Ch 50 – Pain
*Boom!*
A tall figure slammed into the wall and penetrated it, flying out with blood flowing out from his mouth and the wounds.
One of his hands was missing while his legs seemed to be broken by someone.
Looking closely one would recognize him pretty easily since they were watching him via the screens created by Gifso with his game magic for everyone to enjoy.
He was Vetto, one of the Third Eye of the Eye of the Midnight Sun.
He was heavily wounded with his limbs broken and his bones shattered.
*Boom*
Vetto heavily landed on the ground, creating a massive crater, lying on the ground in a dead state.
The people living underwater approached him cautiously, only to realize that he was dead. They looked at each other before turning their attention to the Seabed Temple in awe.
Turning the clock a few minutes back, inside the seabed temple.
"You bastard!!" Vetto raised his hand and a massive claw of mana aimed for Alex's hand.
Alex grinned devilishly and unsheathed his sword. "Sword Draw: Dragon Slayer!"
*Wong!*
A terrifying sword energy burst out and clashed with the massive claw, creating a high-pitched sound that echoed in the temple.
The sword's energy was so powerful that it cut the mana like a hot knife cutting through butter with no resistance at all.
Vetto realized it and quickly repelled himself backward to avoid the attack but even with his top speed he failed to escape unscathed, as a hollow wound decorated his chest in red.
Alex grinned and stared at him. "What happened, big guy? Not want to show me despair anymore."
He walked towards him fearlessly, a darker aura surrounding him with black gas oozing out of his body.
If Vetto's increase in power was comparable to a giant river then Alex resembled the vast and deep ocean with no limits at all.
It was Vetto himself who was feeling despair at the moment as even his soul was trembling in fear.
Elves were the protector of nature and had the most powerful senses among all living creatures, enough to determine the nature of everyone's power.
Vetto currently could see the shadow of death looming over him as he saw the young magic knight approaching him with large steps.
The atmosphere itself was trembling. Mana, the magical energy densely packed in the air, was resonating with the entrance of a transcendent existence.
Alex only showcased a little of his strength back then during their last clash but this time, Alex was going all out. He would make the tall man feel despair until his last breath so even after his death, he would never find peace.
Alex wasn't Asta so he felt no sympathy for Vetto since the latter had messed with him twice and even hurt his friends at all.
But Vetto had messed with him twice and Alex was not a forgiving person at all, so nobody could save the old elf from him.
Only after facing off against the real Alex did Vetto realize how small he was compared to the behemoth of existence standing in front of him.
He instantly realized that he never stood a chance against Alex at all.
He laughed at himself and said. "You aren't a human at all. Just what are you..."
A cruel smile traced Alex's face as he stared straight into Vetto's eyes. "I'm your end!"
*Bang*
Just as he finished, he rushed toward him and punched Vetto straight into his face.
The force behind the punch was so strong that it cracked his jaw.
Vetto splurted out blood as his body flew back like a rocket and hit the wall, crumbling it.
"Hehe... you talk about despair and all kind of shit. You can never achieve anything with how weak you're."
Alex continued to assault the big guy, hitting him again and again.
"You think you can take your revenge with just that. Hahaha... you don't know shit."
Vetto tried to resist as he charged an attack, wanting to shake off Alex but the latter grabbed his hand and crushed it.
*Snap* *Snap*
The sounds of bones snapping echoed into the temple as Alez ripped off his arm again.
Alex then snapped his three limbs with ease, showcasing his terrifying physical prowess.
"Nobody can escape from my hands after hurting my friends."
Alex shouted and slammed a terrifying punch into Vetto's bloody face, sending him flying away and landing outside the temple in between the citizens.
He glanced at his dead body and turned around to face Noelle and Kahono who were staring at him with a scared expression.
Alex ignored them and checked the conditions of Magna and Luck before he sighed.
'Luckily they have only sustained physical injuries and might heal soon.'
"Do you really have to be so ruthless?" Kahono muttered after she checked the condition of her father and healed him a little bit.
Alex glanced at her and sighed. "If I hadn't done that then he would have destroyed your throat and taken away your dreams. Are you fine with losing your dreams?"
"How can you be sure? You're just making excuses..." Kahono retorted with a disappointed expression.
"Kahono..." Gio who had regained his consciousness called out to his daughter and shook his head.
Alex glanced at them and said. "What will you do if one day someone will come and kiss your entire family? Not only your family but they will massacre the entire underground temple..."
"What are you..." Kahono furrowed her brows, not understanding the meaning of his question.
But Gio was different as his eyes flashed with a peculiar light and he sighed, understanding him a little.
Alex stared at Kahono and said with a solemn expression. "Little girl, you still haven't experienced the fire of revenge. The flames of revenge will not only burn the enemies but even the person too... You can't even imagine the pain one has to bear at that time."
He glanced at the hole in the wall and muttered. "Maybe, nobody here does..."
Gio stared at Alex's eyes and said. "Kid, do you also..."
Alex turned his head away and spoke. "Everyone has a weakness in their hearts and they will do absolutely anything to protect it... Those guys!... They had lost their everything and they will not stop at anything until they will burn this world in the same fire they are burning in."
Gio was startled by his words and his expression hardened. Maybe Noelle and Kahono don't realize the gravity of his words but he does...
'This kid... he is more than he meets the eyes. He is like an empty void who has lost everything... I wonder what might he have experienced to be like this...'
While they were resting, Vetto's body floated in the air with a massive amount of mana gathering in it, ready to explode.
But Yami broke out from the confinement of the Spatial Mage and cut the tall elf in half with his Dark-Coated Dimensional Slash.
