Naruto: Paws and Whiskers

Chapter 24: Chapter 24

As the sun rose the next day, the Ninja Academy granted those preparing to graduate a week of free time.

Rin prepared to spend this time in the hospital, but Takeshi, her beloved cat, couldn't accompany her due to his germy nature and difficulty in controlling his feline instincts.

"Father, Mother, I'm going out, please take care of Takeshi," Rin said hastily, then rushed to Konoha Hospital.

"Go ahead, don't worry." Aizawa replied with emotion, realizing his daughter was growing up and making her own decisions.

'This is a good thing, but my wife will have one more person to worry about in the future... No, it should be two.' He gazed at Takeshi, who was lounging peacefully.

When Rin ventured out, there was no reason why this ninja cat wouldn't join her. Although he was just a cat, in just ten days, the family had grown attached to him, especially Megumi. As a mother, her affection for Takeshi was no less than Rin's.

'Why is Father Nohara looking at me? Has he been discovered that I've gained weight?' Takeshi quickly sucked in his stomach, but it was of no use.

His food had been better than before, and as he grew older, his figure and belly did too. This cover-up made Aizawa notice his rounded belly.

"Oh, Megumi, look at our cat..." Aizawa said, gesturing to Takeshi's side.

"What's wrong?" Megumi asked, hurrying out of the kitchen to see the cat reclining in his nest. She looked at her husband confused, but there was nothing amiss...

"Don't you think he's fat? he shouldn't be that big normally!" Aizawa pointed out.

"When you say that, he does seem a little big." Megumi approached, inspecting Takeshi's physique.

Takeshi stood up warily and started running towards the door – a certain cat had vowed to exercise the previous night, but seemed to have forgotten all about it when he woke up that morning.

He stepped back and bumped into a leg, looking up to see Maito Obito. He panicked and tried to flee, but Aizawa, accelerated by the Shushin-no-jutsu, picked him up.

Aizawa glanced at Obito and replied, "Rin went to the hospital."

"I know, I'm here to see Takeshi," Obito said happily, bringing out some dried fish.

Takeshi felt uneasy, so he didn't even bother to eat the fish and stared at Obito suspiciously.

"Looking for Takeshi?" Megumi asked warily, her eyes narrowing. She had heard that Obito had met the little black cat first, but what happened later was that the little black cat was adopted by Rin... Is it possible that the child wanted to take the cat back?

"I heard from Guy that Takeshi is a cat who likes to exercise and run. He just needs to strengthen himself recently, and I would like to ask Takeshi to exercise with me," Obito explained.

'Guy!!!, I will bloody kill you!' Takeshi thought, fuming that his vow to exercise had been exposed. He was only seven months old, and there was no way he could escape from Aizawa.

Otherwise, he would've scratched Obito, making holes in his green tights.

"Of course that's good," Aizawa replied, beaming with delight.

On one hand, someone was exercising the black cat on his behalf, and on the other hand... there were actually people in the world who thought this cat liked to exercise!

What kind of weird thinking does that person have towards Takeshi? If this guy likes to exercise, his belly wouldn't have grown to a level visible to the naked eye within ten days.

"No~!" Takeshi cried out, although he didn't know how hard Obito trained, he and Guy were now in the same category, and they couldn't be treated as normal people.

"Takeshi, you can speak!" Megumi exclaimed, her eyes filled with joy, realizing that the little black cat's potential was higher than either of them had guessed.

"No!" Takeshi repeated, trying to look cute. As for the vow he made yesterday... we'll talk about it tomorrow, Yeah! Exercise tomorrow, and take a break today.

"No, you have to exercise, lose weight, and start eating properly from today on," Aizawa declared ruthlessly.

The battlefield has always been about survival of the fittest. Not every ninja has the surname Akimichi. Aizawa was aware of the consequences of obesity for ordinary ninjas. He was cruel now so that Takeshi could survive on the battlefield in the future.

"Come exercise with me. You see, I was very lazy before, but what Guy said makes sense. If our talent is not good, we have to work hard. If we can't even compare with others in our hard work, then what right do we have to surpass the genius?" Obito shared his experience and wisdom. Takeshi waved his claws but was eventually dragged away by force.

Obito was different from Guy. He was not as fast as Guy. Takeshi had many chances to escape, so he finally chose to pretend to surrender. It was a pity that fate played tricks on people.

Not long after Obito and he stepped out of the house, an authentic green figure quickly ran towards him.

It was so bright and green that Takeshi couldn't help but shrink back from Obito. If Aizawa hadn't been watching from the door, he might have run away right then.

Guy didn't see them at first. Obito didn't call him out either - real training should be as focused as Guy's, with all his heart and soul. As a result, he admired Guy even more.

Takeshi was secretly thankful that Guy didn't notice him, and he would run away as soon as he had the chance to avoid being tortured by the two demons.

But the next second... "Obito, I didn't notice you just now. Do you want to radiate youthful blood today? Hey, it's... little Takeshi!"

"Uncle Nohara agreed to let us take him for exercise, so we're getting ready to start running." Obito chuckled.

"Very good, let's let our youth bloom together!" Guy shouted, taking the lead in rushing forward. Obito put Takeshi down and ran forward quickly. Takeshi followed him for a few steps, then turned the corner and ran away quickly.

The two idiots didn't look back at all, thinking they were just running away. The blue beast of Konoha is indeed a special beast. 'But I didn't expect Obito to become like this. Is it my fault?' Takeshi sighed softly.

"Trash." At this moment, a cold voice came. It looked up and saw the dazzling silver hair... "A ninja who cannot complete the task is trash." Kakashi stared at Takeshi, explaining what he had just said, he knew this cat understood.

'Why are you everywhere?' Takeshi was secretly annoyed. "If you don't want to train with them, then come with me, so that you won't be alone..." Kakashi bit his finger and formed a seal, then pressed it to the ground.

A ninja dog appeared. A small dog, wearing a Konoha forehead protector, had obviously been certified as a ninja dog and had become a real Konoha ninja dog. Takeshi recognized it.

This guy's name was Pakkun, and he was a non-combat ninja dog. Takeshi thought, considering the dog an easy target, and took the opportunity to collect some points from Kakashi.

Kakashi was already an elite Chunin now, right? Plus, he was curious. With Kakashi's indifferent personality, why did he pull him to train together?

Could it be that Kakashi likes cats? Thinking of the dog-head icon on the Earth release wall, he thought it was unlikely. This guy is a pure dog lover.
