Chapter 319: Su Ran felt that she had figured out the truth. (3)
It was no big deal, really.
Su Ran had wanted to muddle through it but she was defeated by his very stubborn and very curious look.
“Oh haha. It was set from a while back.” Su Ran chuckled a couple of times awkwardly, pulled up her chat with Lu Shao and showed her phone to him.
Second Piano Customer – Lu?
Raising his brows, a crack appeared on Lu Shao’s usually nonchalant face.
Su Ran almost had a hard time looking at Lu Shao.
“Uh, I had just forgotten to update it was all. Em, I will change it right now,” said Su Ran as she gave Lu Shao a look.
But, what should it be?
Daddy Su Han? Mr. Lu? Father of my son?
Looking at Lu Shao nodding, Su Ran was, once again, troubled.
Giving it some thought, Su Ran picked up her phone, deleted her old label for Lu Shao and keyed in “Lu Shao”.
“Use a different one.”
“Huh?”
“Ahem. I mean, you can use something more intimate,” said Lu Shao. Then, seeing the stiffened look on Su Ran, he added, “Er, what I meant to say is, it doesn’t have to sound so distant.”
No, it’s not distant at all.
A memory occurred to Su Ran all of a sudden.
“Will this one work then?”
Su Ran showed it to Lu Shao after she was done with the renaming.
[Mista Lu]*
Lu Shao had heard Du WenTao’s mother used that term before during their Quality Development Outing. He looked like he had a mouthful of dogfood at the time.
His eyes sparked and his lips curved upward a little.
Apparently, for inexplicable reasons, Mista Lu seemed to be very pleased with this alias.
“That works,” said Lu Shao with a smile.
“I’m done.” Having said that, Lu Shao had already pushed a plate full of crab leg meat in front of Su Ran.
“Me too,” said Su Han.
Then, another plate of crab meat appeared in front of Su Ran.
Oh, so lucky!
Su Ran exclaimed loudly to herself.
Of course, she was referring to being able to eat mouthful after mouthful of crab meat.
“Don’t have too much,” said Lu Shao to Su Ran. He added when he saw Su Ran looking at him dubiously, “Crab meat is cold.”*
Su Ran, who had at least 5 pieces of crab leg meat on her chopsticks that she was about to dip into the sauce, her hand paused in midair.
Alright, she would agree that what Lu Shao said was true.
In that case, why did the two of them peeled the two platefuls for her?
Was that a competition on who was a better crab-peeler?
They could at least leave the crab intact if they couldn’t eat them all.
She could at least bring them back to Dabao’s grandmother or Aunty Li next door.
Su Ran grumbled to herself.
Seeing how the father and son were trying to stare each other down and even having the exact look on them, Su Ran felt that she very likely had figured out the truth.
……
There were entrees and desserts with the meal. Su Ran had no idea whether the pair of “competitive” father and son had enough to eat. She was quite certain that she was stuffed.
“Zhou Fu had already fetched your luggage from Teacher Li Yan and loaded it onto the car.” After dinner and, when they were able to take off from the restaurant, Lu Shao said to Su Ran, “Would you like me to get a pair of flats for you from the car?”
“No, that won’t be necessary. We are only talking about a few steps.” Su Ran turned down his suggestion right away.
She was the one who picked up this pair of shoes. She should at least show it off all the way to the car before taking them off.
Besides, she had been busy with the competition in the last couple of days and she didn’t even want to think about how messy her suitcase was right now. And to have Lu Shao gone through it……
Hoho.
Lu Shao nodded when he heard that.
“Then wait for me at the lobby. I’ll bring the car around.”
“Mmm, alright. You go.”

Translator's notes:
“Mr. Lu” in a cute way.
* This was not referring to the actual temperature of the food, but the “nature” of the food.
