Chapter 60: Didn’t you say we are out of money that day? (2)
“Reach your arm over. Let me roll your sleeve up for you.”
It wasn’t cold today at all. She had no idea why Su Han had his sleeves all the day down and buttoned up properly.
If it wasn’t his slightly awkward motion and him purposefully keeping his arms raised up high, Su Ran wouldn’t even have noticed that.
Hearing that, Su Han’s hands froze again.
“That’s not necessary,” said Su Han. Then, he quickly added, “It is fine this way.”
“Are you sure? This shirt is very expensive.” Su Ran knew exactly what to say to her son.
Mainly, she was worried about Su Han not being able to do his best at shrimp peeling.
Taking the opportunity when Su Han was frozen, Su Ran had already pulled over his arm, unbuttoned the button at the cuff, and rolled up his sleeves.
Her action had exposed all of Su Han’s bruises on his lower arm in front of her.
“I said it wasn’t necessary…” Su Han’s sleeve was pushed up by Su Ran before he could stop her.
“How did that happen?” asked Su Ran after her shock had subsided some.
Su Han’s arm was more or less covered entirely in bruises.
There were a few bruises and also a few lesions that she couldn’t tell what they were made from.
“Did someone beat you up?” asked Su Ran, her tone became nervous reflexively.
Her biggest fear was the blackening of this future big villain. She hoped that Su Han did not run into any situation that would bring about his blackening without her knowing.
“I said no already!” Su Han had no idea why Su Ran was so nervous but he instinctively wanted to avoid talking about this with her.
“It’s none of your business,” said Su Han stiffly as he looked away.
Su Ran: Ugh…
Alright, she had forgotten. The original “Su Ran” would not have cared so much about Su Han. They had only been a few days of fake mother and son since she had transmigrated.
Plus, kids of his age were undergoing their rebellious stage. It’s normal that they didn’t want to share everything with their parents.
All she could was to wait and ask about it from time to time in the future.
As Su Ran was deep in thought about how to trick her villain son into telling her the truth, dinner ended during the bizarre silence between the two.
After the fake mother and son duo finished their seafood feast, they walked out of the restaurant.
Su Han was walking a few steps ahead of Su Ran when they left the restaurant.
But, after just a few steps, the kid acted like he had left something behind and turned back around.
Su Ran suddenly felt that her arm had lightened up and the few shopping bags worth of stuff in her hands were all taken over by Su Han.
Su Han kept his head lowered the entire time with a grumpy look on him, very much like how he was the first time Su Ran saw him inside the police station.
Even though he still has a prideful look on him, Su Han was a bit intimidated by the atmosphere when neither one of them were talking.
He should feel relieved that this woman was no longer asking him questions yet he felt an inexplicable nervousness.
As though he had done something wrong but he refused to admit to it…
Shoot! He didn’t do anything wrong. He just didn’t want to share was all.
Even though the atmosphere on their way back was a bit awkward between the two, Su Ran still dragged Su Han into a small traditional clinic and had some Chinese medicinal oil rubbed on Su Han’s bruises.
When the two of them returned to their little district, they happened to run into the owner of a little shop beating his son with a stick about a meter long.
He was scolding him at the same time.
“You little punk! How dare you? I had you watch over the shop and you snuck out? How did I end up with a son like you? You couldn’t get into a university and now you can’t even watch the shop properly?!”
