My Movie Queen: Chapter 56
After talking to Yanna, Melody stayed on the balcony to take a deep breath. She didn't expect to get involved in something complicated.
Melody sighed once again, contemplating how to distance herself from Oliver, especially since Yanna had assured her that she didn't need to act as a spy on her behalf. She felt a sense of relief knowing that Yanna didn't want to push her into uncomfortable situations, yet she could still seek Yanna's help on the condition that she parted ways with Oliver.
' If I leave Oliver, I may not earn as much money as before, but I will still be able to find a job like Yanna promised. That's all I've wanted since I was fired previously. Perhaps Yanna is right. Oliver seems to be blocking my opportunities to secure employment, preventing me from contributing my skills. It's improbable for me to remain jobless, especially with my positive track record, substantial experience, and favorable impressions from interviewers. Yet, suddenly, I receive notifications that I didn't make the cut. I never considered it before, but the pattern seems too coincidental. I feel like such a fool ' Melody thought to herself, a mocking smile forming on her lips, realizing that the man she thought was worth her time turned out to be a deceptive person.
Melody closed her eyes, embracing the chilly air, believing that this was exactly what she needed. She attempted to recollect everything she had done in the past, but found herself growing increasingly confused.
Her eyes flickered open when she suddenly felt someone placing a jacket over her. She turned to look and saw Fiona standing beside her
"It's cold," Fiona said.
"Thank you," Melody looked away from Fiona because she noticed that the other party was not wearing anything underneath her nightgown.
Melody blushed and became distracted, so she didn't hear Fiona. Fiona looked closely at Melody, who was blushing, and felt like she was seeing a rabbit.
Fiona hugged Melody from behind with a playful smile. Melody snapped back to her senses when she felt something soft and warm behind her. She unconsciously gulped and became at a loss when she heard Fiona whispering in her ear.
"Do you feel cold?"
"N-no...what are you doing?"
"I've been asking you, but you won't answer me, so I thought the jacket wasn't enough to keep you warm," Fiona calmly explained.
"I-I'm okay..."
"Really?"
"Yes."
"Then tell me, what's wrong with you? I saw you sighing and it seems like you're thinking about something complicated. I'm worried that you might suddenly snap," Fiona said, but she didn't let go of Melody. She was taller and Melody's body was smaller than hers. She felt comfortable having Melody in her arms, so she pretended to be casual.
"I'm not the kind of person who would hurt themselves just because of trouble," Melody retorted. She unconsciously leaned her body towards Fiona when she smelled a floral scent. They were both omega, but she didn't feel any repulsion or discomfort from Fiona's pheromones, which confused her for a while.
"So what are you thinking? If you don't mind sharing it with me," Fiona said in a gentle tone, knowing that Melody felt comfortable in her arms.
Fiona was also confused by her own behavior. She was interested in Yanna, so she tried to get in touch with her and get closer. However, compared to Melody, she felt more comfortable with Melody, and she didn't know why. So when she saw Melody standing on the balcony deep in thought and sighing, she became curious and worried, which was unlike her.
"It's about Oliver," Melody whispered.
Fiona felt uncomfortable hearing her answer, but she still acted like a good friend.
"What's wrong? Did he call you again?"
" no,"
"Hmm... Does he have something in his hand that he can use against you?" Fiona smiled, knowing that Melody wants to distance herself from Oliver. Now she started to think about how she could help Melody.
"Nothing, but he gives me money. Although I don't want to accept his money, my family needs my support, so I can only use it. That's why it's hard for me not to do him a favor," Melody explained.
"Then, I will lend you some money so you can pay him back. After that, you can work for me. I think it's better if you work under me," Fiona offered, thinking it was a good idea.
Indeed, Melody thought it was a good idea, but she felt uncomfortable being indebted to Fiona. For some reason, she didn't want to have money involved between them.
"Let me think about it first," Melody responded. She then went back to her room, leaving Fiona confused about what had happened.
Sitting on the bed, Melody felt a mix of complicated emotions.
