Chapter 6
Vanessa followed Yanna as they made their way to the shore. There, they managed to find a crab, and with some luck, they discovered five more crabs, which proved to be enough for both of them. Yanna took charge of securing the crabs, and together they began searching for a suitable place to stay.
Yanna looked around the forest as she spoke, "Do you think we can find a cave here? In the movies I've watched before, there are always caves where the protagonist would hide or stay, or sometimes accidentally fall."
Vanessa gave her a skeptical glance before responding, "You're watching too much."
"Don't you think so? "
" First, we're not in a movie. Second, we're not shooting a movie. And third, we're not protagonists." With Vanessa's words echoing in her mind, Yanna fell silent.
Deep in her mind, she knew that Vanessa was a protagonist in this world, always blessed with luck wherever she went. However, Yanna couldn't bring herself to voice this realization, as it still seemed unbelievable that a book character could come to life and stand beside her. She needed more time to fully accept her new identity and the reality of this extraordinary world.
She also thinks that it would be better not to tell or else she might also be labeled as mentally ill.
Lost in her thoughts, Yanna already has envisioned a future beyond the constraints of showbiz, where she could live without being bound by schedules and avoid falling victim to exhaustion again.
' Maybe working as a clerk isn't so bad ' she mused to herself.
As Yanna's mind wandered, Vanessa noticed her disconnection from the present. Waving her hand in front of Yanna, she called out to her but received no response.
Attempting to wake her gently, Vanessa lightly poked Yanna's shoulder, yet still received no reaction. Finally, she decided to employ a more forceful method to bring her back to awareness. With a subtle pinch to Yanna's cheeks, Vanessa successfully woke her from her mental drift.
"Ouch! Vanes, what are you doing?" Yanna asked, looking at her with a grieving expression
She couldn't help but find Yanna's behavior funny and cute
"I called out to you, but you didn't respond. I even poked your shoulder, but it didn't seem like you could feel anything, so I tried to pinch you," Vanessa explained patiently.
"What were you even thinking about? You look so distracted."
Yanna bit her lower lip as she remembered that they still needed to find a place to stay and they hadn't eaten yet.
She had requested to look for a nearby place where they could spend some time and build a shelter before having a meal but ended up getting distracted. She couldn't help but feel guilty for a moment.
" I just thought that you looked like a protagonist," she said.
"So you're thinking about me?" Vanessa ask
"Yes," she whispered back
They both fell silent, leaving even the viewers in suspense.
"Then what are you thinking about me?" Vanessa asked, breaking the silence.
Deep inside Vanessa felt embarrassed and shy, yet she showed nothing outside as if those words didn't affect her.
And seeing her appear unaffected, her fans breathed a sigh of relief.
…
[ My goodness! I stopped breathing for a moment ]
[ I just realized that this Alpha is quite the smooth talker ]
[ If I were Vanessa, even though I know this Alpha has a questionable past, I would still blush ]
[ Why do you think Vanessa was seen as a cold beauty before? ]
[ That's right! The person who can soften her heart hasn't been born yet! ]
[ I know Yanna may not be the best person, but her charm and those words make me flustered ]
[ Let's not judge Yanna too harshly. She hasn't done anything bad from the beginning. If she truly had a bad nature, it would eventually reveal itself, and just to remind everyone, Yanna is not good at acting ]
[ That's right, she may be a bad actor, but that doesn't mean she's not a good person ]
[ Vanessa didn't overthink things, and Yanna is about to explain, so let's hold off on passing judgment for now ]
…
"I couldn't help but notice, Vanes, that you possess such remarkable qualities. Not only are you stunning, but you also manage to overcome numerous hardships and still stand tall. Your humility adds to your admirable character. When contemplating all these aspects, it dawned on me that you embody the characteristics of a protagonist." Yanna explained her thoughts, nodding to affirm the validity of her statement.
Vanessa, acknowledging the sincerity behind Yanna's words, redirected the conversation towards a different topic.
" Yanna, we all play the leading role in our own lives. Perhaps it's time to stop overanalyzing and simply focus on our journeys. On another note, I've noticed that this location would be ideal for building a shelter. It offers an elevated position not too far from the sea, with a nearby lake and a plethora of large stones on a flat landscape."
As Vanessa contemplated Yanna's words, doubts began to cloud her mind. She couldn't bring herself to believe that everyone genuinely loved her for who she was. Instead, she suspected that people were drawn to her fame, wealth, and physical beauty. Pondering this revelation, Vanessa's demeanor grew colder.
...
[ Upon reflection, I retract my earlier statement regarding Yanna being a smooth talker. In reality, she's a fool! ]
[ My disappointment is palpable. What were my expectations, anyway? ]
[ I appreciate Yanna's kind words, as they were not intended as an advance towards Vanessa, but rather a genuine compliment.]
[ Tsk! Is Yanna attempting to captivate Vanessa's attention with her flattery? ]
[ You all have such peculiar interpretations. Yanna's compliment was purely innocent, yet you seem to read something more into it. ]
[ Poor Yanna, she's blissfully unaware. Can't you see her naively innocent eyes? ]
[ I quite enjoy this current dynamic between the two of them; it's compelling. If only they could…]
[ Stop whatever you're trying to say upstairs ]
[ I like the two of them together right now if we don't think about Yanna's past everything is well ]
[Same]
