Chapter 3: MSIN: Chapter 3

"So that's it!" Might Guy said. It seemed he had found a shortcut to countering genjutsu ninjas!

"Are you an idiot? How can you fight with your eyes closed?! You can't see your opponent's movements, that's basically suicide!" Obito sarcastically remarked. As a perennial bottom-feeder, there weren't many opportunities for him to feel superior to another bottom-feeder.

If Kurenai knew a bit more about Haori, she wouldn't have said so much. She should have known that Haori was especially good at provoking his opponents.

"Then stick to your own strategy. Don't regret it if you lose!" Kurenai said bitterly. She didn't care if Haori was ready, and she threw two shuriken at him.

Although she was a genjutsu ninja, that didn't mean her only attack methods were genjutsu. She was still capable of using shuriken and kunai!

Haori's eyebrows twitched slightly, and then he opened his eyes. This classmate sure went for the kill. The two shuriken were aimed directly at his chest!

However, for any ninja, a frontal shuriken attack was almost impossible to land.

Haori quickly drew a kunai from his weapon pouch and blocked the attack.

"Clang! Clank!" The two shuriken were accurately blocked by Haori.

"Didn't you say you were going to fight with your eyes closed?" Kurenai said sarcastically, since Haori had opened his eyes.

In battle, teachers generally didn't stop verbal conflicts like this, as it could be a part of psychological warfare.

Haori could indeed disrupt his opponent's psychology, but that wasn't why he was talking. The reason was simple: he just liked to trash-talk.

"Hmm, I thought I said that closing my eyes was to counter your genjutsu. Did you use genjutsu just now? Oh… So the Yūhi clan's genjutsu is like this. We usually call this sort of thing shuriken." Haori asked with an innocent, earnest expression.

"Haori's terrible personality…" The three who knew Haori couldn't help but have the same thought.

As expected, Kurenai became even more furious, feeling like she was being made fun of! She immediately threw three more shuriken at Haori.

Haori blocked the shuriken again, then he said, "Forget shuriken, aren't you going to use genjutsu? You'll lose if you don't. I'm better than you at shuriken throwing."

Kurenai suddenly noticed that one shuriken was traveling in a large arc towards her!

"When?!"

She didn't even see Haori move, how could he have thrown a shuriken without any warning?

But because the shuriken had to travel in a large arc to reach her blind spot, then appear suddenly, the shuriken's force had lessened by the time it reached her. She quickly blocked it with her kunai.

"Clang!"

Haori's attack didn't seem to work.

Kurenai was just about to mock Haori's shuriken technique. How could such a simple trick hit her!

But at that moment, she heard someone urgently say, "Watch out! It's a shadow shuriken!"

"What?!"

Haori hadn't thrown one shuriken, but two. The two shuriken traveled in the same large arc, and he used the shadow shuriken technique, the difficulty of which was beyond most ninjas' comprehension. You have to remember, these were shuriken less than ten centimeters in diameter, not giant Demon Wind shuriken!

Kurenai immediately realized the danger. She clumsily dodged!

The shuriken cut through her sleeve, leaving a shallow wound on her arm.

If she hadn't been warned, that shuriken would have disabled her, and would have caused at least several weeks of injury!

"Asuma Sarutobi, this is a two-person battle, no one is allowed to give any tips! If you interfere again, Kurenai will immediately fail!" Sensei Aizawa immediately warned Asuma! The teacher's tone was filled with anger, and he didn't hesitate because Asuma was the son of the Hokage. That was originally a move that would decide the winner, but because of Asuma's interference, it became a pointless attack.

"Yes, Sensei." Asuma Sarutobi lowered his head obediently. He knew he had made a mistake. When he saw Kurenai about to be injured, he blurted out the warning without thinking.

(ShixT9: SIMPPPPPP)

It was supposed to be a decisive move, but because of Asuma's warning, it became a meaningless attack.

The two shuriken flew in perfect sync, using the shadow shuriken technique. The difficulty was definitely beyond the comprehension of ordinary ninjas. You have to remember, these were shuriken less than ten centimeters in diameter, not giant Demon Wind shuriken!

Kurenai checked her wound. It was just a graze, not serious, but her right hand, which was holding the kunai, was still numb.

In an instant, she figured out Haori's attack technique.

"You used Lightning Release on the shuriken?!" Kurenai asked in disbelief. You had to know that there weren't many students in the entire academy who could use chakra nature transformations skillfully. More importantly, she was sure that Haori hadn't done any hand seals since the battle started. So, the question was: how did he use Lightning Release?

Haori shrugged, not answering Kurenai's question.

"How did you make a shadow shuriken with such a small shuriken?" She asked, still a little unconvinced.

This time, Haori answered, because his inner "teacher" was burning with the urge to explain. "Making two small objects move in a large arc with synced trajectories, and maintaining a certain acceleration at the last moment, that's not easy. It involves applications of magnetism, magnetic declination, and corrections for the Coriolis Effect. I summed up a rather complicated formula for it, but it puts a bit of strain on the user's mental calculation ability…"

(ShixT9: I just translate guys, I don't know if any of this shit is true)

"Magnetism?" Kurenai was more confused than ever, the words she hadn't heard before were making her dizzy.

"From a physics point of view, magnetic fields are electric fields, electricity and magnetism are inseparable, or rather, electricity is magnetism, and magnetism is electricity. And Lightning Release, to put it simply, is the application of electricity."

Kurenai: "…"

Sensei: "…"

Classmates: "…"

Everyone was inwardly screaming. What in the world did he just say? Why didn't we understand a single word?

Then they started looking at each other's reactions. Someone was nodding repeatedly, maybe he understood?

So, in order to not appear too stupid, everyone else started nodding too.

"Obito, do you understand what Haori means?"

"Ah? Me? …Of course I understand. What, do you need me to explain it?"

Although Guy wasn't very clever, and sometimes he acted like a wild animal, nobody dared to treat anyone else like a fool.

After staring at Obito deeply, he said, "No, you don't need to explain it. I think I understand."
