My Movie Queen: Chapter 64
Lanice didn't stay long and was the first to leave after receiving a call from one of her clients. Fiona looked around the small house, comparing it to her own Villa. She noted that the place was quite far from the City, but it seemed like a perfect location for those who wanted to be close to nature.
Suddenly, Fiona remembered that this gathering was meant to welcome Melody, indicating that she must live nearby. This piqued her curiosity about who was helping Melody, especially since Fiona herself had been rejected twice. It made her feel uneasy, as she rarely faced rejection when offering assistance. Sipping her wine, Fiona observed Melody, who was focused on eating dessert, and Vanessa, who was engaged in conversation with Yanna.
Fiona decided to inquire, "By the way, Melody, where do you live?" as she refilled her wine glass.
Melody paused momentarily, then turned towards Fiona and replied, "I live in the white apartment just across the street."
"I see. Can I visit your place sometime?" Fiona responded, intrigued
Melody, without looking up, continued eating before answering, "Yeah, Yanna will be visiting my place. You can come with her."
Fiona hesitated and requested, "Can I come alone? I don't want to trouble Yanna."
Yanna, who was listening nearby without understanding the underlying meaning behind Fiona's words, interjected, "No, it's no trouble."
Vanessa, who sensed the tension in the atmosphere, subtly pinched Yanna's thigh to silence her. She then said, "You don't have to call Yanna if you want to visit Melody alone. After all, her place is just across the street. Melody, if Fiona causes you any trouble, just give us a call. Don't be afraid to let us know, I'll handle it."!
"So fierce, we are both Omegas. What can I do to her? Am I that kind of person to you?" Fiona reacted as if she were hurt by Vanessa's words.
Vanessa just gave Fiona a look; she knew Fiona. If she's not interested in Melody, why would she waste her time? Fiona is the type of person who values time and sees playing around as a waste of time. This has been the case since they were children and it hasn't changed until now. Fiona simply smiled at Vanessa, knowing that she had been seen through.
"Alright, guys, let's cheer for Melody!" Yanna smiled excitedly.
"Cheers!" everyone responded, raising their glasses.
Yanna giggled as she saw everyone drinking and happy. She couldn't help but feel a little emotional, maybe because of the alcohol, so her guard loosened a little. "I wish I had met you guys before. Maybe I would have been happier and more satisfied in life," she said.
Hearing Yanna's words, everyone became quiet and looked at Yanna with a complicated expression. "She might be drunk," Fiona said, finding it amusing.
Yanna, who heard Fiona laugh, replied, "No, I'm not. You know, I've met some people like you before, but they are disgusting. They have no moral boundaries! If you show even a little weakness, they will take advantage of you and drain you dry! I've encountered a lot of people, but what they all have in common is greed for fame and money. It's truly rare for me to meet people who are true to themselves and see others as human beings rather than a means of profit."
Fiona and Vanessa thought Yanna was talking about her past experiences, so they kept silent and let Yanna express herself. Melody nodded as she listened to Yanna, agreeing with what she said. "You're right, some people will use their power to get what they want," she added.
"Indeed, they don't consider the impact of their unrestrained use of power on those beneath them. Dealing with such people constantly can be exhausting," Yanna expressed her opinion, combining her memories from her previous life and her current state under the influence of alcohol.
"Then do you still want to continue in the entertainment industry?" Fiona asked with interest.
"Yes, I already have Melody as my manager, and I have already submitted my application. I just need to wait for the announcement regarding when and where," Yanna answered.
"But if you return, you will have to deal with those kinds of people again," Fiona pointed out.
"I'm not afraid. There's nothing holding me back anymore, and I still owe my fans an explanation. They have continued to support and love me. How can I disappoint them?" Yanna said warmly, remembering how her fans still believe in her. "Even if it's just one person who believes in me, it's enough to motivate me," she added.
"We will support you," Vanessa finally spoke up after remaining silent.
"Just give me a call, and I'll help you," Fiona offered her support as well.
"Ahaha, thank you," Yanna laughed before falling asleep.
Vanessa caught Yanna as she noticed her falling. "I'll just take her to her room."
"Leave it to me. It's already late, and you two still need to drive. I live just across the street, so it won't be a problem for me," Melody said, moving beside Yanna.
Vanessa was speechless and didn't know what to say. Meanwhile, Fiona observed Vanessa's reaction and suppressed her laughter before saying, "Vanessa, we better go back now and let Melody take care of Yanna."
"Okay, you guys can just wait for me here," Vanessa agreed, listening to them but not letting Melody take care of Yanna.
Vanessa put Yanna on her bed, removed her makeup, and covered her with a blanket. She turned on the air conditioning and kissed Yanna on her forehead before reluctantly leaving. If Fiona and Melody weren't around, she wouldn't leave, but she still needed to be cautious around them.
She went downstairs and saw Fiona and Melody cleaning the table. "Just leave everything in the kitchen. I'll arrange for a cleaner to come tomorrow and take care of everything. Melody, Yanna might not wake up early, so you can handle everything here tomorrow."
Melody felt a sense of weirdness listening to Vanessa making plans for tomorrow, ensuring that Yanna wouldn't be disturbed. However, she couldn't pinpoint the source of this weirdness, so she simply nodded.
