Now, where to begin?

I have no idea where I am to be going from here. I know where I am, but I have no idea where another village settlement is.

I have two goals I have to accomplish this year I am out. One is just to explore this world and the second is to accomplish what I have wanted to do for some time now. Get perfect control of the soul.

It wouldn't make sense if my body is immortal and filled with vitality while my soul gets weaker as the years pass.

I have had the idea of unblocking my seven spiritual chakra gates for some time now but I haven't had the opportunity to.

The advantages far outweigh the disadvantages. First, I would be able to leave my body at will, second, I could have better control of my aura.

Most people might ignore the importance of aura as a part of strength, but it's a very important aspect of strength nonetheless.

In the anime "Hunter X Hunter", it was shown that aura, depending on how it is used, could become a deadly force to be reckoned with.

In the world of " One Piece", it was shown that the important factor that determines one's talent and competency in 'Haki' is their will, and it was further elaborated that "Haki" is akin to "flow'' and once your spiritual powers run out, you'll lose access to it.

In all cultivation novels, one's aura determines how strong a person is. Someone with a lower level can threaten someone with some minor realm higher than them. Most of the time one's aura being stronger than yours shows that the person is stronger than you.

Why am I even bothering to explain it?... All this connects to one part of the body and that is the soul. The soul is where our will comes from. Our body can be destroyed but still have hope of survival, but once the soul is destroyed or harmed in any way, it becomes hard to recover.

An example is Orochimaru. When Hiruzen cut both his soul body's hands, he didn't recover them till he got his soul hands from the Shinigami. Even a scratch on your soul affects the physical part of your body.

Another example is Orochimaru's cursed seal which has a portion of his soul in it. When the seal is applied to someone, it causes excruciating pain as his soul and the other person's soul will clash at that moment.

And considering that Orochimaru is both older and stronger as his will has been tempered during two great wars, it will be a lot more painful for the other party to resist.

This shows how important one's soul is and how important it is to have one's soul be as strong as possible.

I initially wanted to create a technique or a seal that will serve as a mental technique to strengthen my soul like most Chinese protagonists but I didn't have the knowledge in the first place to create one.

I may be able to do so, should I be able to feel my soul as a separate entity from my physical body. I may be able to create something that will temper my soul. More like torturing my soul while I resist the pain. It is effective for them so it should be for me too.

Thoughts for the future I suppose as I am yet to even know how the soul is.

There is a lot to research about the soul like, how is the soul different from the body. Why does the soul determine whether we stay alive or not? And many more.

That aside, right now I am just walking aimlessly as I don't have any idea where I am and where I'm going.

I slept in a house built with wood release and used my bed from home. I put in my spatial ring to sleep. I took some food from the village so I wasn't in need of food for a while.

I spent a whole week in the wild before I came upon a village. I wouldn't call it a village because it was just a couple of families and a few children playing.

I decided to make a stop here and inquire if they have any idea where I can find a better settlement as I don't think this village will be all that welcoming.

From the gate made of disorganized planks of wood, I could feel their wariness toward me so I didn't bother stepping into the village.

There should be a village head or patriarchal figure here and I would get to meet him or her if I stand here for a while. I didn't bother trying to be friendly and strike up a conversation as I knew it would be pointless.

Not more than 20 minutes later, an old woman accompanied by a young man who was roughly the same age as me came in my direction. I expected a wary atmosphere but I didn't expect the old woman to be welcoming.

As she approached, with a smile on her wrinkly face she greeted

"Welcome to our village young man. I didn't expect someone from that discipline to come all the way out here. What brings you here if I might ask?"

Well, that explains the lack of wariness I was expecting. I was currently wearing the same garment as everyone from the village so maybe the tomoe marks on the clothes gave me away. Let's still ask to be sure.

"My name is Shun and I'm just passing through. I am on a journey with no particular destination in mind. By the way, which discipline do you refer to?"

Waving for me to follow her into the village, she said,

"Years ago, after the great beast rampaged across the lands and destroyed part of this area, there was a man who traveled around and revitalized the area most affected. I met him once. He was a kind soul. He took his time when doing things, he was patient and he taught us a lot. It was a long time ago and he wore the same clothes as you so you must be his son or disciple and as such, you're trustworthy"

"I am indeed a disciple from his discipline. I am on a soul-searching journey, similar to the journey the old man went through."

"Hmm... So what do you need? You wouldn't have stopped by if you didn't need something from this village. We are not used to outsiders you see. Most of these children have never seen the world beyond what their eyes can see"

"I stopped by when I saw this village as I would like to know if there are any other settlements. Though if there is any way I can be of assistance, do tell me" I say. I don't mind staying here for a while after all, I have nothIng doing so I may use this opportunity to converse with people of this world better.

I don't know when the fighting will start but I sure as hell know it will be between 800 to 900 years from now. There was no mention of battles before the warring states era but Hagoromo said that Indra and Ashura reincarnated a few times before Madara and Hashirama.

Yes. Hagoromo made mention of it when he was speaking with Naruto and Sasuke that he has watched the lives of numerous reincarnations. That is to say that Indra and Ashura reincarnated a few times but those reincarnations were unremarkable so they were ignored.

The old woman was shaking out of excitement when I said this.

"That would be appreciated, young Shun. I am Nanami and this is my grandson Yuu. I will provide accommodation as soon as possible"

I wonder why she is excited about me staying. Maybe it's due to chakra? or Is there any other reason? I cut her off as she mentioned an accommodation, "No need to worry about that Nanami-San, I will handle this matter on my own" after all I could create a house for myself. I didn't see the need to trouble anyone from this village.

The young man, Yuu, was confused while the old woman nodded with a knowing smile. Guess she really knows about chakra and its wonders.

"If you insist young Shun" turning towards her grandson, she said, "help me up. Let me introduce Young Shun to the villagers. Call all the villagers"

It didn't take long for the villagers to assemble. The old woman, Namami, called for their attention before saying. "This young man standing next to me is Shun. He is a disciple of the famous hero who defeated the beast from the stories. From now, he will be staying with us. Treat him well as he will treat you well also"

With that, she looked toward me, I nodded and approached her, and introduced myself.

After a while of getting myself acquainted with the people around me, both children and adults, I finally was able to get some time to myself.

I asked the old woman for a space to build my house. She pointed me to an area and escorted me there.

Yuu and the villagers were looking at us... me with curiosity, wondering what I was going to do there.

I had the option of building a house from earth or wood but I chose wood in the end.

Want to look cool, I clapped my hands together before placing them on the ground and said

[Wood Style: House building technique.]

The ground trembled before roots started coming out from the ground and then gradually morphed into a house, not too big and not small either, just enough to sleep in.

Yuu, Nanami, and the villagers were looking at the house in shock before someone from the village managed to exclaim. And like a chain reaction, they all came out of their stupor and looked at me in amazement.

I was surprised as I didn't see any hint of fear, just pure curiosity, and amazement. I really did surprise them there. Hehe with this I will become popular in no time at all.

I wonder how my clones are faring. Hopefully, they are not too unfortunate. Not like there is anything that could go wrong. Right?
