Chapter 310: Chapter 310: A Fight Breaks Out Over Barbecue!
The Third Hokage looked much older than Koharu Utatane and the other elders of the same age, likely due to the long-term stress and overwork he endured. As the meeting dragged on, it dissolved into pointless chatter, and by the time the sky began to brighten, the exhausted Hokage finally adjourned it.
Shinki and Nara Shikashin left the Hokage office building together. Shikashin leaned in and whispered:
"The Hokage has always wanted to propose a non-aggression treaty with the other villages, but every time, it's been rejected. I suspect he'll push for it again during the upcoming peace talks."
Shinki responded with a wry smile. "That might be his intent, but such a proposal won't be easy to implement. Training qualified ninja from civilian families requires substantial funding."
"Exactly," Shikashin sighed. "And given the village's current financial constraints, it's unlikely the Hokage will agree to allocate more resources."
Shinki chuckled. "Money is always the problem, isn't it? The wealthier families, like Sarutobi and Shimura, always seem to have enough, but civilian families? Heh, not so much."
Despite his reservations, Shinki added, "Don't worry about me, senior. I'll just suggest what I think is right. How the Hokage decides to proceed is his business. When negotiations begin, I'll keep quiet."
"Keep quiet?" Shikashin smirked. "If you don't say a word, people might think the Hokage offended you somehow."
"Not my problem," Shinki said with a laugh. "Anyway, I'm heading home to sleep. Good night—or should I say, good morning?"
"Wait a minute!" Shikashin called out. "Let's grab breakfast. It's dawn already!"
The Barbecue Breakfast
Shinki, true to his style, didn't settle for a simple breakfast. Instead, he led Shikashin to the morning market, bought a fresh leg of beef, and started grilling it by the river.
"You're too much," Shikashin muttered, biting into a piece of fragrant, perfectly cooked beef. Despite his complaints, he couldn't stop eating.
After two bowls of beef, Shikashin finally patted his stomach in satisfaction. "Alright, old man's done. Time to head home. Thanks for the meal!" Humming a cheerful tune, he sauntered off, leaving Shinki to clean up.
Shinki packed the leftover beef in a box and headed home. As he walked in, he was greeted by an unusual sight: Tsunade and Kushina sitting together on the sofa.
"Wow, you're up early," Shinki said, raising an eyebrow.
"This damn girl woke me up to make breakfast," Tsunade grumbled, glaring at Kushina. "Can you believe it? Me, cooking breakfast! And it's barely edible!"
"Serves you right!" Kushina taunted, sticking out her tongue from behind Shinki. "You spanked me, so now you don't get to sleep in. Fair's fair!"
Shinki sighed. "You two never stop, do you? Anyway, I brought barbecue. Want some?"
Both women froze. Their earlier quarrel forgotten, they turned their attention to the box in Shinki's hand. "Barbecue? For breakfast?" Tsunade asked, incredulous but intrigued.
"It's still warm. Beef leg," Shinki said, opening the box.
The Fight for Barbecue
Tsunade and Kushina's rivalry reignited almost immediately, this time over the grilled meat. What started as playful banter escalated into a full-blown struggle, with Kushina calling on the Nine-Tails for help.
"I'll win this time!" Kushina declared, her hair flowing wildly as golden chakra enveloped her body. The sheer intensity of her chakra caused a shockwave, knocking Tsunade off her feet and sending her crashing into the wall.
"Damn it, you little brat!" Tsunade yelled, but Kushina wasn't backing down. Her red hair fluttered as nine chakra tails erupted from her body, tearing through the ceiling and sending debris raining down.
The sheer force of the Nine-Tails' chakra burst was unmistakable. Konoha's villagers stopped in their tracks, staring in the direction of the commotion.
Aftermath
Shinki stood by the bathroom door, toothbrush in hand, watching the chaos unfold. He sighed, unconsciously taking a step back as the house's ceiling crumbled.
"So much for a quiet breakfast," he muttered.
The spectacle wasn't about the barbecue anymore—it was a clear fight between sisters, one fueled by stubborn pride and a dash of Nine-Tails chakra. For now, Shinki could only hope the Hokage wouldn't come running to investigate.
"Great. Another repair bill," he sighed, shaking his head as the two women continued their fiery battle.
