later.

"You're not listening." Zabuza said with an angry tone.

Standing inside a grassy grove, this rogue shinobi stood beside Kakashi and Haku. Discussing the rather odd nature of Naruto's abilities, they were all trying to figure out what really went behind those eyes of his.

"Once I told him the proper seals to use, his jutsu was as natural as breathing." Kakashi said with a groan, still perplexed about the situation.

Cycling through a list of techniques, Naruto performed all of them without problem. Hiding in the Mist, Water Clones, even the fabled Water Dragon, he weaved each of them without a single mistake.

Despite Zabuza's extensive list and knowledge, Naruto drained all of it. Learning everything he had to offer in just four days, his whiskered student gained unprecedented abilities.

"That brings me to my point, the kid wont pick up a sword, says he just doesn't like it." Zabuza himself sounded quite angry at the prospect of the kid not using a sword.

"It's quite funny seeing how obsessed you are with the wielding of a sword." Haku giggled with a smile.

"That kid has all the potential in the world and he won't wield a weapon, of course I'd be pissed." Zabuza scoffed.

"Regardless, I'd like to take into consideration evaluating everybody else within my team and seeing how everything goes from there. I believe more answers will come with Naruto as time goes on." Kakashi concluded.

As Sasuke was trained in the manipulation of Lightning Style, Sakura's finesse was tested by Haku. Having nothing left to teach, these shinobi decided to rotate their students around and gain as much information regarding the trio, training Team 7 without pause at any point.

Three days later.

A flock of seagulls hovered over a small crowd of citizens, positioned on a freshly constructed bridge. Pristine and cobbled with grey marble, this entrance to the Land of Waves were highly populated.

"Naruto! Naruto!" Inari screamed, dashing from the crowd happily.

"Wil-... Will you ever come back?" He was met by a gentle head pat accompanied by a smile.

With Iruka's memory flashing in his vision, Naruto yanked a three pronged kunai from his satchel. Imbued with the seal of the Flying Thunder God, if the Land of Waves ever needed him, he would return no questions asked.

"Really? That's so cool!" Grabbing the kunai, Inari's smile grew even bigger.

At that moment, Zabuza and Haku broke free from the crowd, each wearing a large backpack. This garnished the attention of several families, glaring at the rogue shinobi with distrust.

"It's about time we get out of here too." Zabuza muttered out.

"Not a fan of all that ramen you've been consuming?" Haku asked curiously.

"I make the damn ramen, I could never get sick of my own meal." Zabuza shook his head.

"Hey! Zabuza!" Naruto abruptly cut in.

"Could you stay here and protect them? Please?" Naruto asked with urgency.

Zabuza took a moment before responding.

"You've got guts kid. Asking me of all people to stay out here but...You've earned it." Zabuza scoffed.

"I'll stay kid. I'll protect this place. I'll make it my new home." Zabuza declared.

Hearing this statement, Naruto pulled a pair of headbands from his shuriken pouch. Engraved with a spiral pattern of three separate waves, they were lined against navy blue fabric.

The life of a shinobi was a life of discomfort, of pain and sacrifice, devoid of joy. This was the truth of Zabuza's life and he knew this very well, a world that was built and defined by unending conflict, by bloody war. That's why...This place would be his grove...His home...The place that he would never let anybody touch as long has he lived.

"What shinobi village is this? I've never seen it before?" Haku glanced at the unique symbol.

"It's the symbol for the village hidden in the waves!" Naruto cheered.

Creating a new shinobi nation, Naruto was extremely casual, filled with young vigor. Instilled by this new, dozens of citizens broke into a bustling roar, praising the safety their shinobi would bring.

"The blacksmith made it for me!" He displayed an iconic thumbs up.

Suddenly, Zabuza's outstretched his right hand before gently stroking Naruto's scalp. Quickly retracting this limb, he groaned with a hostile tone, acting like nothing even happened.

"Be careful kid, life is cruel... Don't let it get to you, like it got to me." Zabuza spoke before turning around.

Haku briefly turned and looked towards Zabuza.

"Zabuza..."

Zabuza's attention was instantly grabbed by the sound of his name.

"Haku."

When I return...May we perhaps make a nice bowl of ramen together?" Haku asked happily.

Zabuza began to chuckle, before it turned into a full-blown laughing fit as he declared his answer to Haku's statement.

"Yes, Haku. We'll make a nice bowl of ramen together." Zabuza said smiling underneath his mask.

Haku merely bowed before waving to Zabuza as a big smile made its way onto his feminine face.

Waving a dismissive hand back, Zabuza strolled back to town.

"I'm gonna drink so much alcohol...I need it..." Zabuza muttered to himself.

A few minutes later

Naruto tripped over his own feet as they walked, Team 7 laughed at this display while Haku held his feminine face with one hand giggling, standing beside Tazuna.

"He'll never leave... Not really..." Tazuna mumbled, pointing at the archway overhead.

Labeled as the Great Naruto Bridge, the Land of Waves would forever be guarded by their savior. Oblivious to this realization, Team 7 blindly ran past a stone statue, the chiseled depiction of Naruto who would stand ready as stone protection.

With an extended right palm and painted Rinnegan eyes, this stone was carved with extreme respect and power. Built to last, this statue blocked to entrance to Tazuna's bridge, guarding his home from intruders forever.
