Chapter 62: Why did they feel that Su Ran, the one who owed money, was more arrogant than the ones there to collect the debt? (1)
They were broke?
When were they broke?
When did she say that?
Oh wait, maybe she did.
Su Ran started to recall now. It was the day before she went to teach piano lessons at the Song’s. Did they have steamed buns or the soup left over from spicy hot pot that night?
So, Su Han was worried that they were really out of money and couldn’t afford to buy food, that’s why he went to get a job at a construction site?
And all the cuts and bruises on his arms that he didn’t want her to see were all from working at the said construction site?
Aiya, her villain son is so mature. How could anyone not love him?!
Knowing what she knew now, Su Ran wasn’t able to say any of the words that she had prepared to lecture Su Han with.
“How many days did you spend working at the construction site?” She’d still have to educate him if he dared to skip school.
“Not too many days. Just last weekend.” It was temporary work. They weren’t looking for workers for that many days.
“Okay, then tell me. How much did you make?” asked Su Ran with her brows raised. She felt a sigh of relief after finding out that Su Han did not miss school to go to work.
“……”
As Su Han thought about the two wads of money that he had placed inside of his drawer, he froze.
What else could he say?
Su Han kept his lips tightly shut without saying a word.
Su Ran had a pretty good idea just from looking at Su Han.
“Su Han.” Su Ran’s look became solemn all of a sudden. “We did run into somewhat of a financial crisis a couple of days ago, but that was only temporary. I’m the parent and the adult. Earning money and supporting you is my job and my responsibilities. As for you.” Su Ran paused for a bit before she continued, “What you need to do is to focus on your study. Just look. If you don’t study hard, you can only become a construction worker in the future. It’s hard work and you don’t make a lot. If you study hard, you just might become a big boss.
Although, with or without her speech, as the story went, Su Han would become a big boss in a dozen or so years. That being said, Su Ran felt that she should still play the role of a parent.
“Ahem, that being said.” Su Ran switched to a more light-hearted tone. “The most, most important reason is that we have money now. Look, we’ve made 400,000 yuan in just one day. Once the other 8 songs are sold, you will be a Rich Second Generation.”
As in the second generation in a well-off family.
Su Ran’s word made Su Han quiet. Recalling that this woman had sold two songs for 400,000 yuan, Su Han still feel surreal about that.
He mainly felt that way because this did not seem like a skill that Su Ran would possess.
“Then why didn’t you do so sooner?” Su Han finally asked after a long silence.
If you could earn money through normal means, why did you do the type of work that you did…
Su Ran, “!”
What could she say to that? Why was it that she found it somewhat bothersome that her son was so smart?
“How should I put this…” That was all the handy work of your real mother. Blame the plot if you must.
“Back in the days your mom was head over heels over this man and had made many bad decisions because of that. In the end, that didn’t work out, and I was kicked out by my family. I guess I had just given up at the time.” Su Ran tried to summarize the story of “Su Ran” in the calmest tone that she could muster.
As for the other crimes committed by the original owner such as trying to poison others and hiring a hitman… emmm, it’s best that she didn’t mention those.
Su Ran’s words shocked Su Han.
He never knew the story behind this woman. Nobody who lived in their building even knew about them.
