My Mother Has a System but Won't Use It

Chapter 247: Necklace World

Fluffy white clouds floated beneath blue and tender skies. Gentle trees rustled in the wind, while birds chirped amidst the canopies. Little docile animals walked and yawned in peace, too.

Among the small green hills in the plain stood a city filled with ancient pagodas and a huge hustle and bustle. There were no walls, no fences, just calm serenity, and harmonic peace.

Suddenly, the atmosphere far outside the city shook slightly and a handsome man's figure materialized into reality.

It was Han Li.

He took a deep breath of this new world's air. He had stepped foot in his world for the first time after all.

"The necklace world, it's interesting, right, Dad?" Han Fei chirped from inside his Empty Space, ever the energetic soul.

"It is indeed interesting," he answered.

The Necklace was a treasure of the Sacred Cult, he had stolen it from the people who ambushed Monk Hen Shin. Now, he finally could check what it really contained.

A Transcendent owned this treasure before him; inside it, there was a whole Demon World. Who knew what interesting things might be inside?

"Dad, so are you going to become the demonic tyrant of this peaceful place?" Han Fei asked, curious.

"What, are you against it?"

"Hm? No, just curious. I never saw my dad while he was this young while in the Vital Enlightenment thingy." She hummed. "Now look at you, so charming, so young in spirit and so ambitious you want to achieve the impossible."

Han Li yawned and walked towards the city.

"You don't like your dad being so strong?"

"I do of course. At least you are not becoming too old with Mom and dying. I had to bury you both once, don't forget that."

"Your mother still doesn't accept that she is your father's though, she is sulking."

"Don't be so mean, she knows it but is just shy. Well, you pissed off that Liyue woman and my… grandma too. So, maybe you should fix their issues first."

"Yeah, yeah, so you keep your mouth shut and don't make it worse for me."

"...For now. I also don't want to make a bad impression. They all like you a lot, so pitch in for me too."

Han Li moved faster and faster and soon enough, he was amidst tall buildings and a crowd of peaceful people. He could smell noodles somewhere and at the same time, using the Paradise Mark, he sensed Liyue inside a certain pagoda.

He melded into the crowd and walked towards its entrance.

A guard blocked him. "The rooms are full and there is no entry today," he said.

Han Li looked at him with cold red eyes and the bulky guard trembled in dread.

Heart Qi—Fear!

As the guard sweated in fear and his gaze darkened, Han Li vanished into the pagoda and climbed up to a certain room. He pushed open the door and was faced with the back of a beautiful woman.

She was seated on the edge of her bed, illuminated by the filtering sunlight from the windows. She looked at her nails, bit them sometimes, or just stared out the window.

Han Li walked up to her silently.

He climbed the bed and sat behind her.

He wrapped his hand around her and placed his chin on her shoulders.

She pouted and held his hand tight.

"Brother Han…"

"Still mad?" he asked.

"Not really mad, just frustrated." She leaned against his chest and turned sideways to kiss his cheeks. "I was the first one to ask you for a child, and Ruo—she—she didn't even see you like I do. Why her? I wouldn't have felt like this if you gave a child to our Mother Yue before me but why not me and why her?"

It was his Mom who first asked for a child, not her, but Han Li didn't point that out.

"Liyue," Han Li took a hold of her waist and her heartbeat began to quicken.

He leaned down to nibble on her neck and she breathed sensually.

"Are you going to give me one now?" she asked. "You can do that whenever you want to, right?"

"I am not going to let you give birth."

Liyue frowned and stood up. She glared at him with her brown—goldish eyes—she seemed frustrated. He pulled her back into his embrace but now, they were face to face and she was looking at him sulkily.

"Why?"

"You are so dumb sometimes," he sighed. "Think of it like this. Yes, Ruo did give birth to Han Fei and I have my first daughter now. But did that affect Ruo herself adversely in any way? No. In fact, her body is still a virgin one in the real world.

But what if you have a child now?"

Liyue looked down sulkily.

"You will lose a year of precious time for yourself just to give birth. And then, for years, you will have to care for a baby and it's still going to be a headache for you afterward—even Han Fei is a headache for me—you will grow old and won't see much breakthrough in cultivation after giving birth either; it will just make everything harder for you.

I told you once and I will tell you again, become a strong Transcendent and ask me for anything."

Liyue drew on his chest with her fingertips. "A pity."

Han Fei mumbled in his mind, "Yeah, I am such a headache for you, aren't I?"

Han Li smiled. "So, are you happy now?"

Liyue cleared her throat. "If you are going to ask me to be nice to Ruo, don't. I want to be a bit mean to her at least. She is too bratty."

"I think Ruo has changed a lot," Han Li said. She had regained some of the memories of her previous life after all—she knew that Han Li's relationship ran way deeper with herself. Even though she might not know the entire thing.

"Whatever, but…" Liyue asked, "Where is Han Fei, have you ever told her about me?"

Han Li waved his hand in the air and a white-haired woman materialized beside them. She was picking on her nose but quickly changed her form to a more elegant one.

Liyue looked at her silently. "You look a lot like Ruo," she said with imperial elegance, naturally. She didn't even have to try.

Han Fei pushed back a strand of her hair behind her ears calmly. But inwardly, she said to her dad using the innate connection they had: 'You could have at least warned me—You..!'

"Many say that I and my mother are alike," she said with a smile to Liyue.

Liyue squinted. "Has my hubby told you anything about me?"
