My Movie Queen

My Movie Queen: Chapter 101

After a few days of break, Vanessa went back to her job with a satisfied smile on her face. She spent most of her time with Yanna these past few days and also got to know the omega Yanna was talking about before. She's actually familiar with Mirayuki as they met once when they were kids, but Mirayuki went abroad with her family. Although her family still has some business partnership with their company, it's really hard to get to see them, but Yanna said she will be able to see Mirayuki in two days.

Yanna, on the other hand, also went back to her busy schedule, and tonight is the night they have been waiting for. She already prepared everything, and Fiona, like before, is on standby. Although she expected to meet a big shot as a bait for her, she didn't expect to also meet one of the genius Directors of today's generation, who only produce a hit movie once a year.

Tonight she will meet Director Lupin, who she wants to impress as she knew it's worth it working with him, and the other one is Director Shang, a popular director of idol dramas; however, it was said that the director has some special hobbies and always gets in trouble with actors on set. She wasn't supposed to meet Director Lupin tonight, but Melody insists on setting it the same time because she only managed to invite director Lupin with the help of her connection, and just so happened that it's the only they can talk again to Director Lupin.

Yanna calmly drinks her wine while Melody keeps her posture straight as she is getting nervous.

"This is not the first time you are going to talk a Director, why so tense?" Yanna asked, watching Melody having a poker face.

"Director Lupin is different, he is a genius, a talented man. By just looking at the person, he can tell what role would suit you, and he can turn the untalented into a gem. He isn't called a genius for nothing," Melody replied. Then she heard a man's laugh from behind.

"I'm flattered Ms. Melody, I can tell you really study your assignment well," Director Lupin said with a smile.

Yanna stood up and introduced herself. "Good evening, Director Lupin. I'm Yanna Rivera, thank you for coming. I thought Melody is making a prank on me saying we are going to meet a genius Director, but seeing you in person I feel honored."

"Thank you for coming, Director. Please take a seat," Melody said.

"Hahaha, just call me Lupin and...

Lupin looked at Yanna up and down and in her eyes, he smiled and took out a paper from his envelope. He prepared it for the actress he wants to act as the heroine of his movie but seeing Yanna tonight, he knew no one's more deserving the heroine than her. He handed over the contract and the script to Yanna. "Here, read it then sign if you agree,"

Yanna calmly took the contract and the script, then she handed over the contract to Melody while she read the script. As expected, the first part of the story is already captivating. She wants to know more of the story. She closed the script then looked at Melody.

Melody smiled and gave the contract to Yanna. Lupin took a sip of tea, waiting for them to ask, "if you have any concerns from script to contract, you can ask me."

Yanna held her other hand under the table to hold her excitement. She calmly said, "I like how the heroine adjusted herself, but since she's a reborn person, isn't it weird for her to trust people in that world without prior knowledge of their culture and how that world system works?"

"Correct, hahaha as expected of the heroine, I chose. Yes, but what if she knew that world from the beginning before she got reborn into that world? Trusting the people she knew who is trusted is reasonable," Lupin explained without realizing that Yanna, who is listening, froze for a moment upon hearing the explanation.

"I see, that's a crazy twist. You are indeed a genius," Yanna chuckled, praising Lupin, hiding her nervousness.

Such a story, no one knows better than her what it feels like to wake up from a known to an unknown world. She can only trust the people she read about in the story who are trusted.

"I like this book, I will make it come to life," Yanna said with full emotion, then she smiled and gave the signed contact. "Looking forward to working with you, Director."

Lupin stood up and took the contract. "I'm also looking forward to it. I will take my leave now; I still need to talk to someone."

Yanna nodded, then she remembered that Lupin would fall into a setup later which would ruin his career and life. She stopped Lupin and walked forward towards him, then said, "Director, there's no backing out now, okay? I recorded our conversation tonight."

"Haha, recorded? You don't trust me?" Lupin asked, feeling offended but also strange.

"Yes, so you better do the same next time if you meet someone who makes you feel uncomfortable. Be careful, Director," Yanna replied, then she stepped back.

Lupin wanted to ask Yanna why. He was supposed to get mad at Yanna for being rude just after signing the contract, but somehow he felt that Yanna's words meant something, especially when he heard that he needed to be careful. It was as if Yanna was giving him a warning.

"Does Yanna mean I should be careful with someone who will make me feel uncomfortable? But what about the recording? Yanna said she recorded our conversation, even though she's not holding anything, the same with Melody, meaning it's also part of the warning. Hmm... But why would Yanna give me a warning?" Lupin stopped his words when he saw from afar the actor he rejected but who was still insisting on meeting him, which made him annoyed and uncomfortable.

"Uncomfortable, yes, that's right. If the warning is for me, then what Yanna wants to tell is, be careful of Set and make sure to have a recording as an assurance in case I get into trouble. Hahaha, that's right. Yanna knew Set and if Set finds out I hand over the role of the heroine to Yanna, he will definitely go crazy, and I really might get into trouble tonight. A spoiled, wealthy young man is indeed trouble."
