Naruto: Fire-Release system

Chapter 1: This Uchiha is So Weak

Chapter 1: This Uchiha Is So Weak!

----

The sky was already approaching dusk.

A 13- or 14-year-old Uchiha boy dragged his tired body back to the Uchiha clan compound in Konoha.

Staring at the last rays of sunlight on the horizon, Uchiha Yi's face was filled with worry and bitterness.

It had been more than a month since he crossed over into the world of Naruto and became a member of the Uchiha clan.

Despite working himself to the bone every day in training, his progress in ninjutsu and taijutsu was utterly dismal.

To make matters worse, the infamous "Uchiha Clan Massacre" was looming dangerously close!

How did Uchiha Yi know this?

Simple—Uchiha Itachi was the same age as him, which meant that the 13-year-old "dutiful son" Itachi was about to initiate the massacre.

Although he couldn't pinpoint the exact date, it could very well happen tonight, tomorrow night, or at the very least, sometime soon.

In short, it was imminent and could occur at any moment!

What kind of rotten luck was this?

If only he had crossed over earlier or later, giving himself enough time to prepare, he wouldn't be stuck in such a precarious situation!

Want to grow stronger?

One month was far too short to bring about any meaningful change.

Flee the village?

Konoha was tightly surveilling the Uchiha clan. If he dared to take even one step out of the village, Danzo Shimura, the "Shadow Hokage," would undoubtedly have him "re-educated" within minutes.

Believe it or not, Uchiha Yi was convinced of this!

And with his current strength—barely at the level of a low-ranking ninja (Genin)—he had no options and no way to strategize a way to avoid disaster.

But he wasn't willing to simply sit back and wait for fate to claim him.

For the past month, he had thrown himself into training, hoping to improve his strength, even if just a little.

Who knows? That tiny bit of strength could be the difference between life and death.

Unfortunately, this body he had inherited was absurdly weak!

Perhaps it was his name, but his chakra attributes were limited to Fire and Yin, with the Fire attribute overwhelmingly dominant.

Without sufficient Yin chakra, he still hadn't awakened the Sharingan!

To make matters worse, this body could only perform the Fireball Jutsu, Fireball Jutsu, and… more Fireball Jutsu.

He was essentially an Uchiha who could only use Fire Release techniques!

No wonder he was so weak!

In the memories of this body's original owner, he and Itachi were mockingly called the "Two Extremes of the Uchiha Clan" by their clansmen.

One was an "extreme" genius.

The other was an "extreme" weakling.

Obviously, the "extreme" weakling referred to the original owner of this body.

What a joke—an Uchiha this weak? Even early-stage Obito Uchiha was better than this!

What could Uchiha Yi do?

The thought of how useless this body's original owner was made him want to punch himself.

But since he had become this body's new owner, beating it up would essentially mean beating himself up.

All he could do was swallow his anger and frustration.

"Ugh!"

This was the end. He had no way out, no room to resist!

Sighing deeply, Uchiha Yi struggled to suppress the bitterness welling up inside him.

Speaking of which, don't transmigrators usually get some sort of cheat system? Where's mine?

It's been a month! Not even a hint of one!

Just as Uchiha Yi's despair was about to peak—

"Ding! Fire Release System is activating. Please wait."

A melodious voice echoed in Uchiha Yi's mind, like a father gently calling to his son.

"Father, is that you? You're finally here! Your son missed you so much!"

Night fell, blanketing Konoha in darkness.

Ordinary villagers were ordered to stay indoors, though they didn't know why.

Still, they trusted that the Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, had his reasons.

Meanwhile, members of Konoha's major clans sensed something ominous brewing, as if a storm was about to break.

They tightened their control over their clansmen, issuing stern warnings not to leave the clan grounds.

In a dimly lit chamber within the Hokage's office, the Third Hokage took a drag from his pipe and exhaled a puff of smoke.

Gazing at the kneeling figure before him—Uchiha Itachi—his expression fluctuated between hesitation and determination.

"Have you made your decision, Itachi?" Sarutobi asked solemnly.

"Yes, Lord Third," Itachi replied, his voice cold and resolute.

"Ah…"

"I never imagined it would come to this," Sarutobi sighed.

"Konoha can no longer afford another war. If a civil conflict erupts, the fragile peace in the ninja world will shatter.

"The other four great villages would seize the opportunity to invade. At that point…"

Sarutobi didn't finish his sentence but shook his head sorrowfully.

"Itachi, on behalf of Konoha, I thank you.

"You're preventing an internal rebellion and preserving Konoha's hard-earned peace.

"Rest assured, I will protect your younger brother, Sasuke, and ensure he becomes a fine ninja."

"Thank you, Lord Third," Itachi said, his face softening with gratitude.

The rift between the Uchiha clan and the village had long troubled him. Despite his efforts to mend their relationship, his clan misunderstood him, labeling him and Shisui as traitors.

Now, with the clan plotting rebellion, peace was on the verge of collapse.

Resolving himself further, Itachi's determination hardened.

"After tonight, this matter stays between us," Sarutobi said.

"From tomorrow onward, you will be labeled an S-rank rogue ninja, blamed for the Uchiha Clan Massacre, and pursued by Konoha for the rest of your life.

"This path will not be easy."

"I've been prepared for this for a long time," Itachi replied coldly, removing his mask as a sharp glint flashed in his eyes.

"Then it begins," Sarutobi declared.

With a flicker, Itachi vanished into the night.

"Prepare yourselves," Sarutobi ordered after a moment of silence.

From the shadows, a dozen masked ANBU operatives emerged and knelt before him.

"Yes, Lord Third," they replied in unison before disappearing into the darkness.

Though his old friend Danzo and the Root organization would assist Itachi, Sarutobi had dispatched this loyal ANBU squad as a safeguard.

No leaks would occur—Sarutobi couldn't afford to personally intervene, for the Hokage had to remain a figure of light.

"Uchiha, for the sake of Konoha's peace and stability...

"Like your old rivals, you must now become a part of history"
