My Movie Queen: Chapter 76
After a meal Yanna and Melody went their way out, but they hadn't gone far when Melody received a message from Alice asking her to meet in a cafe nearby with Yanna.
Alice: Melody, how about we meet up at that cute cafe nearby? I wanted to invite you and Yanna for a little hangout. It's not about work this time, just a chance to relax.
Melody: Sounds great! Let me check with Yanna if she's up for it.
" Yanna, Alice wants to meet us at a nearby cafe. Are you interested?" Melody asked
" Sure, why not? But.. we just met just now right?" Asked Yanna in confusion
"It's different. Alice is my friend, but since there are other people around, we didn't have a chance to talk and catch up. And by the way, I just found out that you used to work with her on a survival show. This could also be your chance to have more friends ," Melody said, trying to persuade Yanna.
Melody really wanted to talk to Alice after a long time in person, but she felt awkward doing it alone. However, with Yanna around as her friend, she believed that there would be no awkward moments.
" You're right.. alright! let's go," Yanna agreed after thinking
After Yanna agreed Melody sent a message to Alice
Melody: Yanna agreed, sent me the location
Alice: Great! at the Cat Cafe with black cat at the front
Melody: Is that cat cafe near the super mall?
Alice: Yes
Melody: good, we're on our way now
Alice: got it
" Let's go at Black Cat Cafe," Melody says pulling Yanna
While they were on their way, Yanna asked Melody, "By the way, Melody, how long have you been friends with Alice?"
"We've been friends since Junior High, but we went to separate schools. We used to be really close, but we lost contact for about three years after I started to have more contact with Oliver."
"Oh, I see. What happened?" Yanna asked curiously, despite knowing some details. Since Melody didn't avoid the topic, she thought it was better to know the real story rather than just speculating based on what she read in the novel.
"Well, when Oliver and I got together, he told me that Alice was jealous of our friendship. Alice always convinced me not to accept Oliver's help, but at that time, I desperately needed it. Little did I know that all my misfortunes were orchestrated by Oliver. He manipulated the situation to make it seem like Alice didn't want me to be happy. So, reluctantly, I distanced myself from her, thinking it was the best decision. Now, looking back, I realize how wrong I was and how much I regret it. Alice was never the type to feel jealous or hold grudges. Perhaps if I learn how to ask for help from the people who really care about me, I won't be vulnerable to being taken advantage of by Oliver."
"It's understandable that you believed Oliver at the time. He "helps" you when you're at the vulnerable stage and you trusted him back then. Sometimes we unconsciously let our trusted ones influence our decisions without questioning them. But I'm glad you've come to see the truth now."
"Yes, it took me a while to realize my mistake. Luckily, you stepped into my life just in time," Melody said with a smile, looking at Yanna's side profile, thinking that thankfully she met her.
She continued, "I'm just grateful that Alice was forgiving and welcomed me back into her life when I reached out to her. She truly has a kind heart."
"She does indeed. Friendship is something precious, and it's important not to let misunderstandings or false information ruin it. I hope you and Alice can rebuild your bond and create more memories together."
"Thank you, Yanna. I'll do my best to make it up to her, and I'm glad to have your support in this too. I'm really grateful to you," Melody said sincerely from the bottom of her heart.
Yanna smiled, accepting Melody's gratitude. "Of course, Melody. Friends should always support each other. Now, let's enjoy our time at the cafe."
Melody chuckled and went inside the cat cafe with Yanna. They spotted Alice sitting in a far corner with an orange cat on her lap.
Alice saw them and wave at them with a smile, she called the waiter and order drinks for both of them without asking.
" You still remember what I like?" Melody asked playfully
" Of course, what about you Yanna? Did I ordered it right?" Alice look at Yanna with expectation in her eyes
Yanna smile at Alice, since all the memories of the original owner merge with her she knew that they used to be close.
" Yeah, you still remember it. It surprised me." Yanna said as she felt more comfortable now talking about the past of the original owner and also because she trusts Alice, thinking having more friends is better.
