Naruto : The Demon Swordsman

A battalion of five hundred shinobi marched through the forests of the Land of Grass led by one of the S-rank shinobis of Iwa. They all were completely relaxed since they had not met any resistance till now.

The S-rank Shinobi was called Hikabi and was a member of the clan that possessed the Kekkei Genkai of explosion release.

He was one of three captains of the explosion corps of Iwa which comprised of explosion release users and were responsible for causing destruction and sabotage wherever they went.

Hikabi was in the middle of the marching army as he heard what his soldiers were talking about while they marched. He was getting bored because of the lack of action so he wanted to entertain himself a little.

"Do you think Commander Hikabi is strong enough to win against that Genkai Uzumaki of Dark Release?"

"As much as I admire the commander, I am afraid he would not be able to win against that Genkai. He has the ability to teleport and absorb most kinds of ninjutsu. He could even absorb commander's explosions pretty easily."

"Yeah, You are right. It's good that he is reported to be in Uzushiogakure and not taking part in these battles."

"Don't count on that piece of information much. Genkai can easily teleport to most of the battlefields in no time."

Hikabi agreed with them as he thought

'While I have not fought Genkai Uzumaki, I have seen him enough to know that he is just on another tier. He can teleport to any battlefield, heck he could appear right next to me the next second.'

Hikabi paused and checked his surrounding shadows for a second to make sure that he had not jinxed himself. When there was no sign of Genkai, he focused back on the conversation of his subordinates.

"What about the grandson of the Uzukage, Yoriichi Uzumaki, the one known as the demon swordsman? Do you think that the captain can beat him?"

"Well, I have heard that guy had killed a few shinobis on the stronger side. They say that he is a monster with the strongest Kenjutsu and the strongest dojutsu. Coupled with his Uzumaki clan's kekkei genkais and fuinjutsu, he is a monster."

"But still he is a kid and lacks experience and conviction like the captain. Commander Hikabi would have the kid explode with a single punch hahaha."

Hikabi did not let that go to his head. He knew that it would not be that easy to kill that Yoriichi. The kid was a monster. He had seen his unique kenjutsu and it was a sight to see. It had both elegance and destructiveness combined in it.

While he had not seen the dojutsu called Dharmagan in action, he had heard about the black rods that appear out of nowhere and attack anyone Yoriichi wants. Only Sage knows what other abilities that dojutsu has.

Hikabi then focused on other shinobi's conversation hoping that he would not encounter any of Uzushiogakure's monster shinobis.

"Why do you think we have not seen any resistance from Konoha and Uzushiogakure? They should have been guarding the Land of Grass right?"

"Well, Konoha is defending the other side of the border. I have overheard one of the scouts who have brought the information to our camp saying that the Konoha and the combined armies of Kumo, Kiri, and Taki have engaged each other. As for Uzushiogakure, they were supposed to be engaging with us but aside from the shinobi stationed inside their camp in the former Hozuki castle, they have completely disappeared."

"Do you think that they have given up on defending this country since the rumors are that the Kusakage conspired against them? This incident even led to the destruction of the Hozuki castle. Is this how they are taking revenge on them by not helping them?"

"Then why would they mobilize their troops along with four S-rank Shinobi? I believe that something is wrong. There is no way Uzushiogakure would leave Konoha alone to defend the land. They might be planning something. They even left the border towns alone and have completely evacuated them."

"You are just being paranoid, man. Just think about it. Why would Uzushiogakure help protect another country's land whose military had tried to attack their people?"

"You might be right but I just have a bad feeling about it. Well, Let's secure the Kanabi bridge for now."

Hikabi too felt that something was wrong. There was no way Uzushiogakure would abandon Konoha. He could feel that there was a trap set up for them somewhere.

He could see the Kanabi bridge in sight as he mumbled "Whatever that may come, We will take them on and win for Iwa. And even if I die, I would take hundreds of the enemies with me."

As he thought about that, multiple black rods appeared in front of many shinobi in the front, Hikabi's eyes widened.

And before he could order his shinobis to defend himself, shurikens and kunais along with explosion seals were thrown towards them from below the bridge as well as from the top of the trees.

The explosion seals exploded and the black rods took the lives of the shinobi who were too relaxed.

Hikabi shouted "AMBUSH"
